Tours of Romania was a definite must. Andrei was fabulous for communication. He got right back to me for information about the trip before went and any questions during the trip. Our guide Emil knew so much history! I took notes to go with the pictures. I loved the hotels in the old towns. You could walk around the towns after dinner and enjoy the surroundings. The plaaces we went were unique and terrific for taking pictures. There were a mixture of activities. Would recommend this for anyone. Loved the tour. We did a riverboat tour first from Budapest, I would recommend that as well so you see more of Esstern Europe. I was very happy

Our group of 17, employed Tours of Romania.com (Compass Tours) to arrange our 11 nights Romania & Bulgaria Tour Mid May 2018. Andrei responded quickly and precisely to our inquiry. The itinerary has been perfectly set up and all arrangements were as promised.Romania is a very beautiful country, clean and people are polite. Our tour guide in Romania, George is Fluent English speaking, nice, knowledgeable, and highly responsible gentleman. He took good care of us, most of us are of age 70. All of us thumb up to this tour and our guide George.

We truly enjoyed our wonderful 4 day Transylvania tour with Compass Travel. Setting up arrangements with Andrei by email worked out very well for us. The guide, George Buliga, was knowledgeable, educated, well-spoken, communicated well, and very well-versed in American English. We never felt rushed. George answered all our questions and we had some very interesting discussions. As history buffs, we also were happy that he could share his stories of living under the communists. We had traveled in Romania before this, but due to the bus and train situations we were not able to see Transylvania. This tour was better than we could have anticipated.

Tours of Romania far exceeded my expectations! The private guide and chauffuer Marcel was amazing. He spoke english very well. He was also very knowledgeable which made the tour that much more enjoyable. He went above and beyond! The people wherever we went was kind and welcoming! The home stay in Maramures was my personal favorite though I loved every where we went in Romania. We had a wonderful 13 days tour of Romania, Bulgaria and Macedonia during November 2018. Andrei selected the best tour that could fit in to our available timeline. Marcel was our tour guide for the longest part of the tour and his knowledge and experience can be described as remarkable. The tour was well planned and we kept to the planned program for each day. We received individual attention and made regular stops at places of interest or for lunch. The hotels can be described as well chosen and of a fair to excellent standard which included a substantial breakfast every morning. I enjoyed my trip to Romania last year. It was well organized and well coordinated. There were only five of us, plus the driver. We covered a lot of the country, mostly in Transylvania. Romania is not nearly as sinister or dark as most Americans are led to believe. In fact, accommodations were comfortable and we found most people to be welcoming and friendly. For me, the extension to and on the Danube Delta was a highlight. And food was good--and cheap by most Americans' standards. Though it was a long way to go from Chicago, I thought it was worth it.

We took the Transylvanian Encounter tour and our guide was Robert. The tour far exceeded our expectations. First, our guide--Robert was fun, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. We learned so much about the culture and history of the country from him and sharing experiences with him enriched our understanding. Second, the itinerary was excellent. We saw a variety of sights packed into four days. One highlight was definitely our home-hosted dinner, which was the best meal of our entire trip, which included a cruise!Third, the tour is excellent value for the money. We would love to go back to Romania and take a longer tour, and we wouldn't do it with anyone else but Tours of Romania!

We chose Compass Travel for our 11 days exploration of Romania. We had originally thought we would spend no more than a week, but upon communicating with the agency via e-mail, we decided we should go for the whole 11 day visit. This proved to be an excellent decision as it allowed us, with the help of our terrific guide, to discover the many facets of this wonderful country. The pacing was excellent, and the amount of free time perfect. George, our guide, had a deep knowledge of history and culture which he eagerly shared with us. His English was fluent and educated. We had studied quite a bit before visiting, but we learned so much. We were very impressed with the beauty, the people and the cuisine.

My husband and I went to Romania on 11 days private tour organized by Tours of Romania, and it exceeded our expectations. From the very beginning, it was a pleasure to work with Andrei Nikolau. He responded all emails promptly, patiently answered all my endless questions, and gave me a lot of great recommendations. There was not a single issue with out trip organization. Our guide Liviu was outstanding as well, and went above and beyond to make our trip special. We had such a good time, and loved Romania and Romanian people,

This was our first experience with an organized tour and we could not have been more pleased with the experience. The guides were knowledgable and personable (and adorable). The accomodations were very comfortable, the food was fantastic, and the scenery was often breathtaking. We are only sorry we didn't book the 12 day tour. My only advise to future tourists would be to temper your expectations about the 1st class overnight train ride and keep something with you to snack on. Overall, a trip of a lifetime and more than reasonably priced.

