truthfinder.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives truthfinder.com a fairly high trust score on the platform: 81.9. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Fair. Valid. Known.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 81.9 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to truthfinder.com's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Fair. Valid. Known. tags above. Long story short, we deemed this a known website, with a low scam probability. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning truthfinder.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between truthfinder.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of truthfinder.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of truthfinder.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. truthfinder.com is an innocuous suspicious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether truthfinder.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether truthfinder.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, truthfinder.com.

Cannot get them to stop billing Paypal after canceling their service. BUYER BEWARE! THIS IS A RIPOFF
Call answered right away. Very nice and helpful person. Easy to cancel service and I asked for a refund for a very recent charge and received it no problem! Thank you!
TruthFinder is such a waste of time. They got me to input all my personal information, made me sit through 15 minutes of loading screens, only to ask for payment at the very end! If they’re going to charge for the report, they should be upfront about it instead of wasting your time pretending it’s free.It felt like a bait-and-switch, and honestly, it’s frustrating and unprofessional. If you value your time, avoid this site—it’s not worth the hassle.
This is the worst site a total scam charge for a info look unlimited service and I couldn’t even log in and now their refusing to refund me my 30.00 back this is fraud please stay clear of these people!! Still no refund
Honestly, this company needs to be investigated. They allowed a landlord to pull information to verify my background. Problem is the information in the report was not just my information. It contained information on another person as well. The landlord just assumed I was the felon and denied me the rental property without contacting the law-enforcement agency and verifying the information as accurate. Companies like this need to be regulated and the information verified before posting it to their site. This is completely unfair and libelous.
Continuously was being charged $4.31 monthly after cancelling subscription in September 2024. I would greatly appreciate any refund assistance prior to submitting my Truthfinder review.Thank you
It is fake don’t fall for it this should be illegal It said that I’m on a government watch list and had graphic images on me and information about me on there like what if someone looked me up and saw that that would ruin so many lives and people this should be illegal it’s not right i am freaking out about this
I believed I signed up for one session only but am being billed for ongoing service which I do not need, Also, in my search for information, I found incorrect information on me but I don't know how to correct it. The person I spoke to was of no help. Truthfinder was of no help in my search.
Everything I found on page I already knew but what was confusing was the many relatives for which I wasn’t interested
Much of the information is outdated.People who I know exist and have detailed information about them don’t exist at all.Known criminals are showing no criminal history. The information isn’t worth more than the dollar I paid.
I asked the website to find a former fellow employee of an airline in Daytona Beach, FL. That should have been easy to do if Truthfinder really uses work history to find someone - as they advertise -as there is only one person with this name who worked at this airline in this city. They showed a list of people they said fit the description I gave then charged me about $33 to see the list. The person I was looking for is not on the list. It was a list of people with the same name that did not include the name of the person that worked at the airline.
Totally a scam to say your site is free to use in a search engine for information. If you were an honest company and not phishing the amount you charge should appear on the first page of your website. But no, you have to waste valuable time (over 30 minutes) just to see you will be charged $28.33 per month for 1 month of unlimited reports, or $23.52 per month for 2 months of unlimited reports. I wish I would’ve checked the TrustPilot.com site for reviews. Truthfinder only received 1.6 stars from 1400 reviews!
Very deceptive company. Not worth the money.
Beware! This company's billing practices are misleading to the point of being fraudulent. I signed up for the one-month package, and the company continued to charge me. I noticed the charge when I was billed for the second time. I missed the previous month's charge. The customer service refused to reverse the charges even though I had canceled one day after the second charge hit my credit car
waste of time literally charges you at the very end what a crappy way of making money you all should (KeYS)
Not true, information is wrong and to get any type of result it’s takes forever!! Literally you just get tired of pages loading false information. It just a waste of time
Unfking believable.. Run!!!! Fraud Fraud Fraud FraudFraud FraudFraud FraudFraud FraudFraud Fraud. Shame on you pretending to be legitimate while you laugh all the way to the bank!!!! Monthly fee buys you the right to buy more, not to get data. I hate people like you. You give the human race a bad name!
The truth is that they charge HIGH prices that they do not disclose upfront for information you can find yourself. Put the prices upfront. To wait and wait and wait while they pretend to scan databases is nonsense. Notice the response below and how they simply refuse to address my concern. NO ONE has suggested they provide anything for free. What I have said, and quite clearly, is that they are not UPFRONT, which makes them duplicitous and untrustworthy. The fact that they ignore that entirely is quite damning.
