Along McDonald’s other big brands such as Starbucks, Target and Wal-Mart are being used as a front for these latest phishing scams. The McDonald’s Gift Card Offer on WhatsApp is based on the same trick that criminals pulled recently with the Starbucks voucher. How does it work?

Large retailers such as McDonald’s never offer deals to customers via WhatsApp, Kik, Viber, or through unsolicited email campaigns. Ignore the offer.
