volusion.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives volusion.com a medium-high trust score on the platform: 71.4. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Standard. Valid. Common.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 71.4 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to volusion.com's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Standard. Valid. Common. tags above. Long story short, this site's trust score still warrants a little caution. Use common sense when using this website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning volusion.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between volusion.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of volusion.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of volusion.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. volusion.com is a likely trustworthy website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether volusion.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether volusion.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, volusion.com.

MyVolusion has zero customer support. They cancel your website often and give you no option to login or call. Their service is pathetic...but it's cheap. I hate this company.
I have been a Volusion customer for over a decade--this is how much they value my business--they have locked me out of my own account. I pay them monthly and without issue. Every single time I have to do a password reset, their prompts and system/process does not work and I have to ask for customer support. Usually they provide it...slowly. Now they are refusing to respond to me at all. I cannot conduct business and handle customer requests. I contacted them numerous times this past week...and no help whatsoever.
What was once the market leader has declined to become the worst ecommerce provider on the market. Volusion has gone stale. They've not evolved with the market, and their system is now outdated and clunky. The rot has been setting in from the top, because whoever is in charge simply doesn't care. Honestly, just sell up, close the thing down, or make some real investments to improve. Make a decision and then do it, because as things currently stand, Volusion is rotting away.
outdated, slow and in-flexible. Also lots of hidden charges, auto contract sign ups etc. was with them for a number years until they suddenly charged me $1500pm (normally about $300 pm) which prompted me to exit immediately. They claim the normal standard charge is $2000pm which is simply extortion for this kinda service, then offer ridiculous discount, by the end they offered me $600 pm which was still overpriced.
Impossible to cancel in the user backend. Needed to google to find the support email. Wanted to cancel. Only possible during Mo-Fri received as reply. Needed to give answers to "security questions" so a "Merchant Happiness expert" can "assist" me.Companies as such should go out of business.
Company charges way too much and has way too many issues. Had them for years and finally got out. Shipping costs stopped functioning properly for customers and like I have read before payment charges just didn't seem to go through and had a ton of complaints from customers.Switched providers as I just had to and was charged the whole time I was switching. Poor customer service and just seems to be a company holding on and not being innovative.
Please do yourself a favor and go to a different platform for your website. We are stuck with Volusion for processing orders, but wish we never would have started. They have the worst customer service I've ever experienced and I've worked with 10+ different site providers. Do not get started with Volusion Payments, orders have an 80% chance of successfully being captured. The ones that fail they blame on the customer having their card too secure.
VOLUSION IS PROMOTING CON-ARTIST WEB DEVELOPERS! THEY "RECOMMEND" PRO'S SUCH AS MAK DIGITAL DESIGN, BUT THESE "EXPERTS" PAY FOR THE PRIVILEGE TO BE PROMOTED! We were double charged by MAK Digital and took the case to Burlington County Court in NJ where a judgement was made in our favor. On many occasions I tried to bring this to the attention of the team at Volusion and received underwhelming sympathy. This company should not be recommended because they (specifically the owner Mary and her husband Drew) ARE CROOKS!
There are many technical limitations to the SEO features of Volusion.1. They charge $20 extra per month for SSL, SSL is necessary if you accept payment on your site and SSL helps with SEO.2. They add "_s/123.htm" to every category page. It looks bad and you cannot remove it.3. There is no category hierarchy in the URL. This is terrible for SEO.An example of #3: You would expect in a subcategory for the parent category to display in the URL. You should see "Example(dot)com/Parent/Subcategory/Product". But instead, everything is "Example(dot)com/Product_s/123.htm"
Volusion Merchant Bait and Switch. Roger Bautista emailed us the fees Volusion charges and was quoted 2.15%, .30 per transaction, .30 batch fee and $5.66 location fee. When I got my first bill it was about 4.8%. I tried several times to reach Roger but he would not reply. Finally reached a manager who did nothing to help us just said that certain credit cards are billed more than 2.15% based on the customer's rewards. That was never explained to us so obviously we dropped them.
