staterecords.org Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives staterecords.org a medium trust score on the platform: 61.6. It signals that the business can best be defined by the following tags: Small Risk. Standard. Active.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this lower score? We came up with the 61.6 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to staterecords.org's industry. The algorithm detected potential activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Small Risk. Standard. Active. tags above. Long story short, please use caution when using this website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning staterecords.org, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between staterecords.org and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of staterecords.org. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of staterecords.org, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. staterecords.org is a somewhat safer website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether staterecords.org has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether staterecords.org boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, staterecords.org.

Very little information after paying for access to the records. After initial sign-up (which appears to be a one-time fee), you are immediately enrolled into a subscription plan for $19/month. And then, the site asks you to purchase an even higher level of membership for basic information.
Absolutely inaccurate and useless. Don't do it, and once you get in, you need to pay MORE for "certain" information. 100% SCAM
The search results were inaccurate, as well as incomplete. This is a scam.

“Don't waste your time...”

First, they waste your time with the $4.95 7 day trial "report" that has virtually no useful information that cannot be found by using Google... Then they try to up-sell you another $18 "premium access" package after they've already broken their "satisfaction guaranteed" promise for access to "public records" with the first purchase... They are scam artists... Do not waste your time or money with them... Tip for consumers:Don't even waste your time or money... Google is just as effective and a whole lots cheaper...

“Useless”

A waste of time, they provided useless information. I entered a car license plate and got the make and model, but no information on the owner or if it is currently registered. I ran my own name and they wanted more money for a report. Once you click to get info (that turns out to be useless) you are agreeing to be billed annually. Read very carefully and make notes BEFORE you click on anything. They will be happy to point out all the details when they bill you for the next cycle. UPDATE: They did refund my money eventually.

“Not worth any amount of money”

This was a ripoff. The free search appears to find information but after you pay $4.95, the reports are blank. Place of birth was inaccurate. I searched my own name and there was no information and it should have at least found property. It finds some marriage records but it doesn't find divorce or death records. I did 5 searches and information is missing and/or inaccurate. I'm rating this a 1 because zero is not available.

“Inaccurate information horrible customer service”

When I try to look myself up for some information, I was needing every last bit of information that was barely listed was inaccurate. The information I was looking for, wasn't there that is easy to find they claim they get their information from government public sources, but they do not whenever you ask them and read them their own disclaimer which states so. If you want a refund forget about it, they won't give it to you. The site is a scam and fraud. Service Value

“I'd give negative stars if I could”

Total false advertising. Claim to give "Full Report" for $4.95; gave me useless information I can find on a basic internet search. I needed arrest information, and I got a page that said for an "additional $18, they could show more information." That's a scam and a half. A "full report" would show all information. What a ripoff. Looks like a legit state organization; it isn't. I don't think I can show proof of purchase as I paid with paypal; the image will not save as a photo. It's saved as adobe. Tip for consumers:The tip is go elsewhere. You're paying for something you can do a quick google search on for free.

“DO NOT USE THEY WILL STEAL YOU MONEY AND BASICALLY LAUGH ABOUT IT”

If I could leave no stars I would. This is nothing more then a scam. I stared with the trial and was very unhappy. Emailed and attempted to cancel through their site. I was told it would be canceled but I was charged yet again almost $20 for a site I not only do not use but have made multiple attempts to cancel. I was informed its canceled now ( which is most likely a lie since ive yet to receive the confirmation that is was indeed canceled) but there is no way I can get a refund. This is twice now they have charged me. If it happens again im contacting someone to have them investigated and charged. Service Value Returns Quality

“Scam”

Do not use this site. It claims to know all these details and didn't provide any info. I searched my daughters name just to see how accurate this site was and it didn't provide any info other than address, related people and email addresses. Then when I tried to cancel and requested a refund, it kept saying to remove characters that wasn't allowed and wouldn't let me submit my cancellation. Tip for consumers:Do not be conned out of your money for this site! It’s not worth it! Products used:State records search Service Quality

“Absolutely a scam”

Do not try this site. The info is inaccurate. And they steal your money randomly from your account, with no way to cancel, but by mail of your personal id and other personal information.

“Beware, Waste of money”

This site is a waste of money. Doesn't find info on anyone you search even though you know the information is public. I can find more info on Facebook. Waste of 30 bucks. Tip for consumers:If you’re looking to find arrest records on someone you won’t find it on this site. Out of curiosity I entered 6 members of my family and their names wouldn’t even come up. This site found no one…waste of money

“Costly waste of time. Scam”

Don't believe their value proposition. The site is engineered to bait you, not deliver, then pocket a fee. Tip for consumers:Don’t use the site.

“Useless!”

Useless! Staterecords.org couldn't extract any information regarding multiple cases that I personally know about! Waste of money!

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Staterecords.org may not be a scam, but it's not worth any money you pay. It didn't even know about marriage and divorce records that can be easily found for free. It didn't report on arrest records that we know existed. If you want any real information, you have to pay more for what they called "Premium Background information". It's a scam if you ask me. It couldn't even detect my facebook page. What a waste of money and time.

    1. Dawn Langer

It may or may not be a scam, I would say yes. As you first look at site it does say free. That free is with StateRecords.org. You are than taken to Truthfinder. Not where I wanted. to be. Next you have a choice of plan 1. $28.05, or 2. $23.28. I do believe I gave them $4.95 and a renewal after 7 days. Cancelled within 48 hours. Now being billed for the month. Let's see what BBB can do. Also check their Facebook site under Truthfinder.

  2. Jake

StateRecords.org does not deliver any service or product. It will show that you have police record but after you paid, there is no information in their searching service. No data, NOTHING. It's useless. Then they billed me monthly charges even if that is not explicit in their website when you are signing up. They claim that they sent an email with a fine print stating that you will be billed if you did not cancel the trial version. I paid for one time search only and there is no indication on any of the front pages or button you click saying that it is a trial version. I ended up paying $65 for nothing. No data. no service and no information.