Terrible service that preys on the elderly and gullible people. False marketing, absolutely no morals, and horrid experience. All 5 start reviews here are bots. I barely ever write a negative review but this site is disgusting enough for me to feel the need to trash the service.
Customer Service was very courteous and helpful.

Two different things, the info for my age is 72(84), my wife 72(passed away 10 years ago. Can't trust any of the information they sent. Only used it one time but will be last. $28.33 plus tax down the drain. Products used:Unlimited Person Report Service Value Quality
“Untruthful”
They are crooks who make you spend a lot of time thinking that you would get free information and then at the end of about 20 mins they pop the surprise that there is a fee. Silly, Ill stick to Checkmate! “If I could give them a zero I would”
I have paid@ $30 a month for the last six months. Despite paying for unlimited, I was capped at 8 reports. They claim I requested over 300 reports because each time I opened one of the 8 reports, they counted it as a new request. The hold time to reach a representative was excessive. When I finally reached someone, the hung up on me. Their hours of operation are limited compared to other services of this type. Products used:directory assiistance Service Value
“They were fine, until double charging me after cancelation.”
I used them, and paid a fee. I got what I needed, and canceled. They just charged me $28.33, which is more than originally. I even got an email telling me I had until the end of the month. Disputing charge. Tip for consumers:REOCCURRING BILLING. Service Value Quality
“Worst experience EVER!”
I have stage 4 cancer and wanted to find one of my very best friends from childhood - so decided to sign up for a short term membership to find contact info for folks that I could connect to online. I did the right thing and cancelled - received the attached email from Truthfinder - so thought all was good. I was not only charged - but charged two more times after this email! When I reached out to my PayPal account to request a charge back to Truthfinder - their Bot just simply stated that Truthfinder had done everything appropriately! Needless to say - I immediately closed my PayPal account! I still have not received a refund and PayPal is still holding excess funds of mine! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! Tip for consumers:PayPal needs to stop using bots to make customer service decisions as well! Products used:Contact Information Service Value Quality

“Not giving current addresses”
I just signed up for Truthfinder today and am cancelling it right away, I was trying to find someone that scammed me and hoping for their current address.they don't list their current address but previous ones that they say are current. I found no further information about them as well. I believe it is a scam!
“Long process to get a report, then you have to pay.”
We googled someone, then checked the 'details' box. After going through about 15 minutes or more of answering questions, we get to the very end and find out we have to now pay to get the report. There was no mention of that up front, so we wasted 15 minutes of our lives for nothing. Thanks for nothing Truthfinder. Service Value
“Accurate information”
It's great to hear that you've had a positive experience with Truthfinder.com, finding their information accurate and reliable for over two years. Your tip about checking all results for individuals using different names is valuable for users. If you have any more feedback or questions, feel free to share!
“Damaging INCORRECT PERSONAL INFORMATION”
I just looked up my own personal file; Truth Finder has me listed as some sort of criminal. I have NO criminal record. It also has me on a government watch list. Why would I be on a government watch list? I have not been in any protests or threaten anyone. I am retired and I stay home every day. They have people connected to me that I don't even know. The most I have received is a traffic ticket for going through a red-light district. It is not using my full name and your website had me living in Aubrey Texas, I NEVER LIVED IN Aubrey, TX. Tip for consumers:Before you put some negative INCORRECT information on a Person, make sure it is true to facts. Service Quality
“This Company Will Steal Money From Your Bank Account”
If I could give 0 stars I would. I deactivated my account about a year ago. In September of 2023 I noticed my bank account was still being debited $28.05, $7.99, $3.99 every month. I called and was assured the charges would stop and that I would be refunded for the charges made since cancellation. In January of 2024 I noticed that I was still being charged and was never refunded. I called and got the same promise. It is now May of 2024 and I have yet to see a refund and they have debited those amounts from my account each month. The charges add up to $260.07. I have emailed several times over the last seven days with no response. I had to get a new debit card and my bank is investigating this as fraud. This really is nothing short of theft. Do NOT use this service. There are other much better much more thorough services that will not steal your money. I suggest you use those. The photo on my review is the screenshot from September 2023 where my account had already been inactive for 191 days Tip for consumers:They are thieves Products used:The service they provide-people search Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Won't ever use them”
I simply wanted to find an address for someone. Truthfinder popped up first so I foolishly proceeded. I didn't get the address, nor did I pay anything, but now I keep getting popups on my computer telling me my report is ready and I need to pay for it. I have written them several times asking them to stop sending the notice and to not contact me anymore, but to no avail. They make it next to impossible to contact them, and when you finally figure out how, they ignore you. I will NEVER use this service.
