Subway Rewards Facebook: How The Scam Works
You might come across a Subway Rewards Facebook ad today. The tempting offer mentions how everyone could receive a gift card, which makes the subject of the new Subway Facebook scam we will expose today.
Here is a screenshot of the post that’s been making its rounds:
The Subway Rewards Facebook scam is advertised on the platform as if it would come from one manager. Let’s take a look. The content states:
“Hello, everyone! I am one of the managers at Subway, and I’ve some fantastic news. Every person who has shared and then commented by 12 PM Thursday will be sent one of these boxes containing a $25 Subway gift card, plus surprises that will make your heart flutter. After visit https://u2coupon.com/Subway to validate your entry.”
The value of the gift card could also be $50, in different fake promos. However, the first image in this article is used for all the bogus promotions, although those people might be real winners from previous campaigns.
Subway Facebook Scam: What It Does
There are extremely many red flags with this fake Subway Rewards Facebook scam that it’s not even funny. First of all, no company manager would make this offer without saying his/her name. Secondly, there are tons of grammar mistakes and spelling errors. Writing “Subway” in small letters “gift card” with a dash would bring a huge fine to any “manager.”
Third, the marketing team handled these kinds of social media promos at any major brand, so rest assured that the Subway Facebook scam is just there to get your personal information. It is similar to the Chick-fil-A scam or the Woolworths Survey Email.
So, the question is: what happens if you click on the link? It is something that happens in many Facebook scams. There will a landing page asking you to “validate your entry.” What does that mean? By validating, it means you have to fill out a form with private data about yourself and a more survey questionnaire. By filling out this Subway Rewards Facebook survey, you just send affiliate marketing income to scammers, who get paid by commission for those who fill out these forms.
How To Avoid The Subway Rewards Scam
However, the scam could be framed in many other angles, anything from identity theft (depending on how much personal information they ask you to provide) to installing malware on your device. That being said, stay away from the Subway Facebook scam – big companies never give away gift cards like that.
