replacements.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives replacements.com one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 90.6. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 90.6 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to replacements.com's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a secure website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning replacements.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between replacements.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of replacements.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of replacements.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. replacements.com is an authentic, safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether replacements.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether replacements.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, replacements.com.

I registered my pattern with Replacements and have waited a while for pieces to show up but when they did show up, I got notified immediately and fortunately for me I was able to get the rest of the pieces and then some that I have been waiting for. They were packaged extremely well and came in perfect condition.

“Appalling behaviour”

I have replaced pieces of my dinner set from this company several times over the last 10 years. A couple of years ago a decorator item I ordered never arrived and I went through the process of claiming from them. Now a grandchild has broken another piece in my dinner set - the highly judgmental accountant has decided that I steal from them and refused my order. Apparently items to Australia are never lost in the post? Disgusting customer service. Not impressed.

“Selling Counterfeits”

I wish I had read all of the complaints - including about selling counterfeits - before I ordered from these people. I ordered replacement dishes from Replacements.com. As soon as they arrived, I could tell most of the dishes they sent me were knockoffs - they were larger, cruder in shape, and whiter than the originals I owned. When I complained, Replacements.com agreed to refund my money - if I mailed back their counterfeits at my own cost! Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Beyond irritated with the crickets in their customer care department!”

Absolutely the worst customer service I've encountered for years... a 1 out of 10. I ordered several plates that added to an existing set. The die lot on their Lenox Chirp Dinner Plate was blotchy and it had a small, blue permanent ink marking on the back (not on original). Drew told me to send him pictures of my original, side by side, with their plate and he would try to find plates in stock that would be satisfactory. It has been 4 weeks, 4 emails, 2 voice messages and a successful return of the defective plates to their customer care team and no one has bothered to even tell me that they are sorry that they don't have a suitable replacement. Tip for consumers:don't bother Products used:none Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Outstanding in every respect”

I have been both a buyer and a seller to Replacements Limited in North Carolina. At age 85 now I don't know that I have ever known a company that has such amiable people working there. Many many of them have been there for 20 plus years. I got to know Bob the owner to some extent just because he walked around and talk to both his customers and his employees. He had regular pizza parties for them and they could bring their dogs to work. It just seemed like it would be a wonderful place to work. That speaks volumes for the owner and training employees. Be assured that when you buy from them you are getting merchandise that has been thoroughly examined for any flaws. This is an outstanding business in every respect. Tip for consumers:Their prices are high but fair considering the huge hard to find inventory and the quality of their products are always as described. I have referred many people to them with 110% satisfaction. Products used:I have purchased both china and Waterford crystal . Service Value Shipping Quality

“Horrible Customer Service”

I ordered four china mugs and paid $9.99 shipping for each item on top of the mug price. One mug arrived broken because their packer stacked 1 mug inside another with only a piece of tissue between them. They were 2 stacks of 2 mugs in a huge box of peanuts. After many emails I have given up attempting to recoup the shipping cost for the 1 broken mug. They refunded the item price only. They will not accept responsibility for the extremely poor packing that caused the breakage. I am also wondering if the mugs are fakes since they have a sticker on the bottom identifying the brand instead of the stamp the older ones I own have. I am so disappointed I did not google the company for reviews before purchasing. My experience with Ebay and the delivery of a fine bone china teacup and saucer was divine compared to this. “Replacements.com provides no customer service”

I placed an order for 2 plates and decided I needed 4. I sent a cancellation which was ignored until until three days later after the original order was shipped. I placed a second order for 2 plates and again decided I needed 4. I sent a change order which was ignored until 3 days later after the original order was shipped. I will place an order for 6 place settings but it won't be from Replacements.com since they don't provide any customer service.

“Hi shipping price, wrong size, useless customer support”

Bought replacement glass, paid 125% of the cost of glass for shipping. Received wrong size item. Per conversation with customer service: it is my fault. My options? Pay again 125% of item cost to ship it back.

“Beware - Quality of Retired China Patterns.”

