deviantart.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives deviantart.com one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 87.8. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 87.8 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to deviantart.com's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a secure website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning deviantart.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between deviantart.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of deviantart.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of deviantart.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. deviantart.com is an authentic, safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether deviantart.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether deviantart.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, deviantart.com.

Inconsistent and vague guidelines. My account was suspended for producing content that other far larger creators often posted daily. Was not given a notice of what post violated what policy and my entire account was terminated before I could address their problem.
I hate it. All the AI-generated slop, the fill-in "memes", the dumb protests, the hate arts, the repost arts...I could go on.And I have an account on this site...
These guys can't even host a contest properly & the winners that they've chosen shocked the everyone. Lol what a joke
I am done with this website. I'm become a degenerate website heavily displaying violence and sexual content. It has also become a weird place for foot fetish art. What is even worse is that anyone came see this filth, even if you don't have an account! DeviantArt needs to have a major clean house. Will never use this site again.
Deviantart is a garbage dumpster. I been there since 2007 and never seen it go down so hard. With their constant shoving of AI "art" in the search engine, art taken down for "popular media and is not canon for child character to be drawn as an adult since minor"? Okay. Doesn't explain one artist cherrysdesigns art taken down over an adult ninja school girl adoptable for consider child "p0rn".Bad enough my art keeps getting taken down over pink SLIME art which has nothing to do with body fluids and was tag mature.Finding actual human staff is like pulling teeth. Keep getting the generic violate policy. Funny they allow soft vore and some sex. Gawd forbid adult characters cosplaying for glorifying child p0rn.
DeviantArt supports cyber bullying underage predators and way to inappropriate art!!! I've been on the website for a good 6 years. I have now erased my account for a good reason. I happen to be a very big Pokémon fan necessarily, the one that I liked so much there's barely any art of it and if you want some you have to purchase a subscription which happens to be at least 98.5% of the time. You're chances of finding free Glaceon art is extremely limited plus it's very hard to navigate through the website. You click on the wrong thing and you might just be signing up for subscription that you don't even know that you did and you get charged and if they can't suck the money out of you automatically, they just send you a bill. I'm sorry DeviantArt I'm leaving and NEVER coming back!!!
I have refined my search parameters on DeviantArt to get what I want to see: Anthropomorphic Foxes and Felines. Realistic, attractive, cute, nude not lewd. I quickly skim past hanging genitals, sex acts, unbelievably huge breasts and unbelievable body building. My preferences may not match yours, but "to each their own".
Have had and used a DeviantArt account for donkeys years (ever since November or December 2019 to be exact) and always had a good time. Just however out of nowhere in 2022 I slowly began to go on DeviantArt more frequently than expected. No wonder when I started acting like this but I think it was in May 1st of 2022, but I'll always have a soft spot for DeviantArt considering I quickly made many success with my XxTheGreat12 account and got many watchers.Only flaws are that approximately 39 of users here on DA are pedos or are problematic people/trolls. Don't know which one of these users (who unfortunately are still hopelessly problematic like that to this day), who I shall not name, and both have creepy OCs and make unsightly fetish art (especially of child characters). To make it exact the former's OC is of some cat with a blue shirt and the latter's OC is literally just an indigo recolor of a raccoon character from some random children's show.Despite these flaws, I continue liking this site and go on it everyday. I just hope this website one day starts to have less drama than ever, because, you see, hereby another flaw is that there is always lots and lots of drama on the site.
Just laughably bad. I wanted to hire a scifi illustrator so did a google search. That simple. Never previously heard of them. The absolute CRAP idea of answering automated and unconnected questions instead of speaking direct to a sales person is a chronically bad business model.Literally got nowhere.Bad for illustrators.Bad for those wanting to hire illustrators.Guess its back to the drawing board....
Should be shut down. Nothing but crap digital art which is drowning out the real artist.Anyone comes on here now with a paint program posts a drawing they did on a tablet and they think they are the best thing since sliced bread. Bull. Just weirdos posting some crap that a kid could do better on a real art group on FB.Not only that, nonces put Digital art of half naked Japanese school girls.Should be charged with child porn.
DeviantArt is no longer a good program for artists to share their creativity. Their policies allow pedophilia and gore content but yet they ban anyone who labels their artwork carefully for older audiences and can't tell the difference between Photoshop and fiction. The app is filled with double standards and the website is no longer a positive environment. Either change the name of the app or shut the whole thing down.
