Facebook Scams

Friend requests from weird accounts, marketplace listings that seem too good to be true, profiles of people that already have profiles…these are just a few examples of Facebook scams. Phishing and other acts of fraud are rife on the world’s largest social network.

There are a number of widespread scams on that platform, such as the many Facebook friend request scams, many of which are phishing accounts just trying to get your information.

The good news is, here is how to detect a fake Facebook website, or any other malicious site on the Internet.

Facebook Scams: List Below

Most of the Facebook scams often lead to identity theft (here is how to remove your private data from the Internet). Facebook marketplace scams are also popular, as classified ads have always attracted fraud and other illicit practices.

You also have to be careful of Facebook messenger scams, including messages from random people. Take care in what Facebook apps you use, as many of the games and quizzes are phishing operations in disguise.