I would like to echo many others that have had a poor experience with Volusion.Don't go near them with a bargepole is my best advice. The system is so restrictive that many integrations don't work. We had an issue with the checkout failing to complete many orders after months of getting nowhere we moved to Wordpress / WooCommerce. We were paying around £150-£200 per month and after receiving a call they informed us that our fees would raise to £1500 in 2 weeks time. Funny how this occurred just after they filed for category 11 bankruptcy and told everyone not to worry.I guess they don't need to worry on the short-term if they start charging clients 10x as much to make up their losses. It won't last long though, no-one new will join and all existing clients being ripped off will leave. This is a commercial scam, DO NOT JOIN THEIR GAME
the sales person indicated that it was a one price solution and we reviewed my current website and he gave me a quote.then when i went to set up i found that everything that i needed was an additional charge.hated it to be honest you should refund the set up payment that i made for you.
We opened an online store in 2014 and decided to utilize Volusion for Hosting and Merchant Services. Unfortunately, we had to close the store in June 2018, so I submitted a request to close our online store and cancel our account. We had to wait for another month due to the Volusion billing cycle (no biggie). It has come to my attention, Volusion has been charging my bank account $65/month since July 2018 for Merchant Services which we haven't been using because we closed our online store. Buyer Beware: If you're looking to open an online store, please be aware that Volusion Merchant Services is a 3-year contract (which Auto Renews) each year. I called today to request a credit and they're telling me an email was sent last year to request a cancellation for the Merchant Services account. We have paid $65/month for the past 7 months -- so please don't make this mistake.
Horrible. I was searching for free policy generators, found their site, signed up for account, only to find out they didnt have what they promised. On top of that I searched their site to find out how to delete my account again, no luck.
Good luck canceling a merchant account that you don't use. They have Zero customer service if you have no active account. We canceled a year ago and they continue to charge. Avoid at all costs!
Have used this platform and through the years it got worse and worse. They will do updates and ends up making a problem on our site. They never fix what they broke. Talking to their tech support is utterly useless, like talking to a wall. Stay away from this dinosaur. I am glad our shopify site is done now. Good Riddance Volusion!
I have been a very happy Volusion customer for over a decade and recently I received a email stating that I could not sell certain items on my website. Volusion is about to lose me to Big Commerce.
After 5 years I am leaving Volusion. Within those years they have done nothing to compete with other e-commerce shopping carts. -Their platform is outdated and are doing nothing to update it.-No blog capabilities.-No viable app marketplace.-Their new pricing structure makes NO sense.-Their seo where it makes categories end with numbers 123.htm and _s annoys anyone credible in seo.-The website code and site speed has gone to crap after moving to Google.-Customer service tries to be helpful but they don't know anything. When will Volusion listen to its customer base? Probably never.
Our site has gone down several times within the past few months and we don’t change anything on the back end as far as redirects, hosting, or IP info. Also, we have had some major slowness lately. This could be because we have a large site but they make it seem like they can handle large sites. So hopefully they get that stuff internally running smoothly because the downtime and slowness is costing us. But other than that the past 4 years with Volusion has been pretty okay.
Don't Waste your money - find another web developer We have two separate stores with this web developing platfrom never again we are going to have to switch all our products and information because they lack tech support actual customer service and their system always has problems connecting or crashing Find another web developer save yourself the headache -

“A horrible piece of software (POS)”
A horrible piece of software (POS). It's meant to be used for a "mom & pop shop" averaging 2-3 orders per day. Our business experiences constant slowness, downtime, terrible support and faint colors in their new version which may cause seizures. Stay away!
“Liars, Sales oversells, Design team is clueless.”
Please run away. The clunky, overly complicated way Volusion has made it to create a website, only exists to nickel and dime you as you try to do simple things. Take 10 minutes look at Shopify, Wix, Big Commerce first. This company is bad, you have to wait days to even talk to billing. It took me 2 weeks to even tell them how stupidly clunky there site is, that even there own design team gets lost trying to navigate it. Its all setup to get you lost, needing them at every turn so they can charge you fees for no reason. Run. Don't buy the marketing/sales scams. They are idiots who pretend to know how to help. Once they have your money, kiss it goodbye... they claim to have over 400 employees yet I cant speak to billing without a minimum 24 hour scheduled call back. Bad business, bad ethics, bad platform. Run for your own sake.
“I just called Volusion regarding my account that has...”
I just called Volusion regarding my account that has been charged for the last few month even after I wrote my account manager to cancel and followed their online instruction to cancel. There customer service is the worst I've experienced. I hope you do not need to talk to April S. As she is completely useless and unwilling to help. Stay away from this horrible company! “Volusion ROCKS”
Figured I should put a positive review here as well. Volusion is the BEST company I have ever dealt with. Hands down... for ANY company. They have STELLAR customer service, and their platform is ROCK SOLID. I think in 10 years, I've been down for 1 or 2 hrs total. So many features, I cant even use them all. And talk about great rates/prices! I can't wait to get my site upgraded... don't judge it on mine, as I use mine mostly for retailers and distributors who never see it, however we're changing that!