I have been on this site for 10+ years and I am SHOCKED how a once beloved site has become such an unrecognizable mess. This site doesn't care about its users anymore. I've submitted multiple tickets in regards to missing comments in a reply thread over the years (4 years to be exact. Since Eclipse) and all are met with generic responses. I've even suggested possible solutions but they seem to be ignored. I've asked for a manager as well, in which case they 'mysteriously' stop responding.I have YEARS worth of roleplays I can't view due to their broken comment section. They don't care. Avoid this site, any sense of community that was once there has been destroyed.
i am deviantart user for 5 years but only active for 3 years. why tho? same as everyone else (yes, i'm repeating the title), the site becoming unusable right after eclipse replaces the old design around 2020. additionally, i despised to AI-generated "arts". so i'm include the reason why i'm quitting from the website.
Trash pit cesspool for people who glorify blatant mass-scale plagiarism and hate artists. They're not on artists' side, they're incredibly greedy. If they wanted more activity on their site, they should've spent money on making it not janky and broken for once, instead of making a glorified plagiarism algorithm while stabbing the backs of their countless users.
After many years of being member at dA, I've quit more than 4 years ago for good after one disaster layout after another. Not to mention, the owner and the other admins doesn't give a crap about anything and on top of that, they're outright enabling cyberbullying and allowing grotesque pornography and way too many ppl should had been banned forever. Also let's not even mention ai, something that many artists and designers were against it from day one.But really though, Deviantart should have had their website completely shut down for a long time ago. Ut no longer has purpose. Most serious artists has left this website for years.
Yea… it’s only good for saving great and decent quality art that’s not problematic and toxic. Whether you block people and turn on the mature content filters, you’ll always get toxic content. No wonder some people stick to tumblr. I’m annoyed at the 100 tag block and 24 or 48 art per page limit unless you want to scroll down through hundreds if not thousands of content…Can’t change your username at all even though a lot of us users are ashamed or embarrassed of our old names…
Greedy for money, removes pretty much all mature content. Has insanely stupid ToS regarding nudity and intercourse.Core membership is useless, and why would anyone buy one piece of art for $5?People still upload ripped content (especially real person photoshoots)Favorites can't be set to private, even if you remove the widget from your page people still can access it with the typical /favorites link
This website is a bad website for professional artists. There's no quality control, meaning that something bad will get more views than professional-level art. You'll get a lot of porn, fetish art, low effort 'art', spam and even art theft. The new layout (Eclipse) copies Artstation's layout, and there's no way to turn it off.The moderators are lazy and don't consider hiring more people. If you take art seriously, don't use DeviantArt. Try something like Artstation or Pixiv.
I joined back in early 2000s due to illness I was inactive for few years, I logged back in a few days ago and here are my observations.1: its full of potentially illegal porn or underage anime girls and illegal Ai porn including beastie and furies. there are people who upload deep fakes of celebrities also2:the DA forums are full of trolls and cyber bullies. when I returned the first thing I was greeted by was some creepy artist : Bartales that posts nothing but creepy images of children.3:when you report images of minors DA staff ask you for proof as in they want you to prove that the artists uploaded minors before they will do anything which is wrong on so many levels.Avoid like the plague unless you are rolf harriss and if thats the case you are sick.
They support Israel and the genocide of innocent Palestinians. They also gladly give a platform to AI "art" thiefs. The site just overall lost all originality and personality it had in the 2010's, where you could personalize your own page as an attempt to oversimplify everything and look like ArtStation. You suck.

“A true disappointment to artists everywhere”
There was once a point where I'd frequent this website and I could find community. Nowadays it's a shell of its former self - drowned in AI generated content that the new staff fully enables, ridiculous and unwanted changes to the website nonstop with no attempt to discuss these changes with the community beforehand. Recently, they've hidden the cheapest option for their premium membership to force the users to pay them MORE. You can work around this stupid change by finding a direct link to the old purchase page...? They've also removed/hidden specific and seeming random features with no announcement or without acknowledging any questions about it, such as a statistic page in your earnings that shows you the total amount of money you made on days that you've made sales. This website is a mess, don't bother with it if you truly value art. Products used:Core membership Service Value
“Got lots of badges”
I'm a young woman with an orientation difference, and I'm full of talent, in writing, music, and drawing. I've joined this site after learning internet safety, which I didn't know much about before getting my new laptop for Christmas last year. Thank god I've learned internet safety, recently. So many users have gotten themselves into trouble, for harassing, threatening, or beating teens down. Taking advantage of them. I'd say if you're an adult it's okay for you to join the site. If you are a teen, please get off the site. It's not for children under the age of 21. Those are the rules. But on the bright-sight, I've gotten many favorites for my grim-reaper and the gray alien I've drawn. I still plan on drawing more to come, and I really love the black with the sparkles on the core membership. It makes a good-wall paper, including the snakes, and skulls.
