westjet.ca Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives westjet.ca a medium-high trust score on the platform: 70.6. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Standard. Valid. Common.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 70.6 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to westjet.ca's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Standard. Valid. Common. tags above. Long story short, this site's trust score still warrants a little caution. Use common sense when using this website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning westjet.ca, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between westjet.ca and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of westjet.ca. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of westjet.ca, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. westjet.ca is a likely trustworthy website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether westjet.ca has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether westjet.ca boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, westjet.ca.

We travelled many times with differents Airlines but Westjet is one of the low cost with the best service! We love this Airline and is so comfortable! also has the best staff!!
I have been flying with West Jet since 2007 - 2+ times per year with our dog in a kennel under the plane - we purchase premium seats, not so much for the seats or the meal as the flight is short but for the priority booking so our dog sits as little as possible in her kennel. You get on and off faster. And you receive 2 checked bags each. This year (2024) when booking our trip to Florida premium seating for direct flights is no longer available to FL - Fort Myers unless you pick a connecting flight with over 7+ hours of travel time for a 3 hour destination. When asked why, I was told the “new planes” west jet bought were not fitted with premium seating - I guess they are old planes as I’m sure if they were “new” you could order them however you want. Sadly this was a pretty good airline until the new owner took over - no one is expecting “Ward-air” but how much can you cheapen a service before people leave. - sadly this year will be my last with West JET if this is my only option. God help me back to Air Canada I go.
Good luck getting anywhere on time with westjet lately. And when you’re late, They ignore their responsibilities in the matter.Apparently staffing isn’t their problem. This airline used to be very good. Such a drop in quality.
Worst airline ever. Outdated planes and terrible service. They gouge customers at every opportunity. Frequent delays and they loose bags on the regular. If I could rate them 0/5 stars I would. Avoid this airline at all cost.
I had a truly disappointing experience with WestJet, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts. Their customer service is terrible. On multiple occasions, I’ve faced canceled or changed flights without proper notice, which is incredibly frustrating. On one particularly bad trip, my family and I—traveling with our 6-year-old, 4-year-old, and 2-year-old—were left stranded in a city with no support or compensation. After our flight was abruptly canceled, we were left to figure out our next steps on our own. The lack of care and assistance was shocking, especially with young kids in tow. We received no information about alternative flights or accommodations, leaving us feeling abandoned and overwhelmed. It’s unacceptable for an airline to leave families in such a vulnerable situation.Trying to reach someone for assistance was another ordeal. I've spent hours on hold, only to get generic responses that didn’t address my concerns. It’s frustrating and exhausting, especially when you have little ones to care for. While I must say that the flight staff is always friendly and doing their best, I feel bad for them having to work for such a terrible company. They deserve better support from management to help them serve passengers effectively. Trying to reach customer service was another ordeal; I've spent hours on hold, only to get generic responses that didn’t address my concerns.Additionally, I’ve come across numerous lawsuits against WestJet for similar issues, which further underscores the systemic problems within their service. If you’re looking for a reliable airline that values its customers, I’d suggest looking elsewhere. WestJet has a long way to go to improve their service and customer care.
I bid on a business class seat and paid over 1 thousand . At dinner , I heard the flight attendant go around asking for dinner choices , based on tier status. I heard when the chicken ran out( 9) and unhappy discussions between passengers who were being relegated to a class based system which is clearly pretentious , insulting and disrespectful to the passengers. By the time they came to me , only one choice was left , which I could not eat. I received an, oh sorry . I had not eaten dinner and was on the plane for 10 hours. When I asked if she was kidding me , she said she would check for any extra premium meals. She returned and acted like she had done me a big favor and found a meal. If this is what WestJet considers to be good customer service for business class , god help you in economy. I take a min. Of 2 overseas trips per year and WestJet is now off my list .
Stupid Airline, flying 8.5hrs & you can’t purchase a snack, so If you don’t let cottage pie or pasta (both tiny dishes) you best starve?! Blows my mind on such long flight, wouldnt like to be diabetic, should be advised highly as nothing you can do once on the plane!!!
My westjet flight was delayed and I missed my connecting flight. I was rebooked for the following morning. No support from westjet on accommodation as they claim it’s out of their control. Pick a couch if you have a late flight with westjet as they not dependable nor accommodating. Bad experience is becoming the norm with Westjet. Rather use another airline with better support.
these days all airlines makes travel so hard with all fare rise comes with fees and other charges and when it comes to bags they gouge $$$ from consumer govt should mendate the bag prices ,,the consumers pratacally travel with nthing (naked) the cost of each and carry on is crazy not happy after paying such high fares and fees and have to pay for baggage too
