Is volunteerhq.org Legit?

My experience was great thanks to the people I met, I went alone and immediately made a super cool group of friends. On the other hand, Zanzibar is a magical place and all the landscapes were breathtaking. As a marine science student, I was very happy to live this experience as a sign of my future life.

My experience as a volunteer English teacher in China was so amazing. IVHQ provides a bridge to a Local Project in Xi'an, China to provide English instruction to kindergarten and 1st grade students. IVHQ's training, guidance and checklists make the preparation for this experience so easy. My IVHQ host helped my through the process then handed me off to the Local Team in a coordinated effort. I spent one week at a local school and living with a local family, I now wish I would have spent more time as I was just getting warmed up. My fellow volunteers and I were a good team and helped each other adjust to the new environment. The first day was a holiday in China so our Local Team helped us organize a tour to see the Terra Cotta Warriors near Xi'an (know as the 8th Wonder of the World). I will definitely plan volunteer through IVHQ again.

I volunteered in Argentina and loved almost every moment of it. As a non speaking Spanish person the first day at the program was a bit much as no one spoke English but as the days went on we were able to connect with clients and employees despite the language barrier. I was impressed with IVHQ they were diligent from the start and were great to connect us to the local program coordinators who were always there to help.

As a current medical student in New York, I could only afford enough time to spend a week in Costa Rica. When I first applied, I assumed that by the end of the program, I would be ready to head home. I had never stayed with a host family abroad or traveled internationally on my own before, so along with excitement, there was also a bit of worry. However, those fears disappeared the moment I arrived, met the local team, my host mother, and saw my volunteer site. I quickly fell in love with Costa Rica's culture, nature, and people in just seven days. Even though my stay was brief, I truly believe I made a positive impact. As someone who is passionate about social justice and helping others, this program felt like a dream come true, and I hope to return one day.

Brilliant three weeks in Argentina. Volunteering was wonderful and I only wish I could have helped more. I improved my Spanish by having to speak the language, and I'll keep improving. There was also time for sightseeing. IVHQ is not for profit, so you're helping, not being exploited. Everyone gains through this. I'd encourage you to give it a go.

I've volunteered through IVHQ twice now, and the experience has always been INCREDIBLE!!The IVHQ team does a great job preparing you for your project, teaching you about the local culture, and helping you through pre-departure technical procedures such as applying for a visa. I always felt supported and knew exactly what my next steps were. The projects that IVHQ connects volunteers to are meaningful and well-run. I'm so glad to feel like I'm making a difference and really growing as an individual.The local teams are totally awesome as well! Both teams that I volunteered with made me feel very safe and supported for my entire trip. They're very friendly and approachable, and easy to contact. I really loved my time volunteering and plan to keep coming back to IVHQ!!

IVHQ helped me prepare for a smooth and safe trip. They made sure I had travelers insurance, all the documents I needed, prescriptions and connected me with the most amazing guide who went above and beyond to help me learn where to stay, where to eat, where to shop, and how to get around.

I completed 2 weeks of construction and renovation volunteering in Bali. IVHQ were super easy to book with and incredibly helpful with any complications or queries that I had. The local team were amazing and I definitely want to return in the future. I couldn’t recommend it enough!!

The experience was awesome. From the time of registration, departing and coming back was a smooth process. Just plan your trips accordingly and keep in mind the registration fee and the airline tickets

The staff were extremely helpful and assisted me whenever needed. The living conditions were clean and well looked after.

I had a wonderful experience volunteering with IVHQ in Ghana this September. The Local Team were incredible, and looked after us all so well during our stay, and I learnt so much about the local culture, but also about myself. I am coming away from my experience as a changed person, and I am so grateful to IVHQ for this experience - it is one I will never forget :)

It was a great experience for me. I did Child care and my day care was quite far from the house where I slept. From day one, I was given all the instructions to arrive safely at my volunteer site. The local staff was welcoming and very helpful. The children at the facility adorable!

I felt discriminated in this organization for my age. When you see the money you pay to go in a mission trip. Is a wasted of your time. They asking for fundraising and the people where you go said they don’t give them any money. Also a registration fee. For what. And in my mission the breakfast was included and some days no breakfast. Usually somebody have the key and no show out. There is no at all organization. My recommendation is to go straight forward to and NGO in the country you wanna serve. And avoid this organization that ask you for much money for nothing. Be away for this.

I did a 3week turtle program which is something I really wanted to do since a young age.My experience was eye opening. The local team included us in daily life of the locals which helped us to understand the culture better. They were all so nice with trying to make us feel at home. I got to see a lot more than just the project.I learned more about the turtles while learning about myself and other participants.Ivhq was helpful while preparing me for the trip with good information. They were also checking on me while the program was running.The website is easy to use and the variety of programs is amazing.

They consistently checked in on us, making sure we had everything we needed to thrive during our time together. Their support not only allayed any concerns we had but also fostered a sense of community among us.The team went above and beyond, often spending their own time getting to know us on a personal level. This extra effort made a massive difference, turning a good experience into an unforgettable one. Their warmth and enthusiasm created an environment where we all felt encouraged to give our best.I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and for the amazing local team that made it all possible. Their passion and dedication have left a lasting impression on my heart. Highly recommended for anyone looking to make a meaningful impact while feeling truly supported.

I had a great experience in Tanzania participating in the cultural immersion assignment. The local team was so welcoming and appreciative of the work we were doing. We were well taken care of with comfortable accommodations and tasty meals. One of the main projects we accomplished was building a chicken coop to help increase nutrition for the students and community. We also assisted in the classrooms by teaching English and writing student biographies. I made lasting friendships and experienced a whole new culture. I highly recommend this volunteer opportunity!

I've had a great experience with IVHQ. Everything was well organized and professional. Accommodation, food, airport pick up and drop off, the structure of the day was well thought out. I'm definately planning my next trip with them in the near future to do another program.

The whole experience was amazing. I felt safe and well looked after up until I was dropped off at the airport. I would definitely recommend volunteering with them. I hope to go to Peru in 2026! Thank you 🙏

Everything about volunteering childcare program was great, the team, coordinators friends I made. everyone was lovely, made my stay easier and the kids were adorable. I got emotional attached to some of the kids and it was a life changing experience, been in a complete different country but at the same time learning about cultures. I loved every morning I had to wake up and start my day with amazing friends. Met many people from all over the world and became good friends, traveled around Thailand. For me this made me grow as a person and helped me to focus on what my purpose on life is. I totally reccomend to do it if you want to help communities and need a break from daily routine. Thailand is an amazing destination to go and explore.