“Need to get this off my chest”
Okay so this is a long rant of experience. Its gonna have some advice as well. If you are a active member of deviantart you might wanna read this. Alright so regarding the forums. I think everyone needs to hear this, this is overlooked at times. In the forums it can be unpredictable at times. If you're new to using it please be aware, there are many trolls in the forums. Doesn't matter what topic or what side of the forum your in the trolls are always there. They will reply negatively, for no reason. Do not give them a reaction, dont go to their accounts and leave comments. Move on ignore the comments they cannot hurt you unless you give them a reason too. Block them, if you can. (I dont know if mass reporting works for this situation...) If you try to report trolls deviantart will tell you to block them they wont do anything about the troll. So block them and avoid them. Art thieves are rampant on deviantart. Be aware it happens to anyone on the platform. I'm a victim to this, happened to me on several occasions. File a DMCA claim to get the art taken down. There are many creeps on deviantart. That like to use people and fend on users. Please be cautious on this site. Lots of things get overlooked because moderators aren't doing what they should. And sometimes they like to use people to draw very inappropriate things. Doesn't matter the age either. Dont open requests because you could attract these types of people. I dealt with many nasty users while on deviantart. I seen users defend art thieves. Drawn cp posted that should've been removed. Many users who were groomed by adults to draw fetish porn for them. I've been trolled, and attacked by many people. I was featured in a journal where someone told users to go after me. My watchers didn't care about me being bullied. No one on deviantart is your friend remember that. Deviantart is unpredictable, dangerous, and very notorious for being a terrible place. Lots of questionable things are going on, on this site. So if you plan on joining you better be prepared. Forgot to mention I seen moderators respond to trolls and took action on users. But they ignore actual complaints and reports that need to be addressed. I seen someone get stalked on all their social media by a troll. Deviantart mods did not do anything to this user at all. I watched someone continue to steal art and no one did anything or wanted to do anything. This site is filled with very terrible people. I think it's time for serious artists to leave deviantart. The place isn't what it is to be. The site moderators do not care about it's users. Bullying, art thieves, drawn cp, and many other questionable things are going on there. It's a huge mess. The site is filled with porn, legit porn and fetish art. It's too far gone at this point. If you plan on joining stay to yourself. And be safe, please be safe. I say this as a adult now, I've seen many things go down on this website that stuck with me until this day. Tip for consumers:New users of deviantart please be safe. Also avoid deviantart if you haven't joined it.
“One of the WORST sites.”
These people claim that they are open to all art. I've had an account with them for about a month. I've posted some art work and the next day I get a notice that it was a violation to their "sexual terms and service". It's my 3d character clothed posing that's it. After reading through the terms several times I see nothing that violates the terms and service. After trying to contact and ask them if it can be pointed out, I get no response, and the only response I did get was a bot. Now its at the point where they are making excuses and calling a "etiquette policy" again reading through it it has nothing to do with what's in my photo, there is clearly worse things on that site than what I posted and that stuff has not been taken down. I'm currently looking into new sites that are modern and supportive being a paying customer for that account I should NOT have to fight to keep my art work up. Whoever runs this site needs to give it up to someone who knows what they are doing. Service Value Quality
“Some Good Art, But...”
Over the years, I have enjoyed looking at fan art drawings of various cartoon characters. But in recent years, my enjoyment has been tarnished. Sites like this one have members who have screws loose, and show off their dependencies of their personal crutches, making me feel guilty about my own art, giving me fear that I would be too dependent on my own personal crutches. I occasionally can also get upset about how some cartoon characters are used in some of these pictures, hurting my interest in these characters. That is why I have fun creating new characters of my own these days, to get my mind off other people's art and characters. Also, as a result, I can now see why it is a bad idea for someone to continue someone else's creations.
