Is toughmudder.co.uk Legit?

I registered for the Paris event, which they cancelled and offered a refund. I filled in the form to get the refund and never got it. I wrote numerous emails, and I’m still not getting my refund for an event they cancelled. They are a scam. I’m going to have to start a legal procedure against them.

I've been a Mudder for years, but that was messed up. I always thought the events were fun, if not a little overpriced for what you're getting - a run in the dirt with some challenging obstacles. The events have always been crowded, but that was okay because the staff preaches unity, comradery, team work, and integrity. All good things. I bought my tickets for 2025 early and started preparing, including gathering a team, who also purchased tickets. Five months later, Tough Mudder sends an email saying they're changing the event date. Okay, I say to myself. I can still make this work. It's not in their terms of service to do so (excluding event beyond their control), but whatever. A couple weeks later, another email. Event cancelled. No apology. No explanation. They throw out some BS "flex" tickets and say hit up another race three states away. No, thank you, give me a refund. It's not in you're terms of service to burn people like that, I say. They tell me to get lost and have stopped responding to my emails. It gets better. While I'm waiting, hoping for a positive response from this company that touts moral integrity like a Southern Baptist preacher, I keep getting force fed marketing emails. Join us! It's life changing! Be part of the family! Mudder Nation! Woohoo! It makes me sick. So much for integrity. Find another event. I've been to others that are better and are free. Whatever you do, don't trust these people to keep their word. They have none of the integrity they tell others to embrace. I hope they go under. I hope they get sued. Hiring a lawyer isn't worth the $125 I spent on the ticket (which I'm sure they're banking on), but maybe it would be to force these degenerates to listen.

Was ok but not worth the money if you pay full. The marketing is great and the quality of the gear at the end is really good. I did the 10 mile and I’d say only a handful are actually fairly difficult and a test of strength etc. the day we completed it was really muddy and you do find you just run a lot, eventually come to an obstacle and it was done super quick so your back to running again! They need more hydration stations and a better selection than just cheap Aldi energy shots. The end is the best bit when you actually hit the bigger more intense obstacles. Overall it’s worth about £50/60 max and it is a good laugh with a group.

parking was a farce- car park organisation was non existent - people missing the event as cars got bogged down for hours on end — if you cant sort the logistics because of the weather then cancel the event and refund.

FranceI bought a ticket for the race in Paris in november 2024 but changed my mind. According to the european Law, a person can ask for a refund during 14 days after buying something online.The French team never answered me despite my numerous emails. I am now starting a legal procedure to get my refund.

The event was cancelled and it has taken over 3 months to process the refunds/get us booked on to another event.

Very very expensive for an event run by volunteers. They Charge each person attending a parking fee whether you drive or not. They charge each person a bag drop fee whether you have a bag of not, and then they have the balls to charge for bad photos on top of everything else. $180 + per ticket . Very disappointing .

I took part in my first corporate Tough Mudder event at Belvoir Castle this year, the entire event was extremely well run from the booking process to crossing the finish line.I cannot wait to take part in another event soon.

A fantastic company that doesnt deserve its name to be dragged through the mud (pardon the pun). 1 star reviews are because people are bitter about losing money over covid. Welcome to the real world, where not everything can go your way. It is horrible, but it has affected everyone. Perhaps focus your efforts on doing good, rather than attempting to bring down a company, who will be struggling too.

I can't believe I paid as much as I did to do the 15k, only to discover that there were only 5 extra obstacles and the rest was all just tedious running to fill out the miles. The obstacles were also not particularly challenging or fun. Not sure why it's called Tough Mudder when there was so little mud! Also the Artic Enema stank of faeces. I really hope no one gets ill from whatever was causing it. And 3 water stations for an event that runs over the summer is just nuts. I'm so grateful that the weather wasn't as hot as it has been because I think a lot of people would have been taken down by dehydration. Overall, I won't be booking on again sadly. I've heard that there are better run events elsewhere so I'll be looking in to those. Not that this company seems to care about any of this, seeing as they don't reply to anything.

This is Barr Group's second corporate Tough Mudder and once again the Tough Mudder/ Spartan corporate sales team (Ed Thompson and Joyce Rosal) were incredibly helpful. We have had to make multiple changes to our booking - including changing our team leader, start time, participant number and race distance (twice!) - all by email. Each time they were efficient and cheerful, actioning our requests quickly and without issue. Thank you - we are looking forward to a very fun Sunday morning! Tough Mudder is a fantastic event and the staff do a wonderful job at making the day feel special. Ed and David do a great job at looking after our team and ensuring the event runs smoothly and everyone enjoys themselves. Joyce is also fantatic at sorting out the administrative side of our team and has been a last minute "life saver" on many occasions.

I recently completed the 10k South London Tough mudder - there was 9 of us in total, the event was well planned with great and challenging obstacles. Shout out to Ed Thompson from Spartan who helped us organise our corporate event - thank youMy only negative point would be that there was a few obstacles with big waiting times - maybe having a few more helpers on certain points in the course would help things move more efficiently.But overall great experience

Do you really think I’m going to pay £20 per person over the age of 12 to watch an event? You guys need to seriously rethink this! This is our son’s first event and from what I’ve now read it will be his last with Tough Mudder as there are other organisations out there with similar events that are not rip offs. We’ll drop him off and go somewhere else in the meantime rather than pay a spectator fee, extortionate parking fees, and high food prices.

Disgrace of a company - move venue & date of original race. Then move again (with no option of course because of covid-19) but do not offer any chance of refund, there's simply NO situation this company ever would consider refunding people's money.... Curses!!

I really enjoyed some of the track, some good obstacles, but... Arctic challenge reeked of faeces. And it stuck with you. Not sure if this was by design (which makes no sense, not proving anything to yourself or others like that) or if it was actual poo (which would be horrific and frankly incredibly unsanitary), It was 32 degrees yet there was 3 water stations which frankly seem irresponsible. There was no way to wash up after the event either, which considering the arctic enema problem. On top of this it's very pricey.

I see people saying they wont get their refund for months. but I'm flat out getting denied. They aren't even reading requests, if it says refund anywhere in the subject or body it triggers an auto reply rejection and closes the ticket. even though their covid update statement says they will honor refunds but it will take time to return the money.

Ed must be a pro at Tough Mudder because he navigated all of our obstacles with ease (no more cheesy puns, I promise). Thanks to Ed, registering our group for Tough Mudder was a breeze. From the moment I first connected with him, up through registration, Ed worked with our complex group through multiple changes, additions, and complications. I know he's working with many groups at a time but he really made us feel like his #1. Now bring on the Main Event.

Atrocious company now hiding behind US legals advice since take over by Spartan - bought two entries for myself and wife - they couldn't hold the vent...new event dates dont work for us, was originally told I would get a refund, then was contacted again 4 weeks later to say because I had given them my money early, I couldn't be refunded !....will be the last TM or Spartan I do and will be letting plenty of people to do the same - avoid

South west Tough mudder , I agree with the last reviewer , we went as spectators we paid £50 to spectator for 5 people , as previous we were only allowed to see about 4 obstacles, the spectator route was shockingly bad, we walked 7 miles only to see our team go over 4 obstacles and 3 of these were at the start or the end . Will not be spectator at this event again. We have have been at Northampton event where we managed to follow most of the route, Agree the food was exorbitant prices with 4 burgers costing £32 and Parkin £15. Total waste of money