I have just had a very strange experience with Westjet. I had paid for extra baggage on both my onward and return journey. A receipt was attached to the boarding pass that was emailed to me with my outbound boarding pass. On the return I again paid Westjet for extra luggage. This time I didn’t recieve my boarding passes via email and this did not get a receipt. After an hour waiting on hold for a customer service agent I was told that they could only email me a receipt in 7 days as I had booked my flight with Expedia. When I explained that that was a ridiculous policy and escalated the call the manager was completely rude and told me to get my receipt from Expedia (despite paying Westjet directly for my extra luggage). When I told him that Expedia would not be able to produce a receipt for something I didn’t purchase from him he told me “that is what you get for booking with a 3rd party”. Long story short … I will miss handing this receipt in for my expense report and will lose $180. I lose $180 and Westjet loses a loyal customer. Talk about a lose/lose situation. So stupid and sad. Jim
My wife and I took WestJet to Edmonton last July to visit my two brothers. I'm sure you've heard many complaints about them, but I thought I would share our experience. The original flight home which we booked many months in advance, was cancelled due to a mechanical problem. They spent the night and into the early morning changing and changing the flights over and over again, until they finally gave us one - quite stressful needless to say!We had originally paid for premium seats, as I'm about 6'2" and have a bad back and knees and we thought it was worth it, as it can get painful for me in a cramped space. My wife and I were put in economy seats, and we notified WestJet that we would like the extra money we spent on the better seats refunded. They denied our request. In my view if I order a steak and I'm served chicken I should be charged for the chichen and not the more expensive steak. WestJet just said no we had to pay for the premium seats and only get the economy. This is both arrogant and frustrating, and they have a bad reputation for after making a decision like this, stopping any contact with the customer. We are going to try and not use WestJet in the future, and have canceled their credit card.If this is unexceptable, they should not be disregarding their customers in this manner. We aren't talking about a million dollars, but they did not earn the extra money and should refund us the difference. Like I said if the WestJet decision makers were served chicken and charged for steak - they wouldn't pay the bill.
I'm writing another review because I'm unclear as to how to follow up on my Aug 19, 2024 review of WestJet, where I requested a response from the airline. Still waiting...
Absolutely abysmal customer service. I will never choose wear jet again!
To make long story short. Daughter bought her tickets to Phoneix in December. She had a plan everything was great until plan got up ended 1 week prior to travel. Her accommodations that we good ended up canceling on her. Student on budget can afford the decent hotels that close to travel day. Called WESTJET they told her no refund no travel credit nothing because she bought a cheapest ticket. First time ever buying or traveling. She is out 568 plus ended buying a new ticket Vancouver to salvage a mini vacation. They even charged her a no show fee. She tried canceling they wouldn't.
Always late. Cannot effectively communicate, cannot count to ten, unable to follow their own directions. Walking would be faster for Westjet customers.
Horrendous experience from start to finish. Avoid if you can. Airport staff are rude and not willing to help. Customer support doesn't exist, over 2 hours on the waiting to speak to someone with no luck until I hung up. Cancelled flights and offering alternatives to other cities without covering extra expenses. I don't even know why it cancelled in the first place to see if I'm entitled to compensation or not!I'm just left in the dark!!Avoid if you can. I will never use these amateurs again.
My 16 year old daughter had her flight canceled last minute in Victoria on Friday night. Solution was to fly out to Vancouver on Saturday afternoon and then to Edmonton Sunday night. Great 16 year old girl alone here is your ticket to Vancouver are you kidding me? She will now miss two shifts of work and has been homesick so being stuck in Victoria is her worst nightmare. The airline website has crashed as well so she has no idea what is going on. This company needs to be disciplined or just go away. Never again.
Avoid if you can. Trying to contact them via email but always fails. They seem to want you to wait in a queue for customer service.Had a bad experience with delayed flight and luggage not being prioritised as it should. As a result l missed my connecting and had to pay for a change and delayed a further 8 hours as a result unable to get through to WestJet. Don’t expect good customer service.
Worst airline ever! Delays, cancellations, lost luggage, disappearing Travel Bank money. The word is out that they are going bankrupt and it can't happen soon enough so maybe they can be replaced by an airline that actually has a functional phone number (August 13, 2024; the voice message says sorry but we can't take your call!!!!!!).
Delayed my flight by 2 hours, rebooked my connecting flight even though I still made it on time, and then lost my luggage. Filed a lost luggage report and saw that my bags had been located in Calgary and no eta as to when they will be sent to my hotel. Leaving to Positano tomorrow with no extra clothing and still have no idea where my bags are or if they are coming. Good luck trying to call and contact anyone for WestJet. Horrible customer service. Actually zero customer service.I know WestJet is economical but there’s reason for that

“Flights canceled due to strike left too fend for themselves”

This was back a few months ago when they had the strike going on, we lost our flights we called the like to see what we could do, they said fill out a whole page of your info (10 minutes) and then hear something back, got an email two weeks later Denied, if you don't have to don't fly with them, if your one of the lucky ones you'll get compensation, however 9/10 times you will not. They won't work with you or help in any way so basically you are a lot puppy in the air port when this situation happens they tell you to line up in a 7 hour line just to get the same answer you got from the front westjet workers. Stay away if possible

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