“Don't use”
Deviantart is disgusting. I started visiting this website when I was a kid and now that I'm older I realize that it is not acceptable. The rules are nonexistent and there are creeps everywhere. I like some fetish art but recommending underage characters is unacceptable. You can scroll down in the comments and see what kind of sick people are using this site. Reporting does basically nothing and most of the time it won't let you report because it says it was already reported and the moderators said it was acceptable. Also they shouldn't have kids and adults on the same site. I say steer clear and don't let your kids on this site. Service Quality
“Full of AI ART (UPDATE:In Support of bad things)”
They support Israel's genocide on Gaza. Check the United Nations website(ohchr. Org without the spaces) for more info They just gave ai "art" a Daily Deviation (Basically they promote an artwork on the site to others) dA has been sucking the soul of the site and everything about what the the old dA was all about. Not to mention some people's profiles are bugged out and can't edit subgalleries after creation. Tip for consumers:How little it values it's customers, and supports false info Products used:Core, Subgallries, Customization, and image insertion in descriptions.
“Awful Content!”
I sometimes spend my time checking out the new art on sites, but on this one I can't scroll an inch without being bombarded with fetish porn of characters. Not only that, but thanks to the site promoting $#*! like this, I can't look up some characters without one of the first things I see being a fetishized version of them! Some aren't even adults, I've seen inflation and vore of straight up children! The only reason I remain on the site is for the genuine good art, but even that might not be enough, I would never recommend this site. Service Value Quality
“BEWARE: DeviantArt is fetishville!”
DeviantArt is a very toxic website and is full of fetishes. Even though DeviantArt has a setting where you can disable mature content, some fetishes will still be uncensored. There's also lots of p_rn on this website as well as lots of perv_rts in the community, so beware of disturbing content, especially if making a YouTube video on DeviantArt! Tip for consumers:Be careful! Products used:My eyes Service Value Quality
“DeviantArt have a Bad Moderation Team! They will not respect you!”
A week ago, I joined DeviantArt and created an account under the username "seospecialist," reflecting my 15 years of experience as an SEO specialist. Additionally, I shared some of the website-related artwork I had created. To my surprise, I recently received an email from DeviantArt notifying me that my account has been suspended, accompanied by the brief comment "spammer" from the administrator. I am genuinely perplexed by their decision and find their lack of respect and decency disheartening. It is crucial for them to learn to value their users and make more informed judgments regarding account management. I feel dehumanized by their treatment. While I understand that spammers pose challenges, it is unjust for me to bear the brunt of their frustration. It is disheartening when a platform fails to treat its users with fairness and consideration. Service Value Quality
“Just love this site and finding other artists!”
Just love this site and finding other artists! I would say one down side is the number of people trying to sell their stuff on Etsy or other sites. I am more about sharing my ideas with others, getting comments on my Cosplay costumes, helpful critiques, etc... Also I have found some wonderful art prints to purchase from very talented artists.
“Beware! Horrible horrible site”
Horrible horrible site! Your photos will be shown all over Google search, even if you have private adult content! I cannot say enough bad things about DeviantArt. The platform has malfunctions everyday and hardly works I would choose zero stars if it would let me! Tip for consumers:Beware if you use site your photos even intimate private ones will be on Google search for everybody to see. There are alot of hackers and theirs that will steal your photos Products used:None , horrible horrible site
“You have to pick through the dung pile to find the...”
You have to pick through the dung pile to find the diamond ring with this site. Art is subjective and all but sometimes it goes without saying that some people just don't have talent. Most of the people on here are younger than 13 (and say they're older) and offended or put off by anything that isn't completely positive about their work. Anyone older than that is usually an elitist, cyber bully, or fan girl who draws bubbly looking anime guys making out. Its rare that you'll find something you'll enjoy since now you have to pay for pretty much anything useful pertaining to the search engine on the site. Prepare to be harassed by children and ADULTS begging you to write or draw you something for FREE because a couple bucks is too much for your hard efforts. Also, expect for people to steal your art. There are some good people on this site and excellent art, you just need a ton of patience. Value
“People on DA suck a$$”
It happened last year, quit within couple of months because a certain person made fun of one of my works one time. Besides the bullying one of the most infuriating problems is that if your not doing pornhub fetish crap or fancy rich people digital art then you basically don't exist. I do art the old fashioned way with pencil on paper, I don't know how that digital stuff works and don't care. It's nearly impossible for someone starting out to get recognized.
