tcgplayer.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives tcgplayer.com a fairly high trust score on the platform: 80.7. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Fair. Valid. Known.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 80.7 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to tcgplayer.com's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Fair. Valid. Known. tags above. Long story short, we deemed this a known website, with a low scam probability. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning tcgplayer.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between tcgplayer.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of tcgplayer.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of tcgplayer.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. tcgplayer.com is an innocuous suspicious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether tcgplayer.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether tcgplayer.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, tcgplayer.com.

- Score: 1.4 stars
“Not a happy customer”
I placed an order for 1000 random bulk pokemon cards. I was NOT happy with what I recieved. I reached out, 3 times! To tcgplayer in hopes of resolving my issue. I never recieved a response. Tip for consumers:That they have terrible customer service Products used:None of them Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“They wont refund orders on damaged cards”
They no longer are refund orders for damaged cards Been buying from the site for over 2 years and noticed that before they would resolve issues and step in when you had a bad seller experience but now they just let bad seller sell damaged cards and will refuse to set in even when pictures are provided. Dabbers is the most dishonest seller on the platform. Products used:Trading cards Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Scam artists”
This business is terrible they are just like eBay or Facebook marketplace they are not the sellers they hook you up with a second party took some money from my account and never gave back and the give you the sellers info after purchase which aloud me to see the seller bad report selling damaged fake weighed and resealed packs glue on them. Seller wont respond to message still has package asked him to cancel and tcg to step in to override the order and refund before he sends. They did nothing but tell seller about my bad review and try and resolve. Scam company Tip for consumers:Don't use save money buy from a licensed dealers Products used:Pokemon booster packs Service Value Quality
“Fraud Website”
They sell opened and resealed packs of trading cards, advertised as "new" or "unopened". Bought a $150 box of cards with 10 packs, and every pack was opened. The seals have spaces on each corner where they didn't completely seal it back up, new, unopened packs don't have this. Tip for consumers:Don’t use it, it’s complete fraud Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Terrible TCG site”
Do not use TCG Player. Their customer service is horrendous. They take too long to respond back if you have any issues. I have also had problems with receiving wrong cards or not receiving them at all.
“Sellers negative reviews are deleted by TCG”
The website removes negative feedback for sellers consistently. I've left both good and bad reviews to inform buyers about different seller's ethics. TCG Player has removed every single bad feedback that I've left, for no reason other than "we don't agree". Well, they didn't buy the products, I did. So how can they disagree? Do not trust this site. They lie about the seller's feedback to make more money at the cost of the buyer. Tip for consumers:Don't trust the seller feedback ratings. Products used:Pokemon cards Service Value Shipping Quality
“Everything has been A-OK so far”
TCGplayer is a nice place to shop for and find information on various trading card games (TCG). There are a lot of different third party vendors, similar to the Amazon Marketplace. You can look up their ratings and reviews to decide who you trust to make purchases from. So far, I have made three purchases from their vendors and everything has been fine. Feel free and check them out, if you are looking for a good place to buy various TCG cards and accessories. Tip for consumers:Create an account with them, so you can get their newsletter that gives you information on special sales and other deals, earn rewards and get free standard shipping for your purchases. Products used:Various TCG booster packs and booster boxes
“Fraud sellers”
I purchased 4 borderless solitude and never received them, no response from seller or tcg, had to file a claim with my credit card, piss poor customer service from the guys the girls tried until the "boys" got involved Tip for consumers:go to ebay at least you get tracking with them Products used:foil solitude Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Terrible Communication and Slow Shipping”
