Is yogajournal.com Legit?

I wish I would have read these reviews first. I signed up for yoga insurance with the teachers plus 3 weeks ago. I never received an email with my insurance info so I can prove I have insurance...which I need to do. Called a million times, emailed, even reached out to the insurance company directly and Yoga Journal..and nothing! I was beginning to think I was scammed...and still do. I am calling my bank to put in a claim of fraud and going with a diff company. Disappointed!

Great content, sloppy presentation. I've limited my time here because there are a lot of ads and links and distractions. I find it difficult to tell where Teachers Plus begins and yoga journal ends...there isn't a great overview or table of contents. I also wasn't successful when shopping for bolsters. Yoga outlet has a clunky mobile platform and doesn't seem to give professional discounts.

I love the magazine. I love its exploration of all types of yoga and the lifestyles surrounding it. I noticed one spread shared different eating habits yogis tend to gravitate towards, yet the article didn't proclaim any one was better than the other - that struck me since there seems to be this "one way" mentality when it comes to nutrition, which can be quite off-putting. Overall, love the content!

I'm going to rant for a sec. Yoga Journal offers teachers insurance with member perks. But if you can't login to your account, they don't send your reset password. Also none of the people working at yoga journal will help you "because, this is a magazine". I had to call the insurance company directly to cancel everything...also, they weren't happy either 😡 #madyogi But there's another cool company that has even better perks than yoga journal so maybe it's a blessing

I do believe there is good content at this site but I find account navigation very frustrating. I know I’ve been a member of YJTP but can’t determine if I still am, what my history has been as a member or how to renew Teacher’s Plus membership without adding a second Yoga Journal Magazine subscription. I gave up on the insurance part of it.

I had much higher expectations from the sequence builder. It's very cumbersome, and the library is very limited. Many common poses are missing. Also, the search is insufficient to say the least. I just got my teaching licence, and was hoping to get some foundation from it. Another thing is I don't care much for the music library; however that's very subjective

for the price i didn’t find the content very helpful. when i signed up in Nov 2017, i was told there would be lots of teaching material, including sequences to access. upon paying for my membership, i only found one sequence available. i appreciated the discount on teaching insurance, but unless i was missing something big i didn’t find a lot of value in the membership. i did not renew this year.

I signed up for teachers plus in March. I chose this program bc of the bundled benefits - including a subscription to yoga journal. It is now almost September and I still have not received one issue. I have tried various methods of reaching out to YJ, only to be redirected over and over. Finally I get the email of someone who supposedly can help with this issue and they haven’t responded in weeks. “Customer service” seems to be nonexistent.

I had had a bad experience after first signing up for TP since my print copies of YJ weren't being delivered and I couldn't get in touch with someone who could fix the situation. However since my initial review I've been in touch with someone at YJ who explained a hiccup in their process that lead to my subscription being stalled. I've since been sent digital copies of past issues that I've missed. So I'm updating my review to 4/5 stars since I've had no other problems with the program.

Happy to have reliable yoga insurance! Need to improve the option of the magazine. The price of a subscription should not automatically be added, then later cancelled; seems a bit counter productive and a true hassle for the client. Otherwise, happy yogi over here!

It may be a little premature to be writing a review since it has been less than a week that I joined the Yoga Journal Teachers Plus community. As a new yoga instructor, I had more than a few questions. Customer Service was beyond helpful; so, as of now, I am rating this category "5" stars.

I purchased what I thought was a membership with insurance for $54.99 and then found I did not purchase the Insurance - even though it does state on my invoice: Description: Yoga Journal TeachersPlus with Part-Time InsuranceI ended up contacting Lockton and purchased part-time insurance through them for $116.00. So my total is $170.99 and I may be getting two magazines a month.

Namaste, Sat Nam. I don’t understand why I have to pay dues to join YJBP as a prerequisite to being insured. The only benefit to me is a subscription to Yoga Journal, which costs a lot less than the membership fee. I have been an insured yoga teacher for over twenty years. It is a substantial expense. Thank you.

I like to look on your site for ideas for class, and sometimes a detailed explanation of a particular pose. One thing, I have always wished there was a quick search for a pose instead of going through many steps. I do enjoy getting the magazine, and when I have more time on my hands I want to explore my benefits further. Thank you Yoga Journal!

I have not been able to login to the teachers plus. I have been told I have an incorrect password. When I click forgot password I never receive an email with further instructions. I have emailed the company asking them if I am not able I login because my insurance doesn’t start until later on, but have not received an answer. I would appreciate a response. Teachers plus is one of the reasons I joined.

So far the membership has a nice amount of features. I enjoy the sequence tool and additional contracts/documents that are good for the business side. There is definitely room for improvement and there should be more options for gaining education that is measurable. Similar to how Yoga Alliance tracks credits and extra education that is outside of 200-300-500hr training. Overall it has been a good value for the money spent.

Website is heavy on selling policy, but very confusing and user unfriendly once the sale is done. I purchased an insurance policy for yoga instructors and can’t find anywhere to download a PDF copy of it. I had to email a request for it. The whole experience was long, confusing and unpleasant. I will not renew at the end. I’ll go back to my previous provider.

I find the website frustrating. The playlists, for example, seem to require spotify. I though I would simply be able to download them and play them in my class (our studio has no wifi). I had to specifically ask for the insurance to list a certificate holder--this they did very quickly--but there was no room for this information on the sign-up form.

I was disappointed with the asana sequence builder. It does not flow and is not user friendly. I expected to see a program that would allow copy/paste, friendly printing and include problem solving support such as yoga therapy. I am not ready to recommend teachers plus to my friends.

The ease of signing up for insurance was a plus. Included in the package was a playlist however once you sign up, you find out you need to purchase Spotify to obtain the playlist which then costs more money. Very disappointed to learn this fact.