“It needs to be shut down”
The staff will do absolutely nothing about bullying. In fact, the bullies there are actually greatly respected and playing the victim card earns them much more respect and results in you being attacked. I've reported a false call out journal made against me and even a popular bully who blasted my name in the suggestions forum when I wanted to remain anonymous for that reason and they administrators said that they don't care. Do not join this site. It's nothing more than a bullying site that hosts art. Do not give them any business whatsoever.
“Please be careful Staff isn't doing their jobs as well anymore: c”
I found the site through friends 4-5 years ago and it was great. Until last year when they started to dramatically change things. The staff has gotten either lazier, stupider or maybe they do the same thing on their hidden accounts (who knows really) But harassment, trolls, theft and all the other bull crap on there has escalated and you can report all you want but they just tell you to block when about 2 years ago they would take action on these things. I have been harassed for over a YEAR, on and off and even on another site. They never done anything but two years ago they did something about a user going around my blocks and bans just to try and harass me. Service
“Worst art website”
No recognition for your work, and people here are blind and won't listen to you if another user is trying to take you down. It looks like a friendly website at first but trust me, this site is corrupted and filled with people who are just abusers of the rules or worst. Don't waste your time.
“Wayyy to much nudity.”
Everywhere you go, nudity and violence and overall disturbing themes appear, with or without an account you're getting spammed with these images, which are getting promoted instead of the people that actually work hard on their work. And even though there's a button to sensor this kind of content, there's still very much disturbing stuff. If you're a serious artist looking to make a living out of this, please pick another website. I will say though, that the HUD and the way you can join groups in kinda nice. Hope this gave some insight. (The image below shows just the tip of the iceberg of what you will see on this website, and this is taken from scrolling down the website main page for 20 seconds) Quality
“Dangerous and unpredictable”
This used to be an art community where I was proud to draw for but not anymore. It is a shell of what it once was. The site has been irreparably torn by the toxicity, drama. And neglect from the staff. The user base has become dangerous and unpredictable. Some of them are alt-right or even Nazis. (i am not kidding) At this point attempting to talk to users or work with them only puts you at risk for getting hurt. This site must be avoided at all costs. Go to art station, twitter, or even Fur Affinity if you want to have an enjoyable art experience. Tip for consumers:If you use this site do your own thing and do NOT associate with the userbase Products used:Deviantwear (no longer produced) Service Value Quality
“Contest Cheaters”
People cheat in the contest hosted on the website. I saw one person who won second place in a video game character contest. They traced an official artwork of Adult Link. From Nintendo's Zelda franchise. The artwork media was traditional. They used a yellow piece of paper. Didn't even color anything except for the eyes. No background was added to the work. As well as no unusual markings or rips in the clothing or sword. This person wins "Second Place" for something they traced. I zoomed in on the work. Looked it over several times from top to bottom. Not a single mistake in the line work. Again beware people will do anything to win a contest on the site. Service Value Quality
“Banned because of trolls”
I was a user on DA for five years it was on this site that I first started writing fan fiction which gave me the confidence to write my own works I feel what killed this site wasn't just the fact that the owners became greedy but also they allowed trolls to attack other users in January of this year my account was closed down due to trolls currently beside focusing on building my following up with my writing I am also looking for another site like DA this site used to be a safe haven for artists writers and photographers but that was before wix decided to use it to make money. The trolls now rule this site Service Value Quality
“Really whacky!”
I spent a grand total of five minutes on this site. When I confirmed my e-mail address I realised I wrote a typo in my username. Okay, I'm going to quickly fix it... No way! They wanted me to pay for change my username. Seriously? XD "Alas", I had to deactivate the account before I even could take a look around. I can't believe it exists.
“Horrible, deplorable, unable to even use it!”
This website is actually impossible to navigate, full of fake art made by fake people to profit off of gullible children, and also benefits and supports a literal new age genocide! DISGUSTING! DO NOT USE! Service Value Quality
“Never works.”
I made an account with deviantart a month ago and to this day it refuses to let me in. Ive tried this on other computers, on different search engines, and the website will never let me log in OR create a new account. Other people i've talked to have had the same problem and apparently the "help desk" has no idea what to do either. Sticking to Tumblr and other websites for people to see my art. It would be horrible if i had a lot of art posted to deviantart BEFORE this all happened just to lose it all. Thank god.
“Staff”

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies this service works and is trustworthy. It costs only $6.49/month but is worth the cost. U.S., UK, EU, Swiss, and Canadian residents only. Click below.