I ordered some cards I needed on a Sunday for a tournament thr following weekend. I paid extra for expedited shipping. It garuanteed 4 shipping. So, I felt confident they arrive in time for the tournament. The shipping label was printed the next day, but USPS didn't even receive the package until Wednesday. Now the anticipated arrival date is the following Monday. Literally double the garuanteed delivery time that I paid extra for. Will never order from again. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Card hidden in junk mail”
I purchased one card from TCG, nothing expensive. But they send it in an envelope that looks like junk mail. I nearly threw the entire thing away. Then, I opened the envelope, crumpled and threw away the advertisements inside and found no card. Turns out they put the card INSIDE the advertisement. No sleeve, no top loader. Nothing rigid whatsoever to protect the card. If it weren't a $3 card, I'd bother trying to get my money back. Another player or collector would never send a card in this manner. Shipping
“Binderpos/TCGPlayer refused to help with Issue”
We purchased Binderpos and were told the software could be setup so shipping is disabled. After multiple conversations with Binderpos/tcgplayer reps, it turns out that is not possible. I asked for a manager to call me or if I could talk to someone, they refused and we were told "When you're ready to deactivate your BinderPOS account, feel free to reach out to me directly." No apology was offered, reconciliation of any sort was offered. Tip for consumers:I would suggest using one of the other sites. Products used:Binderpos.com software Service Value Returns Quality
“Magic the gathering”
I got into Magic the gathering and i love it i am really enjoying the new set! I notice a lot of tv/book cerise themes and i would absolutely love to see a Game Of Thrones set! And am wondering why it has never been done that would be so much fun!
“Dissatisfied with the company and the seller.”
They take your money, outsource product, through no fault of my own they have my money and the product! Product was sent to a prison who opened it as a security thing, realized it was shipped out of a home and not a store, prison returned it. I don't get my money refunded or the cards resent from the Store, TCGPlayer!
“Slow and wrong”
I get it I live in canada and take awhile for stuff to get here and delays but for what I have to pay with exhachange rate but for you to $#*! up and send me the wrong cards and be late about it is ridiculous
“Not Impressed with This company!”
On December 26,2023, I have purchased the Phyrexia All Will Be One - collector booster pack for my son. I looked up at the Tracking and it said page not found. I reached out to (i am assuming the seller) he told me it was delivered, I never received it. Then he tells me it was on its way and to be patient. And it will be delivered on the 11th of January. Never came. Then he said it will arrive January 26, still nothing. Then he said there was a delay, I will have them on February 2, got Nothing. I messaged them on the 3rd, the 17 and again on the 13th of March. I received an email from Postmaster that day stating my message did not get delivered. I messaged customer service about the issue on March 25, haven't heard nothing back. Not I am a very frustrated customer. Never again will I buy from them. Products used:Magic cards Service
“Got charged customs fees in its ''my problem''”
I have been using TCGplayer for about 10 years and it was great until 2023, This year I got charged 80$ of customs fees for my packaged and TCGplayer does not want to refund me or take the package back, every order are very slow. I do not recommended it I will used a competitor website for now on. Products used:MTG and Yugioh cards Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Horrible coustomer service”
Their customer service is non existent. I contacted them three weeks and still haven't heard back. And there is other to contact them. Definitely won't be buying from here again. Service Returns
“Excellent Selection of Vendors, Products, and Prices”
I've used this site many times and the large majority of my times using them have been positive. The two negative experiences I've had with TCGPlayer have been as a result of USPS's poor handling of my orders, so it wasn't the site's fault. I've actually found them to be as reliable if not more so than eBay, but this also depends on which seller you choose to buy from. I try to pick verified buyers, or those with 100% positive feedback. I definitely recommend them if you're looking collectibles, especially trading cards. Tip for consumers:Look for sellers with a solid feedback record, will improve your buying experience. Leaving feedback also helps them out, and helps other buyers find their products.
