yummly.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives yummly.com a medium-high trust score on the platform: 75.5. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Standard. Valid. Common.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 75.5 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to yummly.com's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Standard. Valid. Common. tags above. Long story short, this site's trust score still warrants a little caution. Use common sense when using this website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning yummly.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between yummly.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of yummly.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of yummly.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. yummly.com is a likely trustworthy website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether yummly.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether yummly.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, yummly.com.
Online Reviews of yummly.com
-
- Score: 1.2 stars
“Horrid! Do not download for any reason.”
I signed up for a free trial and I really regret doing so. Not only am I not able to cancel, the app won't let me delete my account because I have an active subscription! Also, the recipes were entirely unimpressive. Save yourself the hassle and do not mess with this garbage site. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“I would not recommend this product.”
I have only used this product 4 times, with in 6 months.each time I had to replace the batteries. After replacing the batteries you have to wait 30 minutes. Save your money and buy an old fashioned thermometer. Products used:Yummly Bluetooth thermometer Service Value Quality
“The most frustrating recipe site”
I never write bad reviews... but I have had it with the click bait from yummly.com. You search for something and up pops yummly. "10 Best Recipes for X". Then you click on it. Then it asks you to answer 10 minutes worth of BS questions that have nothing to do with what you search for... first few times I played along thinking I must be doing something wrong. Why am I being asked about if I want beef in my recipe when I specifically clicked on 10 Best Ground Turkey Recipes? Hmmm... Then they start asking for personal information, emails, etc. Jeez... this site is a WASTE of TIME! There are all sorts of great individual websites and companies out there with clean, easy interfaces. Sometimes the ads get a little intrusive with some but hey, at least they provide me a good service and information so I'll deal with it. Yummly.com... NO Thank you. Waste.
“Complete fakes”
Nothing short of an abusive piece of advertising bait to people that are looking for genuine answers. I want real, Not this. Anyone that can provide a service that is verified with its suggestions will get my sub for sure.
“Terrible Customer Service”
I got a meat thermometer for my son for Christmas. It arrived and did not work. It would not turn on/charge. The only way to get in touch with Customer Service is through email. Prior to reaching out to them, we researched and found YouTube video for troubleshooting. Tried all steps in video and still did not power on. Reached out to Customer Service and after a few days of back and forth, they said they would send a new thermometer. That was three weeks ago and nothing has arrived. I have tried emailing for status and now they are not responding. Soooo frustrating! Products used:Smart Thermometer
“VERY Poor Layout”
This is the antithesis of a good recipe site. You must have a smart phone to get the instructions. Too many WOKE websites are inconsiderate of other people, particularly the elderly, who are still citizens that are interested to participate in the world but they cannot because of self-centered liberal people who don't consider them. They are largely left out and ignored. I'm not elderly but I prefer using a desktop to view and get instructions and information. You can't do this on Yummly. It's people like this who have ruined our society from narcissism and failed beliefs.
“Most annoying site EVER!”
Forces you to sign up, then asks you a never ending string of questions to narrow your search for a recipe. STOP IT! Cannot browse the recipes easily and properly - will avoid all pushes to use this site in the future
“Should be Taken Out of Google”
This site should be taken out of Google's index. It tempts you in, then won't show you a recipe unless you sign up using a social media account. Get lost! There are way better sites out there that actually let you see their recipes when you wish.
“Too many emails”
Didn't realize they would be flooding my inbox with emails. Guess I thought it would be more like a cookbook sitting on the shelf ready to use when, and if, I have some time to try a new recipe. In trying to unsubscribe from the emails, I was sent round and round. Don't think I was successful in reducing the correspondence, now I just want out of the whole thing. Twelve emails in three weeks? No thanks!
“The Worst Website for Recipes I have visited”
I often look at and print new recipes to make. Every time I use the Yummly site I am frustrated by how difficult and not user friendly it is. You actually cannot print a recipe. The "help" guide says to send the recipe to yourself and print from there? Please check out how well other websites are set up and learn.
“Data mining”
This site uses all the tricks to extract your information, and you can't delete it, they retain your information for their "files". I would rather spend my time cooking than passing all their hurdles just to look something up. Horrible site.
