We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this low score? We came up with the 37.50 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to vanillagift.com's industry. The algorithm detected possible high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Questionable. Controversial. Flagged. tags above.
Long story short, we caution you about using this website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning vanillagift.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between vanillagift.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of vanillagift.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of vanillagift.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below.
A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns.
vanillagift.com is a questionable website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether vanillagift.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether vanillagift.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check

Card link didn't work and no support, total fail.
Do not waste your money. Bought a gift card as a Christmas bonus, sent it over and it won't work, the linked site has an error message. There's no chat or email support so I called the 833 number on their site and they DO NOT have representatives, only automated options, took a shot and pressed 0, it said "good bye" and hung up on me. Tried again, no option for actual help. Filed a dispute with Paypal.
DO NOT PURCHASE
Got for Christmas...tried to use 3 different places...different amounts.no go...tried logging in web site.big joke kept saying system error. Called number on back of card.1st time got put on hold then dropped. Second time.guy wanted to much info.address birthdate email.I refuse to give it.got hung up on.after 40 minute wait.called back same thing...lady wanted to verify me with all my info...when I refused and said I wanted to check balance.didn't want to give my info.put on hold I finally hung up. Service Value Returns
Vanilla gift cards a waste of time and money.
We were given 2 Vanilla Gift Cards as a present. On trying to use the cards we found that they did not work in most shops and it was impossible to find out how much was left on the card. The terms and conditions applying to the cards would need an experienced lawyer to understand them. They also charge a maintenance fee on the cards. I would advise anyone thinking of purchasing these cards as a gift to think twice and stay well clear. Products used:Vanilla Gift Cards Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies this service works and is trustworthy. It costs only $6.49/month but is worth the cost. U.S., UK, EU, Swiss, and Canadian residents only. Click below.

Guardio has over a million users, and while it is already affordable for the benefits it provides (just a few dollars a month), it covers up to 5 family members. For Scam Detector readers exclusively, Guardio offers a 20% discount this week. You can protect your online browsing from installing malware forever by clicking the button below:
How To Stop Third Parties From Tracking Your Devices
The second most powerful fraud prevention tool you should consider is Surfshark. Here is why you should get it now, as the first 5 months are free:
- They have an award-winning VPN service, protecting your privacy and preventing third parties from tracking your device.
- They will notify you when your personal info is leaked online so you can delete your private data from the Internet immediately.
- Surfshark has a super powerful antivirus program. It offers you effective protection from viruses and zero-day threats, a lightweight, clean, and easy-to-use app, and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
- Check this: They hide your online searches, which means you will get only organic search results without tracking and follow-up ads. For example, when you search for a flight, and the next time you look at the same search, the prices are higher. With Surfshark, this doesn't happen.

Are You the Owner of vanillagift.com?
If you own vanillagift.com, we would love to hear from you. However, if you would like to challenge this review and trust score, we are more than willing to take a deeper look, but be prepared to offer solid proof of your business. Please introduce yourself first (your name, not "Admin"). Consumers are smart. Typically, they don't trust websites that don't show transparency, such as the location of the business, team, or any other physical existence.
When domain owners contact us to challenge the trust score of their website on our website Validator, we would kindly ask them to share some of the following things:
* Details from their ecosystem that would show that they are 100% trustworthy (certificate of incorporation, business registration, official records showing the name of the website or business, etc.).
* Their personal profile on LinkedIn and social media accounts for the business on Facebook.
* If possible, some screenshots/proof of satisfied clients (not testimonials on their website), proof of inventory, canceling orders when requested, etc.).
We are more than willing to update the review right away—the more proof you show, the higher the trust score will be.
I bought a VanillaGift card for my husband last Christmas. He gave it back to me today, saying no one would accept it and he couldn’t spend the money I used to purchase the card. I wish he’d told me sooner but under the circumstances, I think I will contact my state attorney general and state consumer agency to investigate, given the issues other people have had.
This is truly disappointing and, hopefully can be rectified. I’m no pollyanna (not by a long shot) but this kind of thing is terribly upsetting. I will also notify Vons where I purchased the card to encourage them to pull these cards from their shelves and keep others from being caught up in this potential fraud.
I bought a vanilla gift card.. the money was immediately gone. Customer service was a joke.. this IS a scam. They give you crap answers and run you around until you wish to give up on getting your money back. The most unprofessional people I’ve encountered in a long time. This site should be taken down.
bought a $500 vanilla card for my fiancee, before she even saw it, someone spent it all at Nordstrom
Total scam. My nephew sent me $50.00 for Christmas and he sent $50 to his mom. She never got the e-mail for the $50. He never got the $50 back. On mine I activated it but had never used it. I just checked the balance and it says I spent $40.00 at a 7-Eleven and the other $10 somewhere and it now has a $0.00 balance. I haven’t been to a 7-Eleven in ages as most of them near me are either closed or they are just a convenience store (not a gas station) so no need to stop.
