Scholarship Winning

How the scam works:

You receive an e-mail saying you have won a $3,000 scholarship (or any other sum). After all the congratulatory phrases and official-looking logos, the “organization” will require you to pay a tax by clicking on a link provided which opens a page set-up for payment, providing the scammer with all your financial info.

How to avoid:

Ignore the e-mail. If you win a scholarship, you are notified by regular mail.