“Bad habits”
Bad habit of hiding negative seller feedback so you can't ever be sure. Even with the sellers with 50k+ trades just ship with the lowest protection possible which ends up with tons of damaged cards that TCGplayer then hides the reviews of and defends despite it happening over and over witht he same seller according to those who have been burned and went out of their way to find the sellers buisness and leave a google review. Tip for consumers:Check the google review feedback of every seller in addition to the tcgplayer, or avoid the extra 5 minutes worth of work to see if a sellers worth it, go to any other card site and have your order done in that same amount of time as it would take to even see if you should order from a TCGplayer seller. Products used:multiple trading card games, pokemon, yugioh, mtg, etc etc Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Customer service people are the stupidest”
I take photos and videotape my sales, customers always complain about not receiving the correct card, so I get one scum ball who was refunded after he complained he received the wrong card and it was damaged. Then they shut me down and remove a month of payments at 4400. 00. The problem with some of the sellers is they work for TCG so you are not getting great service, I purchased boxes from two vendors and both had been repacked ( Amazing Adventurs, Unicorn Card Shop). I sold a box of Commander Legends at the hight of the covid lock down and the kid sprayed it down with Lysol and then complained, I said return it... no the sob at TCG had him return it to them they resold the box and I got the sale taken out of my account and lost the box Tip for consumers:look at bad feedback tcg hide big stores feedback when it is bad Products used:had 4 sales of boxes that had been reboxed and they refused my returns
“Awful Customer Service”
Literally useless customer support Literally useless customer support, Same fees as eBay, no good way to message sellers, no seller protection against harassing buyers, no seller protection, braindead and slow customer service (don't think they even should be called customer service reps, because they don't even know what that means), and an overall terrible platform. Tip for consumers:Use eBay instead, they are at least "not as terrible" as TCG Products used:Magic Cards, Pokemon Cards Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“They are NOT to be trusted!”
I ordered a 150+$ list of cards and they some how lost 26$ of it. I went through various emails, back and forth, even showing proof of the charge that was made for said cards. They tell me that it was from previous cards from that list, which is total BS because i meticulously checked off every card after a successful purchase. THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED! THEY WILL SCAM YOU OF YOUR MONEY! I will be taking my business elsewhere.
“Tcgplayer employees allow abuse from sellers onto their buyers”
Originally was scammed by 3 sellers by giving me the wrong shipping and never receiving the cards followed by 2 of the 3 sellers being abusive towards me as a buyer along with mental and verbal abuse towards me showed proof of both of the sellers aggressive abuse towards me to 3 separate tcgplayer employees they not only all allowed the abuse from the sellers towards me but the sellers have also gotten away with false claims of actually refunding me when i didnt and the 3 employees from tcgplayer did not give a single $#*! and allowed that as well literally over $70 lost and all i got was a lot of verbal and mental abuse from 2 of the 3 sellers as is and tcgplayer apparently allows abuse from sellers to buyers on the website kinda explains why they dont both with a block user button on their website as well but after the worst and $#*!test experience i have seen on tcgplayer both from abusive sellers who should be banned on the spot and tcgplayer employees (2 male 1 female) i legit have logged off from tcgplayer for good along with going as far as blocking tcgplayer on emails as im just legit done with all this bs and allowing abuse on tcgplayer bs as well anyone is better off going to ebay probably a whole lot less abuse from tcgplayer sellers and a lot less bs from tcgplayer themselves allowing such abuse on their website to begin with as is Tip for consumers:just avoid this website in general as the tcgplayer employees are very much incompetent as is and their is no consequences to the sellers who are allowed to abuse the customers as is any way they see fit and you are better off buying from anywhere else like ebay or ideal808 for all for your trading card needs (is not affiliated with either ideal808 or ebay just has has much better and less abusive experiences on both sites compared to tcgplayer as is) Products used:trading cards bought from the website itself Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Ripped Off”
I ordered my cards from them and they were either hacked or incompetent. Sent them to the wrong address and refused to refund. Tip for consumers:Do not use this site. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“FRAUD CHARGERS”
DO NOT USE THIS SITE. Ive used this website with multiple credit cards/multiple times. Confirmed fraud charges days-week after your purchase. DO NOT USE THIS SITE. Products used:never received my product Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
