vehiclehistory.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives vehiclehistory.com a medium-high trust score on the platform: 70.3. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Standard. Valid. Common.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 70.3 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to vehiclehistory.com's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Standard. Valid. Common. tags above. Long story short, this site's trust score still warrants a little caution. Use common sense when using this website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning vehiclehistory.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between vehiclehistory.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of vehiclehistory.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of vehiclehistory.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. vehiclehistory.com is a likely trustworthy website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether vehiclehistory.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether vehiclehistory.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, vehiclehistory.com.

They are affiliated advirtise services for epicvin.com which is a scamming site, so they aslo should be avoided at all cost.
In posting a car, I got multiple (supposed) buyers insisting on this product rather than CarFax, the industry standard. I suspect that commissions are being paid to shills who are NOT really buyers.
Used to be a Great Site for VIN searchs and now it only works on half of my VIN numbers. Back in 2017 it was a Super Site! The site hates VPN's. I had to turn my VPN off to get better results. Still a pain to deal with.
copy of veh reg, bought a new car but never got the registrationprobably shoulda been sent in the mail by DMV or the dealer, but for $5, probably saved myself a hassle if i got stopped by the cops
I attempted to look up a license plate number but it only allowed VIN
I was able to see the information I needed and it helped a lot
The service was fast and easy. They did respond to my concerns. I do wish it was a bit more detailed
The experience was good, expect the stolen vehicle report
Did not see any ownership records and service records. I like the way carfax lineup every details which is very clear and easy to read. If you can lay it up like carfax and include all ownership records and service records like them. I would give 5 stars because it is free and get the some information that I need.
These days it's kinda tough to acquire a car for a cash, especially when you have two children... Nevertheless, I wanted to delight my children as they deserve it. I acquired a car. It costed me plenty of money but it doesn't matter at all. The matter was the way I acquired it. s a rule people spend plenty of time on searching for a car which would suit their needs and would satisfy they on full. I am also considered to be such a person, but due to this company I decided to acquired a car, which model is a bit worse, but it costed twice cheaper than i expected. I allocated a particular sum of money fo purchasing a car and the discount was 15% off. Nice.
All the responses from other reviewers about their 2016 NISSAN SENTRA'S ISSUES. A LOT OF REVIEWS ON MARCH 25-2022. I FOUND THIS 2 B SOMEWHAT IRONIC. PLEASE HELP W/A RESPONSE AS TO WHY SO MANY 2016 NISSAN SENTRA'S HAD SAME PUBLISH DATE? TU so much for having this site. It really helped me to know Nissan has extended warranty to 85,000 miles or 85 months for Tranny. THIS warranty doesnt have to be the first ORIGINAL ONWER, CORRECT? I BOUGHT USED FROM HERTZ CAR RENTALS IN ROSEVILLE, CALIFORNIA. CAR WAS BROUGHT IN FROM LAS VEGAS, NV. PREVIOUSLY USED AT A CAR RENTAL AGENCY. TU. Cheryl Kraft -Sacramento, CA.
This made it very easy to get the information I needed.
It was easy to pull in the information I needed in a short amount of time
Easy, Fast, Free. Does not ask for any personal info.I searched VIN lookup and the first result was vehiclehistory.NET, which looks a lot like vehiclehistoryCOM. This review is for vhiclehistory.COMGives basic vehicle info. Lists recalls and if car has complied with recalls. Any incidents or auctions Any classified documentation (I don't know what that includes).
Any car that I even scroll through, I search using this site. While other sites have a limitations of how many free searches you can make, I literally searched hundreds over the couple of years. It might not have the detailed maintenance records as Carfax, but accident reports and NHTSA recalls are no less precious informations you're getting for free
Has some great information about the car, but needs more straight forward information.
VehicleHistory.com is my go-to website for all things automotive. Their mission statement speaks volumes, as they truly deliver on their promise of being the quickest and most complete source for automotive information online. The website is user-friendly, providing easy access to a vast database of professional new and used car reviews. What sets VehicleHistory.com apart is their commitment to making car-buying research simple, accessible, and reliable. With just a few clicks, I was able to find the vehicle that perfectly matched my needs. I highly recommend VehicleHistory.com to anyone in search of powerful information on vehicles.
