Beware of a new Costco raffle scam, coming as a fake Costco receipt text message. It features an iPad or an iPhone prize for a supposed draw that the company just organized. The last phone number reported is (714) 883-6385. However, the fictional lottery is part of a long list of text message scams happening this time of the year.

Another variation informs the recipient that he won an airpod. This Costco receipt scam is very similar to the free grocery box text message that hit millions of inboxes not too long ago.

As you can see, the Costco text scam doesn’t look as it would come from the real company. There are so many red flags with this fake promo. The link that scammers require you to open is d3gmv.info, which obviously is NOT costco.com.

That page will lead you to a phishing scam meant to collect your personal information and other credentials you could offer. Stay away. This type of scheme is perpetrated in many phishing scams these days, whether it is about AirPods, iPhones or any other gadgets.