“Use temporary, or fake, email address.”
You are forced to sign up before you can see or do anything useful. After sign up you will be spammed with useless bull$#*!. This site is predatory. Avoid using your main personal email account at all costs. $#*!, Yummly.
“Hard to get to recipes, then they spam you”
No other site puts up so many obstacles to getting to the actual recipes they promise... Then on top of that, they spam you with emails every day forever after (until you consign them to the Spam box). One big UGH to them! So thoroughly not worth the hassle, especially when there are so many great recipe sites out there!
“Terrible all around”
I will no longer use yummly. The look and feel is terrible and the Ad's, omg! They need to fix all the advertisements which split up the recipes. Are you a recipe site or an advertisement company? I'll stick with all recipes thank you.
“I hate Yummly.”
I like to look up recipes online. Yummly has monopolized the search hits with recipes. Most of the links for directions don't work. It's very frustrating to get a recipe without instructions. Yummly please fix your links.
“Not a fan”
You can't even look at this website without submitting personal information via Google, FB or email. Not a fan and I won't do it. If I looked at the website and found it beneficial, I might create an account, but to force you to do so is absurd.
“Forced sign up invasive”
I'm not sure when it started but I couldn't browse the recipes without signing up which was annoying... so I put in a bunch of fake info just to get past the screen... then was bombarded with a bunch of questions. Let me browse, please, without all the hassle and make the question filters be optional. I don't need another account to keep track of when all I want to do is peruse recipes - not mortgage my house.
“Yummly Apps More Trouble Than Worth”
While I like the recipes viewed in Yummly, when trying to download the app on my iPhone and then iPad it continuously required me to sign in and then check my email, rinse, repeat. It also didn't synchronise on my iPad and iPhone as all other apps do. I even signed in on the website thinking that might help; no it did not as it made me have to sign in again, check my email again, and so on. Bizarrely complicated so I've deleted all apps
“The site is unusable!”
Jesus man, hire a UX and a UI designer. The site is unbearable. It's slow. It's in your way. It has constant popup garbage and overlays. The people behind this should just close it down and delist it from all search engines. It is utter trash. Tip for consumers:DON'T! RUN AWAY! IT IS THE WORST. Products used:Tried to use the recipes, but ended up spooning out my eyes because of the mess of the page. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Yummly Search does not return correct results.”
Type is a search and the results do not even match the ingredients at times. You see the nutritional information at the start, and it disappears never to be seen again once you select the recipe. Very frustrating site.
“Used to be good”
The site used to be a go to for random recipes and ideas, now its crap if you want to view any of the top recipes you have to sign up and pay a subscription fee this is total crap. I don't want videos just the recipes and directions. Go back to the way it used to be> Service Value Quality
“Yummly Theft Attempt”
Duck Duck Go gave me a notification that yummly tried to steal information during set up when I opened the yummly sign in link in my gmail. This attempt was blocked, and I was able to complete the yummly account set up by opening the yummly sign in link through copying and pasting the sign in address in a new tab. There is no data tied to my gmail account that yummly is entitled to access, especially since they do not have permission to view my credit card data or personal address, and yummly did not request access. That's theft. Breaking into my mailbox and opening my mail is a crime, as is opening my wallet or entering my home without permission. Yummly isn't entitled to breaking into my web accounts. Quality
“Ads is one thing but this is a new evil”
Forcing viewers to answer questions I guess I can deal with but the huge pop up that asks for your email with no way to bypass, I can't deal with. There are 100 other sites who will let you read for free, no strings attached. How about the option to subscribe/sign up? Geez. Tip for consumers:Uh. . .yeah. Products used:HuH? Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Just give me the recipe already!”
Waste of time! I just want the recipe. Yummly asks too many questions. So frustrating. I see their website pop up and usually skip it. Every time, I do select their website, I get asked tons of questions and get annoyed again.
“Ok but takes too long”
There's a lot of great recipes here. But if you want to get to the action of how to make them fast forget it. You're going to get a long preamble of the how, the why, the when, the taste, the on and on. Then when you hit the one you want images are intruding, specifics are somewhere else and you just can't get there fast. Great recipe. Overloaded presentations.

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