I have not traveld to Romania since 1972 , so the planing was important , Andrei took his time and was accommodating thru out. He met all our requests with ease . Christian was our guide and he was Excellent , as well accommodating thru out the trip . Me and my family can rate the Romania Trip as the best family trip we have taken . It all run like a clock with out any hitches . Recommended highly to anyone traveling to Romania and surrounding countries . Thank you very happy client .

The Romanian tour was like stepping back into ancient medieval times steeped in centuries of history and lore, but also very modern and European. We toured the Transylvania circle from Bucurest to Sinaia. Overnight accommondations were excellent and in the charming old fortresses of the cities. Our guide had a vast command of the Romanian history, the sites and did his upmost to help us understand the region and the culture. The tour style was very intimate and personalized, so much different than a large tour bus atmosphere. We also had time to explore each city and be part of the local scene. A very beautiful and relaxing experience.

Mom and I decided to go to Romania on a lark. I did some quick research and contacted several operators. Only Andrei responded rapidly and clearly. In just a few days he had planned a week of travel. He made sure to get the type of hotels I wanted. I am also a big foodie and he researched the best restaurants for us to visit. Everything went according to plan. He always made sure that we were on time and had the chance to enjoy the sights. I have travelled all over the world and his service was absolutely top-notch! I have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone looking to visit Romania!

An experience of note. Every moment of the tour was occupied with facts, figures, places ,sights, and the tour guide provided us an insight in the culture and nature of Romania .. What we saw will last in our memory forever.. Hotels and the choice thereof was ideal,, the places to see and experience were well chosen and all the places we needed to visit were paid for in advance so we had no concerns of extra outlay as is the want of other tours. We found Tours of Romania on the net not having heard of them before, and called the telephone number listed .We were a bit skeptical but after speaking with the most charming owner and describing what we would like to do-including a trip to Moldova- he said he would have a proposal for a custom trip . Within 48 hours a proposal was sent that included everything we wished to do along with some of his recommendations at a very fair price .Doing business by phone was a big plus. Everything that was promised was delivered without a hitch. We had a private car and driver/guide who was excellent, he was knowledgeable and charming yet gave us space. We couldn't have been more pleased with the experience and would highly recommend the company

Was great to have our own personal guide and translator. Dan was very helpful and knowledgeable of the country. He helped us find our daughter's birth mother, when all we had was her name and commune (county) name. The country is beautiful. Only disappointment was going to Peles Castle on the day it was closed.

We had a 10 day trip through the Carpathian Mountains and Transylvania. For those of you that think a trip to Romania is a visit to Dracula's castle, you are in for a great surprise. Romanis has a rich history and culture and our guide, Dan, was like having a ride along history professor. We will definitely come back.

A big thank you shout out to Andrei and his team for putting together an amazing see all tour of beautiful Romania and for finding a way to let us slip into Bulgaria as well. The tour guide was super friendly, helpful, fun, flexible and knowledgeable. We wanted to adopt him by the end of the trip! I traveled with my two teenage children and we all took turns selecting destinations, food and fun. We hit the beach, saw Transylvania, played ping pong deep underground in the amazing salt mines, saw the Carpathian mountains, visited churches, castles and other sacred places in history and always found our way to a dinner experience where mom could have a glass of wine ;). We were so well taken care of, felt safe, had a blast and lifelong laughs to look back on. Thank you Andrei and your wonderful group for an amazing, unforgettable and happy experience. We had a wonderful 4 days in Transylvania with Robert. We enjoyed everything about it- well, except for the stairs but that is unavoidable. Robert was funny, bright, and very knowledgable about his country. We especially enjoyed the time we spent with the Roma (gypsy), something I was a bit uncertain about- Victor and his wife made us welcome and we had a wonderful conversation about the history and future of the Roma. The car was comfortable, Robert was a great driver, the sites were very interesting, our hotels were all very nice and well located. And the price better than most. Would recommend with no reservations at all and hope to return for other adventures in Romania.
