Is worldofbooks.org Legit?

Paid for book 6 days ago on eBay and not even dispatched yet or messages replied to. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poor quality as not described. No discription on many books. Waste of time. Spent money for nothing. Check my order for full details on my account.

Terrible Service ! Semi-Literate staff, who may have read a book just once. They wear dark glasses to read Customer emails, and just ignore them. Try not to use them, but if you must, make sure you pay on Credit Card, and use it again to Return their erronous Orders.However, staff need not worry about future employment as they will be perfectly suited to work in an Ombudsman's Office - Another useless Organization !

Accidentally ordered same book twice. Tried to cancel one immediately but was impossible to contact WOB. Their cancellation system did not work - it relies on a bot that does not allow you to specify your problem. I never got a reply. Avoid this company.

Ordered £62 worth of books as I had used this site before with no issues. Killing Grounds & Hunters Moon - Dana Stabenow didn’t arrive and they kept telling me it had. I’m really not stupid and know what had arrived as it’s part of a set I’m dutifully collecting.Breakup - Dana Stabenow arrived in vile condition despite being advertised as very good. Spine was creased, pages torn and some falling out, was also a very weird colour and smelt horrific.I keep getting generic responses from this company and nobody seems to care. You just go around and around in circles. I’m left with no choice but to make a claim for fraud from my bank about this issue.

Edit: After many emails, back and forth they honoured their special offer. It's heartening to think that they will have a dialogue with a (persistent) disgruntled customer and not just ignore them - which has led to me revising my one-star review into a 4-star one. I really wish that they would listen properly to the original complaint and not just brush it off.

Ordered KS1 books for 5 year old, English Maths etc. all books described as excellent condition. 3 of the books have had all of the answers filled in and stickers removed and added to the progress chart, these books are not as described and not fit for purpose. Have sent 2 messages to WOB. Won’t buy from them again and don’t recommend to others

Bought some books from this company paid for by PayPal.they never acknowledged or sent my books.sent 6 separate emails.just got computer generated replies. Put it down to experience - been scammed

Will never buy from this company again. Ordered books middle of January, still nothing although money taken from my account. Since then I’ve had a series of implausible reasons as to why my goods haven’t arrived and no refund.

I ordered a book listed for sale on the World of Books (WoB) website, and when payment had been taken out but no notification to when order shipped, I emailed to follow up. I was told I should have got an email to say the book in their warehouse was of poor quality and not saleable, but I could order another book. I emailed to ask for a refund, which when it came through, was less than what I had originally paid by about $3. I then emailed for the shortfall to be paid, and a response said it was "tax" deducted. Then a few days later I had the shortfall paid, however, it was still less than the full amount paid, by less 30 cents. That doesn't sound much, but if every refund is less 30c or $3.00 etc the WoB is getting extra $ off a lot of people. They shouldn't be advertising books for sale that aren't saleable, taking the money, then if they do refund, refunding less. Buyer beware of WoB!!!

I ordered softcover books via Abe Books, softcovers were confirmed by World of Books, World sent hardcovers, which I didn't want. Worse, it was impossible to reach either Abe or World. When I tried, I was sent around in circles. I made note of these two companies and will never order from either again.

I am appalled with my order i couldnt believe my eyes! I ordered 9 books i've been charged for 9. Only 3 delivered! The colouring and sticker books are drawn on and stickered all over! No where in description it mentions used in the ones i ordered i was very careful when ordering that this was case. WASTE OF TIME AND NOW THEY HAVE MY MONEY

After buying from WOB on numerous occasions the last delivery has been lost and they will not accept responsibility for it . There are plenty of other online companies just use them . Not accepting responsibility for errors is the worst thing a company can do . And brushing long standing customers away is an awful thing to do .

Sadly I was very disappointed with my French road atlas which you described as up to date … it is VERY out of date!! So it went straight to the charity shop - but at least it was very cheap - so disappointed to say the least

Very poor company. Advertised a book for sale with photograph and then deliver entirely different book. Will not refund costs and postage. Beware of these Charlatans

i have used this company a few times with no complaints, but this last order was total mess up .I ordered The Murder of Roger Ackroyd soft cover book in good condition,,, and received cds.of the book..i thought i may as well play them ,, but they were rubbish and did not even work, as in knackered...I have complained twice but no response .Never again ..

Ordered Three Books on 16/12/21 and nothing received to present date 10/01/22. no contact saying why. one email saying one book dispatched 18/12/21 but no sign of it so far. to be honest I wouldnt even give them one star

Ordered a book from the Goring on the Sea site and got...nothing.Contacted the store ... nothing....thank god I went through Abebooks so they can get my money back.|DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!!!!