Used car shopping can be stressful. Especially the final decision when you've narrowed it down to just a few that are the same make, model, and year. That's where the VehicleHistory.com free VIN reports help with the final elimination round. It may look nice, shiny, and clean but if it's been in a number of accidents and totaled for salvage and rebuilt - you might want to go with the other car with the clean record. Vehicle History.com has made my used car shopping experience so much easier!
I've been looking to buy a couple used vehicles and have been purchasing carfax reports which are relatively expensive. I came across VehicleHistory.com after reading a US News & World article on how to research used vehicles. The reports are free by VIN number and they are as comprehensive as a carfax report. This site has saved me lots of money checking out used vehicles. Highly recommend it !
in researching vehicle information, without having to pay a fortune to find out, Vehiclehistory.com IS THE SPOT to find out all you need to know on the vehicles your looking at purchasing. Much greater detail in history and other vehicle information than the popular car fax or any of the other vin checkers out there. Very pleased with the depth of what I found out. Will certainly recommend to anyone looking to research a vehicle before putting down hard earned money!!

“Way Better Than Carfax!”
Awesome website!. Wished I had found it sooner before shelling $70 to Carfax for only 5 VIN number checks. Keep up the good work. I'll definitely recommend this site to all my coworkers and friends who are thinking about buying or selling their vehicle.
“Easy to Use & Helpful Beyond Words”
I tried to do a VIN lookup on 10 other sites... only to find out they told me nothing helpful and wanted my money. It's hard enough affording a car, but to think about also having to pay to look into potential purchases is just annoying. I appreciate Vehicle History's thorough report, it has everything I want to know and more! So very easy to use and will be recommending this to everyone I know! Thank you for making a difficult task a little bit easier on people!
“Fantastic FREE service”
Great way to get the general history of a used car. I love all the recall listings and the service bulletins. They even include average retail and trade-in pricing. Much more in-depth than those other sites!
“Great free service”
When searching to buy a used car, carfax reports can really add up. While this report is not as detailed as a carfax, it gives enough basic information that I would be able to judge continuing with the buying process.
“Visibility complaint”
I own a 2018 Nissan Murano Platinum model. Generally the car is great, but I have one small irritating complaint. The Driver's Information Screen, directly in front of the Driver, fades away in strong sunlight, but is fine and legible in the garage or at night. The local Service Dept. instructed me to fix this problem by placing a piece of tape over the light sensor on the top of the dashboard, and not to use the Auto headlight setting. My car now thinks it is night all the time. Anybody else have any ideas?
“First Choice!”
With all three cars I have bought the service from VehicleHistory.com has been essential and useful! It gives clear and easy to understand results. I'd recommend this source to anyone wanting to looking into the past of a car.
“Vehicle History Report”
I would recommend this site to anyone wanting information on their vehicles. The steps are simple and doesn't take long. The greatest feature of all is the CSR text you to make sure you were satisfied with your report.
“Check a VIN for free and get a pretty extensive report”
I was looking for some more information on a used car with a price that seemed too good to be true. Vehicle History's website came up when I was searching for a free site to search a VIN number so I checked it out. I got detailed info on recalls, damage, repairs--everything I wanted to know without having to create an account or input my personal info anywhere! Thank you for this awesome resource!
“Great resource for when buying a used car.”
Research.com is a great resource, for when looking to buy a used car. It has already unearthed one salvage car being sold as "clean", raised questions on a couple of others about the actual trim level, (VIN description didn't match, and raised questions about the seller's "one owner from new" claim, and the price is right:-) I also like that it is only limited in searches per day and not overall. The last time I was car hunting I used one of the pay search engines and they tried to restrict my searches, claiming I was a dealer, when in reality I just like to be thorough! Tip for consumers:Could also be useful for a buy-it-new owner too, particularly if you keep the vehicle for a while, as it lists all the manufacturer's warranty and recall information, applicable to your exact vehicle in one place.
“I love this website, best I've used for free”
This is a super easy and detailed way to check vehicles Identification Number. They go in into detail of the history of the cars and give you as much details as they can find when looking to purchase that car or sell it.
“Great service”
Provided what I requested without a lot of BS. It only cost 1.00 so reasonable for sure and gives u a customer service contact just in case so ur not just left wondering should u have a problem great!
“Extremely helpful site, that could save you tons of headaches”
I always check VIN's on VehicleHistory.com before I get serious about buying anything just so I have some peace of mind about the history and what I'm getting myself into. Super easy to use and it has always had accurate information thus far.
“Wonderful VIN decoding source!”
