Amazon Watch Raffle: How The Scam Text Works
Beware of a fake Amazon watch raffle, also known as the Fitness Watch Text or the Apple Watch Raffle Scam. It could also feature a Garmin or an airpod prize. The ‘good news’ is coming to you as a text message. The last number reported is (714) 883-6385. However, the bogus draw is part of a long list of Amazon scams happening this time of the year.

“Amazon: Congratulations [your name], you came in 2nd in this week’s Amazon Apple Watch raffle! Click this link to arrange delivery: t3fzv.info/7047VldUlg“
This fraud is very similar to the Amazon 30th anniversary free gift scam happening also this week.
Amazon Airpods Raffle Scam: Fake Link
As you can see, the Amazon Raffle text doesn’t look as it would come from the real Amazon. There are so many red flags with this bogus promo. The link that scammers require you to open is t3fzv.info, which obviously is NOT amazon.com.
That page will lead you to a phishing scam meant to collect your personal information and other credentials you could offer. Stay away. This type of scheme is perpetrated in many phone scams these days, whether it is about airpods or any other gadgets.
Same as in several text message scams.
