Entry Level Construction Jobs Scam Video

If you are a construction worker and currently looking for job opportunities, you might come across Internet ads featuring a new company, called Luchana Construction Employment. However, since this scam is exposed below, expect the name of the fake company to be changed by the criminals. Just beware of the way the scam works, not the names crooks are using.

Once contacted, they will respond back with something along these lines: “we spent all last week going through applications and would really like to have you on board with us and interviewed”. The name of the person responding is Charles Ganino, but indeed scammers could use different other names, so beware.

Once you confirm your interest to work for these guys, you are required to send the company $80 to cover the cost of hiring occupational health and safety uniforms, which would be refunded to him after his two-week probation period.

They ask the money need to be sent three days before the commencement of your employment, and could only be sent via electronic funds transfer as the company could not accept cash or credit card payment.

Many people fall for this scam as the website that is promoted looks very legitimate and professional. They stole logos and images from other companies, claim to have completed projects that are not done by them (but by other reputable businesses), and impersonate people who really exist, but have nothing to do with them.

The text on their site is also copied and pasted from a different construction company's website.

 

How to avoid the Entry Level Construction Jobs scam:

No legitimate company does business this way. The Human Resources department would be sending out information and would be contacting you, even for entry level constructuion jobs. Reputable companies don't advertise with just ‘We're looking for people” phrases, with no other details about the position.

Also, look to see if they have more ways to contact them. If they only provide an email address with no phone number or address, it's a first red flag. It is certainly a scam if the email you send bounces back as well. Last but not least, look for grammar errors in the text.