I love how easy the site is to use. Just enter in the VIN and you get a fairly complete and usable service and vehicle history. Helps with the buying process! Glad I found this site - it's almost as good as carfax - and I am sure with time it will be better than CF.
“RESULTS WITHIN MINUTES...”
My son is just starting out someone was selling him a car I went online and found this website within minutes I had all the information on the vehicle this was so helpful. I will highly recommend this site. Thanks so much for your help.
“PURCHASSE OF MY JEEP”
As advertised. Quick, easy, no hassles. Came to my house on time. Michael Mullinax was very professional. Took less than an hour to complete everything, including signing paperwork and presenting a check for the amount estimated on phone. Picked the vehicle up the next day. A pleasure doing business with him and them. Thank you " Service Value Shipping Quality
“Excellent Free Resource”
I'm not sure why wouldn't give this site 5 stars. It's free. Period. No login information, no credit card information, nothing like that. It showed potential car purchases for me with their accident records, maintenance schedule, odometer records, etc. Why the heck are you paying for Carfax?
“Scam, got charged $28.95 instead of $1.00! Closed down my cred it card!”
The agreement looks like you are paying $1.00 for a report on your car. However, you are charged $28.95! We received a text moments after I agreed to the $1.00. "Chase Fraud: Did (my name) charge $28.95 at VEHICLE HISTORY on 8/07? Reply YES or NO." We replied NO and my credit card was instantly closed down! Clearly, Chase has had problems with VEHICLE HISTORY in the past to send me a fraud alert. Now, I have to update all my auto payments relating to my card! To say that I'm angry is an understatement! Do not do business with this company, you will be sorry. Tip for consumers:You will be sorry if you use this site. Clearly Chase has had problems with them because they sent me a FRAUD ALERT! “Stay away from these liars”
This is an update on my prior review which was based on a promise of a $10 amazon card for a 5 star review. Vehiclehistory.com never sent the giftcard and never responded to emails inquiring about it. Liars and scam artists
“Scammed”
Was charged the advertised 1.00. Then charged again 3 more times for unauthorized transactions. Called the number asking for a refund and was told I would receive a call back. Have not heard back at all. Submitting a claim with my bank.
“Okay”
The information given was useful, but used this website under the impression that the services were just only $1 but to be charged $18 extra within the same minute. Still no responses have been given.
“VehicleHistory.com is scam!”
VehicleHistory.com is scam! I agreed to a 1.00 charge, then was charged 19.95. I called support and was issued a confirmation number cancelling all future charges but was told that i agreed to the online bill of 19.99, it had been processed and they would not do anything about that. I have contested the charge with my credit card company, and have a standing agreement with them that if it reappears next month they will credit my account and then i would have to cancel the card/change the account number..
“Well...”
Well... DO NOT use this site. I wanted info about a vehicle the other day and was charged more than I expected to pay. Today they said I would receive and email if I gave them information, which they already have, to resolve the issue I had with them. Tonight I was told I would receive an email within an HOUR, no message rec'd yet. I, too, was told I would receive a gift card for amazon if I would reconsider my comments on this site. Believe me I will share this with everyone I know on every social media source available.
“Horrible customer service”
Horrible customer service and site. I was overcharged when it mentioned a certain price and then they put me in a monthly payment. When I tried to get a refund through chat and email support, 3 times I had to ask for a refund. All times they stated it was being canceled then even tho I canceled it a week prior. They don't send email confirmations and don't even try to contact you for help. Said a week ago that it would be 3-5 days for a refund posted but I see no pending refunds and no email confirmation. Worse company and service ever. They do not even try to help you. Just empty words about having tech support reach you shortly. Do not go through this horrible company. My worst experience EVER trying to get service and help. Tip for consumers:Don’t use their services or spend money. You’ll wait forever on replies and no proof of refund. “No no no vortec engine can use diesel...”
I was looking at the 2007 gmc and one of the specs was a 6.0l vortec and it says it runs diesel fuel. And it even has a diesel cap on its tank. Here's the deal that year up to today the Diesel engine is a duramax and the gas engine is a v8 vortec. Keep this in mind you put the wrong fuel in your truck it's over for that engine if you run it too long on that tank.
“Great info”
If you don't have a lot of cash to research the background history of every car you're interested in, this site will be invaluable for getting basic facts (and a lot more detail than you probably need). Be armed with information before bidding at auction! Plug the VIN in and here comes your three-page report!

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
