How the scam works:
(with video below) You have landed at your destination and are happy to start your well-deserved vacation. Either in the airport or at any popular place (Eiffel Tower, Sacre Couer, Colisseum, etc), a kid comes up to you and says: “Welcome to our country, please accept this bracelet as a hospitality gift”, while she is putting a colorful and complicated-looking thing on your hand. “Oh, nice”, you might say, such friendly people.
In fact, what they are putting on your relaxed hands is actually a double bracelet, looped together, that will get your hands tied for a few seconds. As dumb as this sounds, getting handcuffed while scammers run away with your bags is something that still happens.