“Volusion has many robust features and for the majority...”
Volusion has many robust features and for the majority of the users will work wonderfully. The price is cheap and support is 24/7 so that's a big plus. I would like to see more flexibility with some of the internal pages.
“Scam alert”
Volusion keep demanding we pay for services and signing of contracts imagine having $500 in volusion, when you are about to make withdrawal after trading, you have to pay up to your initial deposit to another USDT wallet, before you can get a withdrawal. It's like a scam puzzle
“Honestly the Worst - Please please look into your other options”
There is so much about Volusion that is awful, it's actually easier to tell you about what is/was good. Ease of use on plug and play is simple. They used to have decent customer service. That is where it ends. They literally do not integrate properly with ANYONE or any other services you will need to utilize to optimize your website/storefront. The "experts" literally have no idea what they are talking about, and many times after research I go back and tell them that this or that can be done and this is how. But they just don't care honestly. I've been lied to about what type of things they are working on only to find out a year later, that they really aren't working on anything at all. There are just so many things - they are awful. We are stuck - it's so much to try to migrate to another site, but will do as soon as we can. Tip for consumers:Don't use it Products used:website Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Charged for 2 months after cancellation”
Charged for 2 months in a row after cancellation. You cannot submit a help ticket and cannot contact anyone after 5 pm. Any billing question you have to call in for and wair on hold forever. I switched to shopify and been much happier.
“Worst customer service ever... EVER!”
My shop has been with Volusion for over a decade and when they took the pricing for my account from $103/mo to $525/mo I was appalled. I called their service line three times and they said everyone was busy and couldn't talk to me but they'd call back in an hour. Needless to say you can guess how that went. Finally, I insisted on waiting for someone, and while speaking to the dullard I was stuck on how he could care less about my concerns. Now here's the kicker; when I asked him about the malware attack on Volusion, he simply polished it as no "biggy". Well, when I went to see our day's end tally, I got a "Get out of here, there's malware" notification that caused me to go back to my office and purchase addition malware protection costing $420. That slid off his back when he said they suggested all clients should obtain malware software and DNS protection. Stay away from these jokersvery far away.
“Lies and a tad rude”
They ripped me real bad. I am still licking my wounds. Unless you have lots of money and know a lot about small business, I would avoid them like the plague!
“Let me direct you to our $EO department.”
Just the tip of the iceberg > Built-in issues; like, lots of 1X1 gifs with no alt text nor access to the needed files to repair it. I spent a couple years trying to get the site to work properly and learned a lot about html, css, api, javascript and more, instead of making sales. Website loaded slow and had a terrible mobile interface. The bounce rate was through the roof. I switched to a better host (which would probably be any). If you aren't a huge company ready to fork out $1000s of dollars for issues that shouldn't be there in the first place, this is NOT for you! Their "customer service" is a joke, the only answer to most questions? "Here's our SEO department" (with $5000 "solutions"). New at ecommerce? Steer away. Tip for consumers:Try BigCommerce. Service Value Returns Quality
“Volusion supports CON ARTISTS who STEAL YOUR MONEY!”
“Frustration and confusion”
I'm sure my experience may not be the norm, but here goes. I signed up for the free trial. I encountered numerous problems in creating my site. Although the support staff was very good and trying to assist, I think they too probably thought something must be amiss. The final straw was when I tried to create the "contact us" page. It took over 4 hours, even with utilizing the support staff. I ended up having to write the html myself (with help from the staff) but often wondered if this was true of everyone. At one point during my week long attempt to build my simple site, one of the support staff suggested that it would overcome the problem once I purchased the plan. So I did. I paid $121 but this did not fix any problems. Finally one of the staff figured out why I was having such difficulty but only to run up against further problems. I was still within the free trial so I figured I would be reimbursed if I cancelled. Wrong. Now, not only did I incur this loss, but I am unable to log back in to try and get them to credit me (because I had cancelled.) Again, I suppose this has not been everyone's experience, but I gave up with Volusions and went elsewhere.
“Volusion = Scammers and Frauds; Avoid at all costs!”
