The online world has been going nuts this week about something the proved to be just another scam: a free massage gun on Amazon. The trick is really believable and you could easily fall for it – even if it’s a different item. You’ll see why below.

The Amazon Massage gun scam works like this. A user who has been selling many fake items through the Amazon Brushing technique built up a great profile, marked with “Bestseller.” As a result, all his products show up in the Amazon algorithm amongst the first. The store is called BUTYCE but don’t get fooled; it could be another Amazon shop with decent reviews.

So what’s up with the free massage gun on Amazon? These suspicious stores created a viral campaign on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook that promises that whoever buys the massage gun using the code will get it for free!

There is no surprise that thousands of people started sharing the free massage gun code right, left, and center.

Bogus Amazon Free Massage Gun Code

Most of the excited tweets look like this: “I literally just got this $120 massage gun for FREE! I wanted to share with my Twitter homies (seen on FB). Use both codes: WFM2Q5G4 and WI2NLH8Q.” The prices vary between $120 and $140.

They didn’t know that the promo is a scam, as it requires those who wanted the item to provide a lot of personal information, such as full name, address, and phone number. So if you come across this promotion – whether it’s for an Amazon massage gun, a tablet, or any other household item – now you know what ‘free’ really means.

Stores like BUTYCE are everywhere, and their number is increasing, so beware. They build up trust first, and people fall for their scams as they see the high Amazon rating.
