umpquabank.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives umpquabank.com a medium-risk trust score on the platform: 66.6. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Known. Vetted. Low Risk.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 66.6 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to umpquabank.com's industry. The algorithm detected a slightly lower risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, noted in the Known. Vetted. Low Risk. tags above. Long story short, we recommend staying vigilant and using common sense when engaging with this website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning umpquabank.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between umpquabank.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of umpquabank.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of umpquabank.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. umpquabank.com is likely a safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether umpquabank.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether umpquabank.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, umpquabank.com.

Their commercial banking option is the worst I have ever experienced. Am a licensed bookkeeper working for law firms and while their Business Banking option is sound, the commercial banking option reports inaccurate transactions, is cumbersome and almost impossible to work with. DON'T SWITCH TO UMPQUA if you are a business.
Drew money from the wrong account and caused my FICO score to go down. Incompetent bank.
My 82 yr old mom had a Straight talk phone service and when Verizon took them over her phone stopped working. She could not access that account because Verizon demanded a 4 digit pin that never existed. In asking how we could stop the automated withdrawal Straight talk told us to cancel with the bank. So we canceled the card. The charge went through anyway. The card had not been canceled so I canceled it again. The next month she was charged again! Apparently Umpqua, Visa and big merchants have a deal that even though you cancel the card they are paid. Supposedly this is so people don’t have to renter new card information to these merchants. I even turned this into the fraud department to be denied! She is having to close her account (she has had about 30 years) to stop them giving her money away!!BEWARE!! Just because you cancel your card does not mean that Umpqua can’t pick and choose who gets paid. Their relationship with the other companies is much more important then the customers!!!Shame on UMPQUA!!!
Columbia Bank was great- Umpqua has ruined it. They got hacked, so my debit card was used fraudulently . 90 minutes on phone hold, a trip to 3 separate branches because of equipment (printer ) failures and 2 hours away from work finally got it taken care of.
This is BY FAR the wost bank I've ever worked with! Their online banking system is worthless and when you call in it takes forever to connect with someone and then if they are able to help you are extremel lucky! I'm so tired of the poor service at this bank but I have an SBA loan through them and don't know if I can transfer this to another bank.
Took this bank ten days to resolve a bank error charge on my account. They also couldn't get a correct form to pay off a line of credit over to another bank for a HELOC with that other bank. In the process I lost the HELOC due to Umpquas inability to resolve the bank error charge on my account in a timely manner. Moved all my accounts to a local credit union. Do not bank here.
What can I say that hasn't been said, well I was told my available balance isn't available, and I had to show proof the incoming transfer was in my name, so showed them proof and they then restricted my account. I am a 100% service-connected army veteran and it was disability from my sofi account. 2 days later I have still yet to receive my deposit. They have been extremely rude and dishonest, I'm appalled and closing my account. Customers everywhere beware and avoid this bank at all costs. The Coos bay Umpqua bank is by far the worst institution Ive ever banked with. Veteran's everywhere avoid and boycott this aweful place. They treated me like a bum.
I was with Columbia for over 30 years with few issues. Since the merger with Umpqua the customer service has been extremely rude and just plain mean. I would contact corporate but seems they don't care based on reviews since merger
Bank with Umpqua if you want to suddenly not have access to your money because "a long a holiday weekend can slow down their system." I woke up today and my account info is completely missing from the site upon logging in. No account number, no balance. I go to the bank to speak to someone and the best they can tell me is that Memorial Day weekend caused an issue with their system and they can't tell me when I'll be able to view my account again. They said I should use another card in the meantime. The person helping me chuckled at the end as they shrugged and said that they'll have to deal with this issue now too. Everything about this bank - including their customer service, website and policies are outdated and dysfunctional. It took me three messages to change my address when I moved. They finally upped their limit of $300 Zelle transactions to $500 - laughable. I didn't even know there were transaction limits at my other banks.Just go with another bank where they at least pretend to care about your money.
Worst bank I have ever dealt with. First of all they charged me 75 bucks for 2 books of checks. My other bank never charged me a penny. Second I have two accounts that both have freezes on bill pay. I tried calling the automated number 6 times and was disconnected every time. I asked Umpqua bank to take care of this and they won't. Horrible customer service. Nobody knows how to take care of issues and they just send you to an automated number. I'm surprised they are still in business.
