westpac.co.nz Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives westpac.co.nz one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 86.6. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 86.6 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to westpac.co.nz's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a secure website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning westpac.co.nz, let's look closer at the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between westpac.co.nz and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of westpac.co.nz. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of westpac.co.nz, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. westpac.co.nz is an authentic, safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether westpac.co.nz has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, westpac.co.nz.

This company is happy to boot elderly pensioners with terminal illness out of their homes. I am disgusted with how they treat their customers and then they call in the dogs by way of Minter Ellison Rudd Watts to do the final dirty work.
Honestly, it's a circus dealing with Westpac.I have been trying to get 4 different issues resolved and we just keep going in circles. Then when I get an email saying "It's done" I find out it actually isn't.Staff seem pleasant (mostly) but I wonder about their competence.
For almost a week now I’ve been unable to access my Westpac account via mobile app or web portal from overseas due to technical issues. My email to the bank went unanswered despite their promise to respond within 3 days. The worst service I’ve ever received from any bank globally.
They declined to assist me in changing my international phone number. I am unable to transfer my funds. I am unable to change my address. Very poor quality of client service. crazy list of documents should be requested with the referee. That's what no other bank is doing. Avoid going near this "bank." Very outdated method—online banking is far superior.
Westpac are a horrible bank. Trying to close accounts on my late mother's accounts, took in all required paper work 3 years ago only to find they have lost it. Had a substantial amount of money in an account with them for 2 years and not 1 cent in interest. Absolutely disgusting!!Would never use or recommend to anyone.Absolutely useless and unhelpful staff at Riccarton and Papanui branches.
They refused to help me to change my oversea phone number. I cannot transfer my money. I cannot update my address. Very unhelpful customer service. Asking crazy list of documents with referee. No other bank is doing that. Stay away from this “bank”. Very old process nothing compare to online banking.
Horrible phone service. Unwilling to verify if a westpac bank tranfer screenshot with buyer account number on it is real or not. Extremely bad customer service. Would not recommend anyone to use this bank. Terrible attitude and phone manners.
yup, choose different bank.Horrible customer support they contact center does not even know how to do their job and when asked to speak to their supervisor they wont come to attend the call.
I’m notI had an unpleasant experience at the Takapuna branch a couple of years ago. I encountered a staff member who stood next to me and watched as I entered my password at their ATM. I politely asked him to move away, but he refused, stating that he could do whatever he wanted. Despite this frustrating situation, I remained calm and paid for my infraction notice. To make matters worse, he even made derogatory comments on the notice. It's important to remember that it is against the law to harm others.
If i could give Zero i would, worse bank ever. Went there to open an account so i can transfer my money from my existing account, but the staff literary pushed me out and told me we don't open new account , i was so shocked by the staff how negatively talked about their bank!!!
Parasites, 26 years of never missing a single mortgage payment meant absolutely nothing, when they declined interest only continuation on our $1m plus loans. Can't wait to sell a property to pay off our loans and move all our rental accounts to another bank. They won't ever get another cent from our company once we rid ourselves of them.. These guys take the word obnoxious to a new level. Nothing short of a disgrace.
No service levels, they write you an email with a question on some documents you submitted for Kiwi Saver, you respond within an hour and need to wait weeks (still no response). Its just a way for them to move workload and pretend to have done something. Such a silly question I had to answer as well. Wondering if if I'll get a response before Christmas...
Rubbish service and Rip off insurance products for existing customers, they refuse to match what they have advertised today just increase premiums but same payout sum you signed up on 10 years ago, can’t even get an overdraft of $100 if your wages is directed to their bank what kind of stupid decision is that? Oh because you will end up in the same situation next time? Ahh heard of one off? Get your $&@! together Westpac!
Never in my life have I entered a bank with the intention of opening an account and receved an immediate response of, "Why do you want to open an account here". This is what happened at Westpac today. We are repatriating. The attitude of this staff encouraged us to leave - we opened two accounts elsewhere. It seems Westpac really need to work on attracting customers!
Minus One. Whangarei. 40 years with a bank and employees can't manage decent customer service, decent manners, common sense and any hope of actually solving a ridiculous rule. Add conflicting online advice and the cup is full. Consequence...account closed. My advice...keep well away.Celia Barrell.
Last year I took out an auto loan with Westpac and this year I applied for a credit card. Both experiences have been extremely painful. The auto loan approval took so long, I had already owned the car for three weeks before I got the money. The credit card approval has already taken five weeks and Westpac have given no indication when it might be finished. I'm a NZ citizen with good credit and a good job so the issue isn't with me! Thank goodness we didn't get a home loan from Westpac--I'd probably be retired before the approval came through! Hopefully this review will save one person from this disaster of a bank. Literally go with anyone else.
They don't place any value on Customer Loyalty or service. Paid off a mortgage after 2 years and they clawed back the FULL cash contribution they offered me. I asked for a pro-rata repayment since there was 1 year left on the term for the cash contribution agreement. They wouldn't budge. So i will never again be a customer of Westpac. They are only interested in "Front Door" new customers, existing like i was they simply don't care. Typical of a major bank , take everything and give nothing and here i was penalised for re-paying my loan!!Never Again
I have been banking with Westpac.Co.NZ for many years FOC getting my pension paid into my Westpac current account. The service received is still professional, but my local branch is permanently closed, and I have to travel 1/2 hour by car to solve some issues personally, like handling cash. The other local banks owned by Australian banks are also permanently closed, giving Kiwibank in the Post Shop an advantage.
Myself and wife went into Westpac Napier branch on Tuesday about 1.30pm 11/10/22 to open a joint investment account. the lady on the front desk was very helpful handled everything in a friendly proffessional manner, answered all questions and explained everything in a way that was easy for me to understand. She is an asset to the bank.if only more at Westpac were like this helpful staff member.
Car stolen and recovered, Finally assessed the car after being pressured, and are offering half the sum agreed that it was insured for. Contents they asked for photos which were sent, now they want receipts for everything down to the socks and the umbrella. This is not fair or reasonable. They are placing undue hardship on a young family with two under 2s, with no vehicle, no replacement carseats and no funds for uni books or contents stolen. Not surprising your reveiws are so poor!!

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
