I bought a train ticket through the app, and just two minutes after the purchase, the train was delayed by 30 minutes. When I requested a refund, Trenitalia withheld 20% of the original ticket price, presumably as a service fee.This company has been inefficient for at least the past 20 years. The quality of service has only declined, and now they penalize customers for delays that are clearly their own responsibility.Frankly, I hope AI eventually replaces 80% of Trenitalia’s workforce, including the ineffective managers.Once again, Italians have lived up to their Pulcinella reputation.

Destination was Rome-Fiumiciano airport, bought the tickets for me and my son, scanned the tickets, but in the train I received a fine of 50 eur, pljs had to pay the second time (they explained I pirchased the wrong ticket whoch had to be upgrdaded). Unfortunatelly charged full sum twice (totaly 8+14+50+14). Terrible, no explanation in ticket office as well.

What I witnessed today was nothing short of disgraceful. Over 200 passengers were left stranded on the platform, confused and exasperated, constantly moving back and forth between platforms 23 and 24 for hours, all due to an utter lack of communication and professionalism. The so-called staff provided nothing but evasive, vague answers. Each time we sought clarity, we were only met with more uncertainty. There were no updates, no apologies—just endless delays and a complete lack of concern for the people trying to reach their destinations. As a result, most of us missed our flights, all thanks to this absolute mess of incompetence. This train company should be utterly ashamed of themselves. They've not only ruined our plans and wasted our time, but also left us stranded without offering any explanation. Quite frankly, it’s clear they don’t care.We were forced to buy another plane ticket for €300. We will be pursuing legal action for this cost.But first, we demand a full refund for our train tickets. Like a lot of things in Rome this company will do all they can to scam tourists. This was my 4th trip to Rome but first with children. Purchased a child ticket from the machine, as instructed by the useless staff at the station who seemed annoyed to be assisting someone (she was far to busy checking out the massive cold sore on her lip in her iPad camera) got on the train, which was dirty and unkept, then when the ticket inspector came along I was informed I had the wrong children’s ticket dispute it being the only one available at the machine! 64 euro fine or I would have to deal with the police at the station so I had to pay! Scams on tourist like this company seem to run continue to ruin the reputation of Rome and Italy in general. Sham on you Trenitalia!

A pity I cannot put zero stars. Worst Italian company. I suggest you to never buy a single ticket. Rent a car. Trenitalia is ALWAYS late, and they tell you stupid excuses. Never buy a ticket with a connection. Customer service is horrible.

Searched for a train from Rome to the airport, booked and paid all fine. However, the app reversed my departure / arrival resulting in a €100 fine for not having a valid ticked + had to buy tickets for a second time.When I was able to recreate the error - despite submitting the correct ticket requirements - the ticket inspector just shrugged and said “not my problem”.So I’m fined and out of pocket through no fault of my own, because the app doesn’t work properly?!! I have screen recorded evidence of the bug, submitted a detail complaint demonstrating their incompetence, and they just ignore.

We got tickets from Trenitalia at Florence station and proceeded to the entry gate to catch the 08:05 train to Pisa. The staff at the gate checked our tickets and allowed us to proceed. After we boarded the train, a conductor came to check our tickets and informed us that we were required to validate them, and as a result, we had to pay a fine. Despite the fact that there was no sign of validation on the ticket and our purchase time was clearly stated, we were forced to pay. This is simple fraud. The person who controls should have informed us.

We had good experience of Trenitalia until today, when we had tickets from Taormina to Siracusa. The train was cancelled, but there were no announcements at the station. We were told by a cleaner that there were national strikes. We had to take a 300 euro taxi to Siracusa. Have tried to be compensated for the train ticket price, but the app refuses to any non-Italian address.

I recently travelled with Frecciarossa from Rome to Venice, covering a distance of 530 km in just 4 hours. The overall experience was very pleasant. The food in the restaurant car was delicious, with a selection of hot meals available. The seats in the Standard class were comfortable, and I appreciated the availability of USB ports for charging devices.The only downside was the price. The cheapest round-trip ticket cost €87.50, which seemed a bit high.Overall, it was a smooth and enjoyable journey. Thank you!

Bought 21 return tickets, one had the wrong name and they are unable to help me with a small name change. Also had to buy them in three sessions because the group booking system where i would also get a discount was not working. Paid more than we needed and they can apparantley not help with a name change on one ticket. Also the chat when on English language does not work, used the one in Italian language this worked. But no help to get unfortunately.

Ignorant arrogant staff. paid for first class everybody and litterly their dog in the cabin.No accountablity awful bunch of scum bags who on their complaints form have removed UK as a country as they must get so many complaints .A/C switched off so boiling in the booth. They obviously don’t care about their reputation as they per their very low ratings. What a buch of money grabbing bandits. My advice just pay for the extra flights .

TRENITALIA are not equipped with cameras to spot thieves stealing luggage/handbags!Though, they have staff to check your ticket to make sure you have paid!Shame! I had to go Cagliari airport and saw the ticket was only 1,30. You can't purchase tickets 5 minutes before departure, but I immediately went to the ticket inspector and showed him I wanted to purchase a ticket but was 30 seconds too late. I asked him if I could just buy a ticket from him. The train started moving and he then told me I had to pay 53 euros. He smirked at me and said: Cash or card? Disgusting. If I hadn't been honest and just sat down, he would probably not even have checked my ticket. Everyone that heard us told him to just let me pay the ticket (they politely asked him in Italian) but he just kept saying: these are the rules. Some people are truly horrible and take their job way too seriously..

This is the sh****est Railway company in the entire fuc***g world. They have unannounced strikes which they call Sciopero. I've been stuck in random ass towns because of these unwanted strikes. I'm not even mentioning the fuc**** delays. Don't ever expect to reach your destination on time with their IC (INTERCITY) trains.

I am travelling from Lamezia Terme to Naples with IC 724, on Saturday August 24thIn the first class the seating is comfortable, there is enough leg room and air conditioning system works very well. I am giving 3 stars to this experience and to Trenitalia because it is unacceptable that nobody came to check if we have a valid ticket to travel. A train assistant passed by 3 times without asking anything. This is crazy! The second aspect to improve is to communicate or include in the digital ticket via App the train composition to understand where to board on the platform. In Lamezia was the caos to understand which coach to board and where.

A very comfortable ride and remarkably good value for money. I don't often travel business class but enjoyed the little extras on this occasion

the worst trains i've ever travelled by, every information is last minute, and the tickets CHECKED IN AND VALIDATED DISSAPEARED we had an over 5 hour trip and suddenly the tickets are just gone and theyve told us to buy new ones. Terrible.

Booked 2 months in advance from domodossola to venice. Would have to change train in Milan. I booked it so that i had 1 hour to change trains in milan. The train left domodossola with a 97min delay which made me miss the train in Milan and i had to buy another one for more than twice the price than i had originally bought. Trying to get a refund has been a nightmare and even if i get it, it's gonna be for the train i missed which was cheap, when the real issue is the amount i had to pay for the train i actually took so i'll always end up losing money even if they give me a full refund for the missed train.Dont book in advance in italy. Book the train and then book the next one only when you already know you're gonna make it in time. It's gonna be more expensive but only compared to if things would have run flawlessly for you which doesnt seem very likely.

We cancelled our trip more than a month before the travel date, filled all the refund process (that is a little confusing and discouraging). We received today an email saying that there will be no refund because of a special offer the day we bought the tickets on the website. This company uses thug methods, shame on you Trenitalia !
