Is ukphonebook.com Legit?

It seems I have to give them one star, otherwise it'd be none.I went on there to get a phone number, which has cost me a tenner.So you can imagine my surprise and delight, when it turns out that they didn't have the phone number! The person was listed, but no number for them. No doubt if I'd read the Ts&C's it would have warned me. But I didn't bother as there were an awful lot of them. I foolishly thought that phone numbers were what they were all about .., being called directory of enquiries from UK phone book .Unimpressed!

Not very happy that my name is on this list, I would your email address to request for a removal form please.

Absolutely amazing, so much better than 192, I've found three lost friends using phone book. I'm so glad phonebook still exists in a world full of high technology. Thanks so much phonebook you made my life so much more happier.

Following my 2-star review dated 28.9.18, I find, looking back, that I was able to get help with my issues (and talk to a real person) by contacting Simunix (based in, I think, York & presumably parent co. of UKPhonebook), see simunix.com /contact-us/ (there should be no space between com and /contact but no links are allowed in reviews, apparently.Hope this may help other complainers.

Having entered my email address with a mistake, I was unable to re-connect after leaving the site. This was sorted the next day by customer support. There are some limitations in the data that can be retrieved which might explain why I could not find who I was looking for, even though I know they are still living in the area.

Generally this is a very useful company - seems to be more uptodate than the electoral search engine I use elsewhere. Only downside would be the cost of credits. Would still recommend and will continue to use.

Great for looking up numbers for people you've lost contact with! My reason for A4 star is because the credits run out if you don't use them. I lost several credits which was disappointing

The service the company provides is invaluable to me. Customer service was good when I needed it, but the result was disappointing in that previous searches weren't saved. Recommended overall, but be sure to download your data and save it yourself.

I used ukphonebook.com at uni to find people stats and businesses in specific postcodes and it was really helpful. Great customer support too!

I made an error when buying credits. After emailing them about this I received a prompt and courteous response, from Patrick, offering a part refund - which I really appreciated

How can you purchase credits 10 months ago to then be told your purchase is being taken off you !!! I have credits remaining following a search for a very dear friend and these credits are now being taken off me. I know I’ll get a response saying I should have read the terms and conditions but purchasing credits is not a purchase on this site … you are merely borrowing for a charge … disgusting practice

The search was easy to use and I got the address and telephone number I wanted for free. You have to pay after 5 searches and other services on the website do cost, but I think that’s fair enough. Would definitely recommend using them.

Violation of people's private data without consent. My full information is listed on that website without permission. They have refused to remove it and asked me to fill out a complicated removal form that doesn't work - it keeps giving errors.

Disgusting company. Selling people's personal data? Where did you get this from? I hate companies like this - don't you understand the risks you subject people too? The only reason I'm not taking legal action is the information is INACCURATE anyway. Joke of a site. And bet you any money their own addresses are all kept private....

I've used the free part of this service for years, it was my first choice when trying to find a person/number.A few months ago I phoned in to ask a question about their site to be told I was using an out of date version and they would update me.BIG mistake. This current site isn't a patch on the old one. I wish I could wind the clock back! My first port of call when searching for a person or an address or number is now BT which says a lot about how bad this one has become!!!

I needed to find the address and postcode of a friend I lost contact with years ago and stumbled on this site. Didn't charge me and I found what I needed. I'll certainly use again (rather than call 118 directory enquiries numbers).

I had used ukphonebook.com before to find my friends postcode. Didn’t realise you could also get info about companies on there. Found out all about a firm who are advertising a job, so it was very useful for me.

I strongly recommend that people avoid this "service". Their data is so sparse as to be entirely useless outside that which is generally available on free services. Naturally you don't find this out until you've subscribed and your search brings up... nothing.

Really awful website, after failing to find several people, I put my own name and my husbands name, address etc. We are most definitely on the electoral register and we definitely know where we live, and there were no results for either of us. How can that possibly happen?!! Do not waste your money.
