tripadvisor.com.au Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives tripadvisor.com.au one of the lowest trust scores on the platform: 11.2. It signals that the business could be defined by the following tags: Untrustworthy. Risky. Danger.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this low score? We came up with the 11.2 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to tripadvisor.com.au's industry. The algorithm detected high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Untrustworthy. Risky. Danger. tags above. Long story short, we recommend staying away from this website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning tripadvisor.com.au, let's look closer at the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between tripadvisor.com.au and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of tripadvisor.com.au. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of tripadvisor.com.au, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. tripadvisor.com.au is a suspicious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether tripadvisor.com.au has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether tripadvisor.com.au boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, tripadvisor.com.au.

I was booked on two tours for exactly the same experience on exactly the same day. I tried to contact the operators to cancel one and was unable to get any results. They both told me to contact Tripadvisor. I contacted Tripadvisor and they said it was up to the operators. I wrote email requesting a refund from Tripadvisor. They refused to give me a refund. I am now out of pocket over $400. I did not receive a confirmation email for one of the 2 bookings so was not aware that it was made until the day before the tour when I received an SMS. Very frustrated and upset about this. Tripadvisor have not offered any help with my situation and yet it is their Platform that caused the problem!!!
TripAdvisor recently removed a pending positive review of Pullman Bali without telling me there was a problem which I dont believe there was. I have written many reviews on there and never had a problem. Their contact us form doesnt work no matter what option you choose. Pretty poor performance on their part.
TripAdvisor only publish pretty much positive reviews. They won’t publish honest truths about things citing it doesn’t meet their criteria. I don’t trust their reviews anymore as if negative things have happened they refuse to punish the review when the facts are clear. Waste of time using them
your web site does not verified user and as a consequence it becomes a tool for competitors/haters/stalkers/delinquents/mob.you should consider in listen to both partiesyou shouldn't allow the uploading of photos with business informationyou should not allow insults or the use of despicable not constructive feedbackthere are multiple scams happening on a daily base using your web site as a blackmailwhen we provide info on a scammer you just knock it down by saying that the reviewer can write what ever he wants about anything!your staff should get some traininganybody can open multiple pages of the same venue to just do whatever they want with it and you don't even check on that
they allowed a client to review me when this client never stayed in our hotel not a good company, to allow this its fraud so you deserve 1 star for this its called Karma
If law is applied, Tripadvisor would be dragged into court for false advertising. Their indexed Search results on Google show bait low prices for hotels and the price suddenly jumps significantly when you click the linked pages. I have a link for a hotel showing a price of $147 per night for a particular hotel but when I click on the link, it sets the price at $205.. This just made me decide to stay clear from that website.. If they publish false and bait advertising, then I would question the authenticity of their reviews and ratings.. I decided to book through the hotel itself direct which turns out to be cheaper than Tripadvisor anyway.
A warning to travellers pre booking a uber taxi be carefully I was recently charged for a ride from robina to broadbeach cost $36.00 I pre booked the ride and was charged even the time it took to do the trip. Problem was taxi never turned up cannot contact the cheating bustards.
They have failed to acknowledge or deal with a libelous comment on a review which has been accepted as untrue and defamatory. We are being taken to task over this but despite wanting to resolve the issue, we cannot because Tripadvisor refuse to act.If you wish to complain or take legal access they require you to write via snail mail to an address in the USA. This is clearly intended to deter complainants as they don't even respond when you do.They require no verification or validation from their account holders meaning that the platform cannot possibly be relied on. Worse still, you can't opt out so at this stage anyone can write anything about anyone else and the victim has no genuine redress. If someone can explain how that could be fair, I am very willing to listen.
Best Advice when travelling to new places look to TripAdvisor for restaurants, accomodation, sight seeing adventures even your plane trip or other means of travel. We go away quite often but plan most of what we will do before handusing TripAdvisor.
We stayed here in May - what a beautiful hotel, the staff were so warm and welcoming, we had a few pre dinner drinks then headed into the restaurant for dinner which had heaps to choose from. We had a family room which was small but very comfortable with a beautiful view over the water, what a great little place to stay for the region. Thank you Kermandie.
Trip adviser is very good at getting the break down of a property and the individual experiences of families through to business people. It falls down on two points. One are the photo's provided by travellers are often quite poor and would be good if they are screened before publishing. The other aspect is when you want to review a property you are being pushed into booking. This should come after reviewing a property.
Has been a great source of info although one of the problems I've found is that the mostly highly rated or prominent restaurants are those that tend to be 'tourist traps'. Would be great if their algos could give more prominence to local restaurants that aren't flooded with tourists.
Recently stayed 3 nights here in a King Studio Cabin. Very disappointed ,very small shower, noisey air conditioner for some heating, web site is a bit misleading as far as cooking facilities.Unfriendly staff would not recommend 3 out of 10
TripAdvisor is fantastic for getting quick feedback and experiences from real people. Looking for a place to eat out and are worried about allergies? TripAdvisor it! Want a fair price on a good quality hotel? TripAdvisor it! You can even find reviews on sight seeing and attractions which helps to plan day trips and holidays. I love the TripAdvisor app and use it often to scope out new places or simply to offer advice to other people looking to share an experience. It’s a world of knowledge right there in your pocket!
I booked a hotel but found the bed was damaged and asked to refund but Tripadvisor said the Hotel don’t allow changes. Ended us looking for another hotel of our own in the middle of night 2am. Few days later I booked another of their hotel but the date was somehow registered a day earlier. Tried to amend online but can’t. Called TripAdvisor but was very hard to reach. But finally got through they won’t change the date and said the hotel disallowed changes. I called the hotel they said they allow changes. Called TripAdvisor back but they insisted Hotel doesn’t allow changes despite I got confirmation it’s not true. Once your money passed over they act like mafia. Never will book through TripAdvisor again. Just use their apps for infor and book direct. Then there was the ticketing issue but suffice to said my bank has started a Dispute case against them.
Getting information from people who have actually been to the place reviewed is very helpful. Many times these reviews determine what I'm going to choose.I am not as happy as I was with the Top Ten things to do in a particular place because it seems to be mostly advertising for people pushing tours. Previously I could find a list of places/things; I don't want a tour until I've decided just what I want to do.
TripAdvisor is a very valuable resource when planning trips and meals out. I find the “Things to do” very useful. We have rarely been let down with hotels and restaurants, but occasionally we are surprised at ratings. We have got into the habit of discounting ratings from people with only one rating to their name, typically a bad one, i.e. clearly people who have signed up to TripAdvisor because they have a beef with one establishment.
We booked our Europe holiday way back early Feb 2020 and fully paid since the tour was cancelled and finally after much delay Trip A Deal finally refunded the money deducting modest $250 dollars. We will of course book our holiday through Trip A Deal

I have been a customer of Tripadvisor for years and had a shocking experience in Melbourne. The operator didn't show up to pick me up because of a screw up with on Viator or the operator's end. I incurred $20 in uber fees and $15 in overseas call charges to ask what the heck was going on. I wasted a day. TA did refund the sum after I wrote in (it wasn't automatic) and offered a 25 voucher which was grossly inadequate Owner claimed after one day that his system had been hacked but later said Tripadvisor made a mistake.Apart from the waste of time and money, I received only 277 out of 300 due to exchange rate issues which I should not bear. so that's about 50 bucks I incurred due to Tripadvisor and the operator's screw up Why should i bear the cost for this scam/screw up?Viator blocked me on social media and failed provide a logical explanation for what happened. the vendor said he could find my booking, then one day later he said his system was hacked.

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