I have ordered many items from Replacements Ltd (replacements.com) to fill in older patterns of china that my grandmother's and mom passed down to me. This time, however, I received five items, four of which had noticeable wear and damage that could not be attributed to the manufacturing process. Two Oval Serving Bowls and a Round Serving Bowl all had small chips along the rim. Also, a 16-in Serving Platter's rim showed wear along both its top and bottom edge, most likely due to repeated rubbing while being taken in and out of a cabinet that it did not actually fit well in. The Serving Platter also showed crazing over the entirety of its smooth surface. It's worth noting that all of these items were sold for full price. They were not listed under the Minor Imperfection or Major Imperfections sections that discount the pieces either 25% or 50% respectively. I have bought pieces from them in the 25% off category and none of them showed the damage that these pieces show. I did speak to a very courteous and professional customer service agent who, after speaking to her manager, was only able to offer me a $30 e-coupon (because I had been a long time customer). I then spoke directly to a manager who steadfastly stated Replacements Ltd does not sell chipped items, even though I had sent him multiple pictures showing that. He questioned that the pictures actually showed chips. He instead, insisted that the damage/defects in the numerous photos I sent him represented imperfections (my view was these were crazing, chips and a gouge through the glaze) that customers should expect in discontinued patterns. When I pointed out to him that these items were sold for full price and were not listed in the minor damage or major damage sections, he said Replacements has a different standard - a lower bar - for older discontinued china patterns. He said customers should expect minor damage to pieces that are nearly a century old. When I asked him to differentiate minor damage we should expect vs Minor Imperfections in their 25% off section, he again, said they have a different standard for discontinued patterns. When I asked him where this was stated on their website, he said that was something all customers should already know. He went on the state that Replacements Ltd absolutely does not sell pieces with chips or cracks. It was at that point I drew his attention to an order I had made around the same time where Replacements had sold me a Hurricane Sconce from a different pattern that indeed had a chipped globe. (Replacements did give me a full refund for that item.) But when it comes to old china, this manager was not willing to budge one inch. As a matter of fact, he said when they received the china from me (I'm not paying any amount for chipped china), they would be re-listed on the website as having no defects or imperfections! Seriously, how can anyone make that claim without seeing the pieces in person? It shows how completely he dismissed my concerns about the quality of the china in question and also reveals, in glaring fashion, the hubris of at least Replacements Ltd manager. My advice is be very wary about purchasing retired china patterns from Replacements Ltd. To be quite honest, I find it unbelievably sad that it's possible to get a more fair assessment of the quality of an item on eBay or Etsy. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Not the same as the origingal”

I ordered new plates to replace some in my Pfaltzgraff Lido Beach set. The new plates look like they are knock offs. There is hardly any pattern definition. They are a different color and a different weight than the originals Tip for consumers:Tip: Don't use this site. Products used:Dinner plates Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Not worth selling”

I spent more than $100 for shipping. I wrapped everything securely as they instructed. Among more than $500 worth of items according to their culculation, $60 worth items were reported broken during shipping. The items are bone China and they are really hard to break. The fragile stickers seemed to have done nothing to do with shipping. I don't know if it is USPS or replacements.com. Please note that they might tell you that items were broken even though you followed their wrapping instructions. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Dishonest and will rip you off”

I recently sent my china and crystal to Replacements Ltd to sell after getting an offer from them. The crystal had never been used and had been packed away for over 30 years. Surprise, surprise, Replacements Ltd told me that the crystal, according to their inspection, was excessively scratched and they could not provide pictures to support their claims. So of course they reduced the rate of the crystal by 25%. I requested the crystal be returned. Their inspection of the china I sent was very questionable, saying one piece was broken, no way I believe that either with the packing that was completed with the china before sending. I would give them no stars but it wouldn't let me. Replacements Ltd is a rip off and very dishonest. Find another place to sell your china, crystal, and other collectibles. “Not worth it to sell to them.”

I offered them 8 Villeroy & Boch salad plates in mint condition. They were selling them on their site for $80 each. They offered me $2 a plate!. It was going to cost me more than $16 to ship them to Replacements and I would end up losing money. I'll sell them on line at a loss, but still do better than dealing with Replacements. Products used:None, I was selling to them, and they offered a ridiculously low price. Service Value

“Looks like they are selling for way more than items are worth?”

I went through a tedious process of taking photos of the Versace, Lynn Chase, Gorham and other hard to find pieces of china that I no longer wanted and desired to sell. By the time, I received the offers to purchase from Replacement, I had spent hours sending info and photos to Replacements just to see if they would be interested in buying from me. I was STUNNED to see the low offers. They are selling a "discounted" Versace plate (discounted to $259.95 from $319.95) but only offered me $103 for my new, never used, mint condition plate. One of my Lynn Chase pieces was a "5 3/4" berry bowl" which they are selling on their site for $109.95. They offered me $3.00! YEP! That is what I said, THREE DOLLARS! Again, ALL of the pieces that I have offered for sale are new, never used, mint condition pieces, some of it still in it's original box. I could go on with other pieces. But I think you get the idea here. Replacements.com is REALLY money hungry when they want to give someone nothing for what they will charge outrageous prices for. Tip for consumers:Beware of their high prices as they purchase at extremely lower prices than what they sell for. Products used:I didn't buy or sell Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Greed Has Taken Over this Site”

So disappointed that their prices are outrageous now. I don't even check there anymore. What a shame. Value

“PRICE GOUGING”

ITEMS PURCHASED HAD OLD PRICE TAGS OF $9.00 AND $12.00. THEY CHARGED ME OVER $150. I CALL THIS PRICE GOUGING. Tip for consumers:I would never purchase from this company again. Now I know why Lenox told me that they were not affiliated with this site in any way, shape or form. Products used:Called up to complain about pricing. Told me that they didn't pay that for it and that the price was the price. So, one item had a price tag of $9.00 on it which they charged me $79 for. The other had a price tag of $12.00 and they charged me $98. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“From Cottage Industry to Big Biz”

A couple of ladies started this china replacement service in a garage. Now it is a huge and successful operation. They have a vast inventory of discontinued patterns as well as new pieces. I keep them bookmarked for my Spode "Pearl River"... but quite honestly I prefer to do business with ebay... better deals to be had. Not that I have criticisms with Replacements.com... they are willing to take your money, when you become desperate for that missing piece. They saw a niche and seized upon it. "It's not personal... it's just business" right? I am giving them five stars for their efficiency and organizational attributes.

