Is trugreen.com Legit?

I have been a customer for longer than I should have -- five years. I've talked to regional directors (who have been to the house), customer care more than ten times, etc, etc. I've lost hundreds of square feet of grass to diseases, fungus, and more and weeds have taken over. I've been promised free plugs; never happened. Promised chemical testing; never happened. Customer case is always nice and promises a fix. Every time. Local (Tallahassee) office doesn't do it. Bottom line is that they won't fix the problem nor will they replace the dead grass. They always say we'll give you another free treatment. I'm looking forward to placing reviews everywhere I can -- TruGreen's guarantee is worthless and I've wasted thousands of dollars with them.

TruGreen is the worst lawn care ever.The communications are frustrating, and to add insult to injury, The person answering the phone asks how we may provide excellent service.After several attempts, I was finally contacted by a branch manager. My ask was very simple: come out and take a look at my lawns and tell me if you are doing your job.His response was that they had not touched this lower lawn. Really? Kudos to you. The next question, then, is why did I pay for it? 32 emails later and failing to acknowledge this. Time to have them explain their actions in a more formal setting.Feel free to follow along. TrueGreen is not a company who cares about any lawn The lawns that they're supposed to maintain. We have called continuously for continued large amount of weeds in our lawn, killing are plants with their chemicals, Not actually looking at our lawn each visit to see what it might need, Did not notice chintz bugs in our lawn Until it was too late, Continually, placing sod patches where the areas were not treated properly. Installing dead sod squares and saying they did something About it. Customer service is a crap shoot, Customer service one day, no customer service on another day. Will never recommend this company.

I signed up for multiple services and used the services for a year. I used the app as well. The services were expensive for the small bit of yard we had and we saw no improvement. I canceled, which required a phone call to the company. Then, I started getting bombarded with sales calls. I finally answered one to tell them to stop calling, and he started to put the pressure on. I told him we knew how to find them if we decided to sign up and to please stop calling because I was getting 2-3 calls a day. He then hung up on me! That’s what prompted me to write this review. Poor services, expensive services for nothing, harassment, then just downright rude salesperson!

We prepaid for a year’s service including lawn maintenance with fertilization and weed control, plus one time aeration. A second prepaid payment was made for mosquitos control treatments for the remainder of 2024. Every treatment performed has resulted in a complaint of some sort. First mosquito control treatment has been repeated twice, only to find out two of three treatments were charged. First aeration was done with a broken, ineffective machine. Second aeration performed at no additional charge resulted in large areas of the front yard having wide brown streaks. Requests for management to call were ignored. Pictures showing damage were also ignored. Aeration cost was quoted as $98, but charged $150. Still negotiating for a refund. I wish photos could be attached. We have been nominated for worst yard of the century.

The frist couple of times they been out to the house it was ok..then the following year came and the Driver pulled up sat in his truck and printed me invoice put it on my door than drove away not spraying anything now my frt yard has alot of crab grass..Needless to say I cancel them horrible service

We kept thinking we had to give it time. Well after a year our grass looks worse than it ever has. No one ever answers phone in the office. Sent photos via email and was told it was a watering issue. Had two companies come out we had to pay for and both said watering isn’t issue it’s the thatching wasn’t done correctly. I received a request to answer a survey and I did honestly and how quick did they call! Offered free thatching and I was too far gone. Then they tried to say it was my fault when I wouldn’t agree to remove survey. Keep your money and hire someone that is reputable.

Michael is very knowledgeable. The rest of the services are terrible!! We have more weeds and bare spots since Trugreen took over this year.

Their service is OK, but I was led to believe I could pre-pay for a year for seven applications. Unfortunately, they made seven applications within nine months and charged me for an additional Application I did not request. I’ve permanently canceled. I will never use them again.

TruGreen has been providing us lawn and tree services in Michigan for years. Could not be happier with the Specialists, services or the products. The Specialist, Christopher Leatzau, provided an evaluation of our lawn and its problems, and solutions.

We are not a customer of TruGreen. And we never will be! They came into our neighborhood on rebel cove in Jackson Tennessee this morning at around 6:00 a little bit before 6:00 and started spraying a yard making all kinds of noise before people were actually awake this is totally unacceptable

Excellent local tech in Maryland. Shady seeming business practice in the corporate business office. Called consumer rep several times for explanation, told someone would get back to me but nada. Frustrating.

Horrible service. Sprayed two of our apple trees and killed them. Trees were fine prior to me WATCHING them spray them now they're dead. Sent a "supervisor" out to look at the trees. Said, well we don't spray apple trees but if we did it's not anything that would kill the leaves. Weird since they're now dead and were fine BEFORE spraying. Would not recommend since they talk out both sides of their mouth. The "supervisor" was more interested in whining about driving out to look at the trees that they killed. If I could give negative stars, I would.

Great for killing weeds, but watch out, they'll kill everything else in your yard that you care about. Killed vegetables in raised beds, killed specimen trees that are CLEARLY marked with mulch, and recklessly spray chemicals in places it should not be. Their employees are very reliable, but are in such a rush to get wherever they need to be next. They take very little time to protect your sensitive plants, trees, etc, then are gone like the wind. I totally regret paying them for a one-year service contract and do not recommend this company at all!

Their tree and shrub service is a joke.Placed order end of June. Local office was to call me back. Never did. I called and messaged their office and the 800 service. Never got a return call. Scheduled service online for 7/11.Morning of 7/11 online CS told me they would be here between 1 - 6 that day. The showed up around 8:30. Tech was supposed to identify all trees and scrubs on property. He had no idea. Guessed at some tree problems but was only able to apply premixed chemicals on truck. Truck they sent could only treat bottom half of trees. What was the point?800 number sales service made service commitments the local agent was unable or unwilling to meet. Not the service I wanted at all.

NO SHOW!! Inconsistency with scheduling. Every time I call I receive a different date. The on-going M.O. theme is there has been an “Emergency “ with the technician.Customer service representatives come across as “Crackheads”

I have had TruGreen service for less than a year. Local Lady gives me pricing but cannot put it in writing. Customer service has been in Memphis,Detroit,and most often outside the Us. I have talked to at least 12 customer service representatives about pricing issues and service issues on the days they are supposed to service. Supposedly I have a gate now that they could not open ridiculous customer service. Cannot talk to management or answer simple question how much seed does it calculate when you aerate and overseed my size yard? Simple question

Tru green is a complete waist of money. I had the service for almost two years and my lawn looked worste after all the treatments than it did before they started. Very dissatisfied and will never use again. I even had there own sales people walking through the neighbor hood that couldn't believe I already had there service.

By the end of the second year using Tru Green my lawn had become over 80% crab grass. I canceled the service after getting no resolution. The following year they showed up and fraudulently charged my credit card. I called to have this resolved and they said they would credit my card but they never did. They actually destroyed new grass seed that I had just planted. Worst company ever.

Worst customer service and pathetic application of product. We have 24,000 sq feet of lawn 1st application did nothing to kill basic weeds. Complained and they said they would perform a re-do 2nd application still did not damage the weeds. We’re told with their coupon we would get 50% off first application and since we paid in advance we would get that refund in 7-10 days. It never came it’s been two months. We called to cancel service and got the runaround. You can’t talk to anyone local, you have to use one of several call centers. Think twice before contracting with this company. I personally would not recommend them.
