Watch out for a new Windows Defender Email scam happening as you are reading this. It is a “Windows Defender Order Confirmation” message which asks recipients to call a phone number. The one used in the original Windows Defender scam was 1-888-481-2106, but rest assured by now, there could be many others. Check the comments section too, for more feedback from victims.

The senders attempt to trick their potential victims into sending them a lot of money for a fake Windows Defender subscription. Their quest is successful because many people are not even aware of their computer anti-virus/protection systems.

Subject: Billing of $399.00 for the 1-year Subscription pending

Dear User,

This mail is regarding the Windows Defender Services registered in your name; there is the billing of $299.00 for the 1-year subscription pending, which would be charged on your Visa/Master Card, whichever is connected to your account. We tried to contact you for queries but could not get through to you.

If you have any questions or wish to cancel the renewal, please reach us at +1 888-481-2106 within two working days. You need to be accessible to your PC/ Laptop for verification purposes.

Please talk to our customer support representative at +1 888-481-2106 to cancel or renew any service/contract. Any email cancellations will not be entertained as per the signed agreement. If you wish to update or remove your email or other contact preferences for Marketing Communications that Windows Defender sends you, please notify us.