Do not bank with Umpqua. Terrible customer service and very poor communication on all fronts. They froze my account from possible fraud (which was great), but then never notified me that they were closing the account, still permitting me to deposit funds. They had my mail, phone number, and email, but chose not to notify me at all that my account was disabled. So, all of my bills, credit cards, and rent payments were rejected, causing me to get hit with hundreds of dollars in late fees.I am now spending days trying to correct the matter (like updating auto-pay options across all of the apps I use to having to take a day off work to drive to the nearest Umpqua to pick up a check). There are a host of other issues with this outdated institution, but you can just read the other reviews for those...In the age of digital banks with higher APY, why even waste time with the likes of this local garbage bank?!
There always seems to be some bumps in the road as your bank changes from one organization to another however this change has been relatively issue free. The key word here is relatively, since there are some issues that concern me.You do not list all Pending Transactions (mainly my government check) in a timely manner.Your web side does not have the capability of me asking a question or voicing a concern, I miss that capability.Recently you changed the account number on one of my accounts without notifying me. I did not receive a replacement card before the old one expired. Under Columbia Bank, I could come in and get a new card issued on the spot. However they cannot do that so I must wait for one to be ordered in.Your interest rates on Savings accounts are in the Pitiful range, this resulted me in moving over 20 K out of your bank to another institution. I will continue to do so until your rates improve.I have been with this Bank for over 50 years. Mainly because the Silverdale Branch has some great people associated with it. However nothing is for certain and that can change in a hurry. Jim
I feel badly for the folks that work at my local branch in Lakewood. When the bank was Columbia Bank it was a great place to do business. Now that it’s been sold to Umpqua the same staff works there but the banking services online really sucks. There are way too many things to list and I have tried to complain to upper management but they could care less. The local staff always apologizes for them, I know they feel bad having to work at an inept bank. Now they have stopped Saturday hours. I have been putting off changing banks because I have extensive pay to accounts that I will need to transfer to a new bank but I am fast realizing that I will have to do it.
This Bank does not know to handle and convert foreign currency to American dollars. I took foreign currency to them to get converted to American dollars. Not only did they mess up on the type of foreign currency they exchanged but told me they could not help me when I went back in to to correct the problem. Closed my account.
After years at Umpqua Bank we are closing our account. I was trying to renew our PC protection software and my debit card was declined. I called the national number and was told the program I was attempting to renew was fraud. This is absolutely 100% false! I have been using it since 1998. I repaired PCs and used it to clean viruses, fix Windows Registry files, and so much more! It keeps web pages from gathering information on me, my network secure, and my kids PCs safe. To think that I was told I cannot spend my own money on something completely legal... I would have thought "they wouldn't dare" if it didn't happen to me. How dystopian! An institution deciding what you can and cannot purchase?! I renewed this program with Umpqua for several years. This time I had to use our other bank which doesn't have a local branch, this is why we used Umpqua as a second. Well, no longer!
If I could give a one star I would. Since the merger they are now raising fees on business accounts .. called to close my account on hold for over 40 minutes put back on hold then answered the security questions Said I had reoccurring debits… back on hold .. new guy Nathaniel asked same question again. Was all set to close then I had to tell them what month and year I opened the account. Guessed at it and was told I had to go into a branch to close since it was wrongSo much time wasted. I will go out if my way to tell everyone not to do business with these clowns
I turned to them when I was fraudulently charged for a service , by a vendor that I hadn’t asked for. They were positive at first and said they would get it straightened out. A month later I got an letter stating that since it was not a problem they created, they couldn’t/wouldn’t help with. I never told them that they had created the problem but the vendor had. Now I’m stuck having to start all over. I was ripped off for about $800 by Yelp and can’t get a response from them.
your teller at the bank window was incredibly rude to me. then when i told the manager about it, she was incredibly rude as well. Vancouver wa, mill plain branch. what a waste
Banking products over charge for customary services, cashiers checks, notary, etc.
I really enjoy banking with Umpqua. Always a nice experience, whether online, or in person.

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