“I am sure this place”
I am victim of domestic and they share my address this is the only website that has my new address I contacted them and they just don't care don't even answer my email. I am on risk to be kill and severe anxiety because of them Products used:I don't have any account with them and they put me on risk like that Service Value Shipping Quality
“No help for estranged siblings”
Looking for estranged sister and brother. The reports had lots of useless outdated information that I already knew. The sales method is to charge for another and another bit of information - annoying. Waste of $34 Quality
“I can find all this for free on the web. Waste of money!”
Links to social media won't work, other errors, pages not found... All you see is an address history, often incorrect. No criminal though I know it exists. Addresses and known associates incorrect when searching for myself. Don't waste your time or money. Tip for consumers:Do not give information they state Products used:Online service Value Quality
“You'll find more on a free google search”
Do not use this service. There are many more efficient and less expensive options. This "search" didn't show me anything you can't find with a simple google search. In fact I found more on google. What a joke. It's already almost $30 and then they try to get you with another $3.99 to download the so called report that you haven't even seen yet. Don't waste your time or money. Tip for consumers:That it doesn’t provide what’s advertised Products used:I got no information that I couldn’t already find with google. Ridiculous. Service Value Quality
“Total CRAP”
What a waste of money! Nothing new except totally incorrect information. All the information they had can easily be found with a simple google search. They said my name was on some government watch list. Yet they have no proof. Fishing scam! Service Value Quality
“Really old info”
I joined to see if I could find some public records on a friend's boyfriend. I already knew more than what the search came back with. The address was very old and there was a few things marked NO, such as a bankrupt event that happened years ago that was not on their report either. Total waste of money. Tip for consumers:Don't look for newer than several years Products used:Search service Service Value Quality
“Complete RIP-OFF”
Tried this site because of it's "claim" of accuracy. Checked both my sons and report said no criminal history. One son has MAJOR FELONY convictions in two different states. Don't get robbed of the $30. Complete scam in my opinion!
“Wastes your time”
Wastes your time trying to bait you into buying inaccurate and falsified information. Save yourself the headache and go to an actual professional for this sort of stuff. Tip for consumers:site full of malware Products used:background reports Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“System Billing Error, Incredible Customer Service”
I had cancelled my subscription to Truthfinder online and received a confirmation email. However, charges continued. When I contacted Truthfinder customer support via telephone, I was connected to an agent in less than one minute. After I provided the subscription ID from the cancellation confirmation, the agent was immediately able to identify the issue (duplicate subscriptions, hence four not five stars). They cancelled the second subscription and initiated a full refund. This is the best customer service interaction I've had in a very long time. Service Value Quality
“Terrible”
Took 20 minutes of bull$#*! fake loading $#*!. Then wants to charge you a bunch of money after making you look at 20 different loading screens. Its a waste of time. Products used:Service Service Value
“DOES NOTHING FOR YOU”
Scam website. It shows everything a person already knows. It tries to hook you in by saying we found xyz, then when you are actually on a persons profile theres nothing new. Other than name, address, and siblings. Not even accurate results.
“NOT worth what they charge!”
I purchased a "report" on myself hoping to find some dates from my ancient past for a document I was filling out... Needless to say, the "public records" they promised were not included... Also, there was a whole plethora of bogus information that was in no way, shape, form, or fashion even related to me... Apparently, truthfinder couldn't find the "truth" if they were trapped inside a garbage bag with it... You can use Google and get as much information as you can get from these "experts"... DO NOT waste your money... Since I cannot get a refund, I will be leaving honest negative reviews everywhere available informing everyone of their scam-like practices hopefully before they get duped out of $28... Tip for consumers:Don't even bother... Google is just as useful and a whole hell of a lot cheaper... Products used:Background report... And, I didn't end up using it because there was nothing useable in it...
“Helps give insight about new neighbors”
I've moved to a new, unfamiliar area, and I use TruthFinder to look up neighbors and people here. TF helps me get some insight into - or verify - their backgrounds and status (like age). Actual birthdates of people seem to have disappeared, so I'm unhappy about that. Products used:Search service Service Value Quality

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies this service works and is trustworthy. It costs only $6.49/month but is worth the cost. U.S., UK, EU, Swiss, and Canadian residents only. Click below.