“Product not as described.”

I was expecting China and received plastic. When I tried to find the original description it was not available. Since I have to pay for returns I feel taken advantage of. Tip for consumers:Since the product that arrived is not what I ordered and shipping is on me to return it I feel taken advantage of. I broke my own rule: if a store has a poor return policy - in this case I pay for shipping - then don't do business with them. I'm very disappointed because I really had great hopes for this company both to buy and sell product. Products used:None. Product description was wrong and I feel taken advantage of. Shipping is expensive and returns are at the buyer's expense. This alone should be cause for pause. In a era where shipping is free, I will not take the risk again ordering from this stie. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Total ripoff”

I have four sets of antique China. When I look at their offer and what they sell it at, it's at a 75% markup. I live a half hour away and because of their lowball offer I have to ship it. No thank you. Not worth my time and energy nor cost effective Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“I was very happy with their service”

I was moving and through some mix up my flat wear was left behind, then stolen. It was out of production but my sister told me about this site. I was able to replace everything plus add some pieces. It arrived in protective sleeves in a timely manner. I am very pleased.

“Terrible customer service”

I received plates that were in good condition, as pictured. However I called up to ask a simple question about obtaining the invoices, as there was a problem with my login, and the customer service rep was incredibly rude. Instead of answering my question, he spoke to me as if I'm a computer illiterate. The question could have been answered with two simple sentences. Instead, he started explaining: 1-how to create an account (detailed directions); 2-the benefits of having an account (detailed description) He went on and on and wouldn't listen to me so I could get an answer. When I finally asked him to be still and listen to my question, he said, if you don't want me to speak, then we will scan in the invoices and email them to you. Again I said, please tell me how to find the invoice. In the end, amidst a lot of unncecesary verbiage. I was finally able to ascertain the answer: 1-create a new account; 2-click on order history and you'll find all the receipts He could have said that to begin with and wecould havefinished in one minute. But to give me a long unnecessary soliloquy and not listen to a word I was saying, is rude and offputting. So much so that despite the fact that I was satisfied with the order, I don't want to do business with this company again. I expect when I call customer service, the rep should listen to my question, give a concise answer, and treat me in a courteous and respectful manner. And if I have further questions, I can ask. Tip for consumers:products are good. customer service is terrible Products used:plates Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Australian buyer delighted with Replacements shopping experience”

I am an old hand at buying all sorts of items online from overseas, but often find sellers of fragile items dont supply to Australia- or charge killer prices for S&H. China and glassware are really difficult to get. Not so Replacements! I recently purchased from them and Im blown away by the speed, quality of packing and overall service. In particular, the cost of shipping was exceptionally good and handled by FedEx. Having sourced the same items at the same sell price from 2 well known department stores over there, their shipping costs quoted were almost double the Replacements cost. My order attracted some local taxes, and this was collected and paid by the carrier without me having to complete any additional paperwork - brilliant. I can unreservedly recommend this terrific seller to Aussies wanting to access thousands of product choices confidently with no fuss.

“Good info, although the photos and descriptions could...”

Good info, although the photos and descriptions could be improved - not sure what they actually have in stock. Registered a china pattern with them a couple of years ago and have not had a single response that they found a piece for me, so am thinking that there's not a lot of manpower behind the site to keep it current, or people looking for your requested pattern. Prices set on the replacement site are quoted on other sites (such as eBay as price references), but they are no way near what the market will pay for such pieces. What they are asking for replacement china on their site is astronomical compared to what you could find on other websites that sell porcelain or china goods. They might have what you are looking for, although every china pattern I am interested in and have checked on their site, they don't have the actual pieces in stock.

“Selling to them is not worth my time.”

Out of the blue, they emailed me an "offer to purchase" items I possess and they, eBay, Amazon, and the dark net markets do not have. For the time and cost to pack and ship, I would net Less Than $Zero. Offer me more than pennies for something a customer has asked you to find and is willing to (and will) pay 2,000x that amount.

“I just love this place”

I just love this place. I've had some hard-to-find Corning and Corelle pieces that I've found nowhere else -- found them at Replacements. Most recently, I was looking for stainless steel flatware pieces; I had absolutely no information on a manufacturer or age. Went in under "bamboo" and "miscellaneous", and there they were. Also was able to date my grandmother's old flatware from the early 1940s. Really love this place. Phone customer service people are so very nice, too.

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet.
