Known.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 79.7 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to vehicleinformation.uk's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Fair. Valid. Known. tags above. Long story short, we deemed this a known website, with a low scam probability. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning vehicleinformation.uk, let's look closer at the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between vehicleinformation.uk and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of vehicleinformation.uk. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of vehicleinformation.uk, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. vehicleinformation.uk is an innocuous suspicious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether vehicleinformation.uk has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

Because everything was so straight forward and easy steps to follow
For someone like me who not is computer literate I found it to be very straight forward,
Easy to use. But I wasn't happy about being seamlessly directed from gov.uk site to vehicle information.uk site.It asked for payment information which is easily confusing when you go on to gov.uk expecting to pay your vehicle tax online. Then it's not clear that you still haven't paid your tax!Equally culperable is the gov.uk tax payment portal, who have clearly bought into this diversion. Both sites need to be much more explicit about exactly what is happening.I'm good with IT and intelligent enough, and it was misleading.
I wasn't expecting to have to register and pay for this service - just wanted to pay the V11
easy to find what department your looking for. i was dreading doing this but very happy it was easy to find thank you
Tried to search when my mot is due. Went to Google and ended up to this website. I thought I was logging on to gov.uk but they registered me and I just don't know how my card was charged 7.95. Slightly misleading and deceiving to make this come on top of the Google search and in this quick day and age where credit card information is available on a fingerprint scan, it is very easy to setup an account especially if you mistakenly think you are on a government website and will not really be charged. Changed my rating from 1 to 3 as the call center exec cancelled the account and refunded the money if it was charged within 30 days.
I wasn't sure how to choose the amount I wanted to pay
Easy to use in the website. Recommended to all
I'm editing my review as I was contacted by this company and my money for all payments have been returned. This is a sign of a good practice from their side, I can't deny I was impressed. They do care about customers, even if that was unwanted service. Thank you.
Update on this post. The company have been in touch with me very quickly and have agreed to provide a refund. I am waiting to find out where or how they managed to setup a direct debit. Once I receive the refund I will update the star rating again as their response has been very positive and proactive. ——————No idea how these people basically stole my wife’s account details and have been stealing £7.95 from her account for months. Keep clear and make sure you check your bank statements. This is 100% a SCAM.
I went online to check the MOT for a car I was planning to buy, and then to tax it after I bought it. At some point, apparently, I did something that signed me up to a £7.95 Direct Debit with vehicle information... I have no idea at what point this happened, as I thought I only went to the UK dvla site... All very concerning how they got my card details and set up a Direct Debit without me even being aware. The only plus side is that when I phoned them back they agreed to cancel my direct debit and refund the £7.95 - I've given them one extra star for that. Let's hope the money actually comes back...

Trying to tax my car and this site came up asking to verify my card. I did and they took 0.59 pence then directed me to DVLA.A day later they went back into my account to take £7.95. Who are these people and why are you going into my account?Response to your comment following the above The link they sent could not be reached. I just want my money back and for you not to go back into my account. Please send email address where I can send more information.Thank you.

The website is good
Misleading and quite unfair as a new driver thinking you've paid for your tax as I was redirected tot his site 3 months ago when I initially set up the payment and was led to believe I'd paid it.Just had a letter through the post to find out I've been driving around with my son in an untaxed car!!! And after doing some digging found out that has been quite. A common issue with this certain provider.
Not happy when I was trying to check my vehicle tax that I was redirected to this site from the government site. Very unhappy that I have had to pay for the privilege of something I didn’t want. This needs to be made clear to the unsuspecting!!
site was easy to use and process to pay road tax quite simple thank you
Hi, I must have stumbled into this web site when taxing my vehicle. They are now taking £7.95 a month. I didn't set up a direct debit, and would like a refund. I have given another star because they have cancelled the account, and refunded the last payment. I would like a total refund because I had no clue I had signed up for anything. I was just trying to tax my vehicle. I only have one vehicle, why would I need information on it when I have had it for ten years. First time I did it online, and payed the price for it. I would improve my score if I get a full refund. Thank you
easy to find and renew my car tax, no issues at all.excellent.

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.

How To Stop Third Parties From Tracking Your Devices

The second most powerful fraud prevention tool you should consider is Surfshark. Here is why you should get it now, as the first 5 months are free:

  1. They have an award-winning VPN service, protecting your privacy and preventing third parties from tracking your device.
  2. They will notify you when your personal info is leaked online so you can delete your private data from the Internet immediately.

  1. Ronnie Gallagher

Dear Sir/Madam. Can you please advise me of an email address for vehicleinformation.uk. This organization is taking £5.95 per month from my bank account for a service I do not recall entering int a direct debit contract. I did once request details for my vehicle and think this somehow translated into a monthly contract. If so this is either a scam or fraudulent. It is partly my fault for not noting the monthly debit. It is a small amount per month, so I did not notice it. My bank has blocked further releases but can only do so for 13 months. They advised me to contact the company directly to cancel, but I am unable to find an email address to do so. Can you please help? It would be nice to get a refund, but I suspect this might not be possible. Whatever caused the contract to be set up ought to be investigated, as others may be in the same position as me. Thank you Mr. R Gallagher [email protected]

  2. Obi

I am now in exactly the same situation as Mr. Gallagher. I mistakenly click on vehicle information uk while looking for dvla to see when my tax and other details are due. The site requested all the information they got from me including my card details. It was at the end when I was asked to enter a password for the account to be opened I would not and cannot find a lead out of the page except back page all the way. However they already have my details and though I backpaged they kept the information. Then I saw a 50 pence debit appear on my account followed by £11.5 and then every month end of £7.95. I have to say th Banks make it easy for these to happen as well. Banks are protecting businesses at consumers expence. I quieried the trasaction after the first month but the Bank wants information from me which the fraudulent business has not provided me. In all these, I have had no email or contact from Vehicleinformation uk yet they continue to comfortably take my money with such ease. So one cannot ask the bank and have it done, nor the company whose contact is unknown. Business is dirty these days, very dirty.

  3. Lynette Calder

Yes this is a scam it masquerades as a way to pay your vehicle tax and then enrolls you in a monthly scheme how is that not a scam? Fortunately I realised almost immediately and closed the account down so hopefully that 50p will be the end of it but this may be a legitimate website but it isn't sourcing customers in a legitimate way.

  4. Ian Daniels

I must have gone onto their website sometime but never entered into any financial agreement with them, I have just noticed that they have been taking £7.95 a month for the last 5 months. As far as I'm concerned it must be a scam. I have asked them for a full refund and to stop any further payments. Now waiting for a reply from them.

    1. James Walker

An odd coincidence Ian. It stops £7.95 an month from anybody it sets its sights on. I have heard many reports of this happening. Whenever a site saying it is trustworthy pops up, ignore it. What you must do is contact your bank now and cancel the payment. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

  5. Chris Haley

If not a scam its definitely underhand business practise to set up and take money from your account on a monthly basis using a near copycat DVLA website and return nothing for this payment. Of course unlike more legitimate businesses do not inform you each month that they are extracting money from your account hoping you don\'t notice the £7.95 they take from your account each month. Now have to try and disentangle myself from this web of deceit.