Volusion and their subsidiary credit card processor defrauded my business out of over $40,000 USD. They had identified us as a smaller company that was dependent upon monthly revenue in order to make payroll and purchase inventory. They literally stole the money right from my company bank account using a fraudulent chargeback, then started to withhold all sales revenue until I had no choice but to close the business. The only money we had to pay attorneys to fight them they had already stolen, and by cutting off our revenue stream, they ensured that there would be no legal recourse for their criminal activities. Volusion is a company with a sleazy culture, that is willing to defraud and steal from its own customers in order to make their own ends meet when hard-up for cash, and/or satisfy their own unbridled greed. Their chargebacks were entirely without basis, as was their theft of all sales revenue following their chargeback fraud. All of our bills owed to Volusion were paid on-time and in-full. They had no justification for what they did to my company that I spent half a decade building and was dependent upon to support myself and my family. The screenshots were courtesy of the Wayback Machine. They prove that the website in fact existed between 2011 and 2014, and that it was "powered by" Volusion. Tip for consumers:Tip for others who might use this site? Don't. It will cost less in the long run to switch to another provider than it will cost if Volusion decides to target your business the next time they decide to victimize one of their own customers and steal enough money to shut down the business and prevent any legal recourse. They are liars, thieves and frauds. Do not trust them. If you already use them, switch to someone else. If you are trying to select a provider, use someone reputable. Products used:I used their mid-tier and later higher-tier e-commerce website selling platform, and used a stock template that was consistent with my business' logo and color scheme. I also used their subsidiary payment processing company, which was/is owned by Volusion and exists almost exclusively for Volusion customers/sellers. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Poor product, poor service, poor ethics, bills after canceling--RUN”
The company signs you up easily, all through Volusion, then when you are ready to cancel (due to poor product and worse customer service), confirms you have "canceled your order with Volusion" only to continue billing you ~$63 for months. When you contact them about continuing to bill post cancellation, they inform you that you have to double cancel through two different parts of their company, and they are going to bill you again, and then charge you an additional $99 to stop the additional billing. Commitment length (unmentioned when you sign up) is 3 years. The product did not perform in the first place. Customers trying to purchase on mobile would get an error page, even though mobile capability is part of the service you are paying for. Several customers reached out to me informing me of the problem when they were trying to purchase and I ultimately lost their business. I informed Volusion and no efforts were made to resolve the issue. It persisted as a flaw in the product till the end. Password change is required, but there is a bug with the process, so every time you are required to change your password you get locked out and can only gain access by customer service letting you back in, which requires a ticket process which takes several days, up to a week, and rendered my site unaccessible during critical Cyber Monday weekend. If you are considering a merchant site, BigCommerce and Square provide a better product with better business practices. Complaints for bad business are aplenty if you look up Volusion on the BBB. Save your sanity, save your wallet, save your business: don't do it. Tip for consumers:100% of customers would not recommend and had a negative experience as reviewed on the BBB. “I ppurchased the Volusion Business service today after...”
I ppurchased the Volusion Business service today after speaking with a rep about the ease of builidng the site and the amazing customer service. I did nto experience this and after 4 frustrating hours of glitches in the site and Amazingly difficult navigation, I decided to cancel the service. Upon doing so I was sent an email confirming the service would be up for 30 days and I would be charged for the service ($99) I was outraged that a company who had misrepresented their service and was unable to reitify my problems easily was going to nickel and dime me longer In addtion to the UNSEEN charges onine for services. A customer service (?) agent seemed very happy to tell me there was nothing he could do to reverse the charges, even though the site offered a 14day trial offer For FREE. The worst customer service I have had online.

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.

Are You the Owner of volusion.com?
If you own volusion.com, we’d love to hear from you. If you'd like to challenge the trust score we’ve assigned, we’re happy to take a closer look. However, please be prepared to provide solid proof of your business's legitimacy. Introduce yourself with your name (not just "Admin").
When domain owners contact us to dispute their trust score, we kindly ask for the following:
* Business documentation that verifies your legitimacy (e.g., certificate of incorporation, business registration, or official records with the site or business name).
* Your personal LinkedIn profile and the business's social media accounts (e.g., Facebook).
* If available, proof of satisfied customers (e.g., screenshots, not just testimonials on your website), evidence of inventory, or records of handling order cancellations properly.
We’re more than willing to update your review based on the evidence you provide—the more proof, the higher your trust score. Please note, however, that we cannot verify non-operational websites or those redirected to other URLs. Additionally, we do not verify websites involved in high-risk financial services, gambling, adult content, or illegal activities.
