Is sovereign.org Legit?

Zero stars. Reading ALL the many many complaints of this appalling organisation really shouldn't they just be struck off the charity register. My own dealings span 6 years of misery 10 leaks 3 ceilings down and years of neglect from Sovereign. One of their "trusted contractors" Rockfords Removals in Isle of Wight actually pushed me when evicting a tenant. Dont buy their properties, dont get involved in shared ownership and their leaking shoddy new builds. The Sovereign staff hide in their ivory tower in Basingstoke and are beyond unhelpful. No direct phone lines of contact. Say anything to fob you off and hide behind their corporate hierarchy. Avoid. Avoid.

I've been a tenant in two properties over the last 16 years with Sovereign and to be honest think myself very lucky. As a housing provider, Sovererign are pretty astute in maintaining their properties and I for one am thankful that if a repair needs to be done , I am not paying for the priviledge of having a skilled tradesman sorting out the problem. Market rents are high, too high for people , single, one wage income to be able to afford, hence i consider myself to be lucky.

Again I’d give them a zero stars but unfortunately I cannot … so not only do they not fix the problems properly the first time ( not long had a leak because they again didn’t do it correctly first time ) now when your patio doors don’t open and are broke out of hours tells you “can’t live with what ifs” when you say so what happens if there’s a fire near my other door . Honestly this review will get another come back like the last one - and they’ll act like they want to help and they’ll do nothing just like the last complaint which I haven’t closed and they’ve not closed it so I take it that one has been put aside just like this one will Trades men coming out not fixing it properly first time Damaged my items Bosses stood in my home telling me they wouldn’t live how I was expected to yet telling me I should be grateful Anti social behaviour that’s got years worth of past history with last tenant and neighbours and I’ve to do all the leg work Sovereign pass it to police, police send it back … ico don’t want to know and there’s so much more Bottom line is pay your rent and deal with it should be another mantra of theirs

Housing property manager visits site agrees work need to be carried out. Contracts work to Westmead Ltd and makes home worse than before 2 weeks before Christmas. Project manager reduced my wife to tears and I had to ask contractors to leave site after a one week job turns into a 2 week job and still not finished.Now we have had to use money we don’t have to repair our home in time for Christmas at the cost of over £4000 because the work that has been done is leaking and things like bathroom sink held to wall with silicone, pipes connecting bath leaking as inadequate piping used, tiles not stuck on wall correctly and falling off. Absolute nightmare and the company has only offered £1400 for the inconvenience they have caused. Now I’m at the stage unless they pay for the repairs we have had to do ourselves and compensation for stress and loss of earnings. I will be heading to the housing ombudsman and the local MP for help. I have already explained after 7 years of leaks and flooding I am not prepared to have their teams fix the issues not one of their so called contractors who literally are cowboys.Totally amazed after 21 years of being a tenant they can treat us this way!!!

If 0 stars was an option, I'd pick it!I moved into a brand new build with Sovereign in September 2022. My dream house, in the village that I grew up in. You can only imagine my excitement when move in day came, however unfortunately since then, I have had nothing but issues with this company. Due to the poor prep of my garden, it floods every single time it rains. I contacted SNG about this 2 years ago, and I'm still waiting until this day for this to be sorted. The 'buildings insurance' they give you comes with an extortionate excess and covers basically nothing, but no policy wording has been sent, they advise a 10 working day turn around for replies however, every single time i contact them, I'm left waiting between a month and two months for a response. I am currently seeking legal action against this company due to them breaching Consumer Rights (reasonable time) so i hope this prompts a response, not to mention a whole list of other issues I've had with this company. I wish I never chose a Sovereign house and I don't reccomend them to anyone. As soon as you're in your house they dont care about you, unless its of course to raise your service charge that they dont even use! Save your money, time and mental health and avoid at all costs.

Do not care about their leaseholders, happy to take their money and constantly put up service charges in a house so not even sure what I am even paying these for? No contact made when you try and ask questions. If you are a shared owner you have to ask permission for everything when actual tenants of soverign seem to be able to do more to their property than us leaseholders! Shamble of a housing provider.

0 stars because We have a leak in our roof for the past ten years we have had sovereign out several times saying the leak has been resolved which it hasn’t as the damp mark is getting bigger every year and also we require new windows as the ones we have are 30 years old, cracked around the edges, mold growing on the edges and condensation in between the glass panes they drilled little holes in our windows to help the condensation but it’s now 1000 times worse yet other houses that are younger are getting new windows why aren’t older houses it makes no sense I would advise everyone to never have a house owned by these idiots.

I had a lot of plastering that needed doing Andy and Darren you were fantastic not only did you make me feel at ease but the way the work was done and how you guys interacted with my children was amazing!! I highly recommend these 2 men!! They was here for 4 days and always put a smile on my face very polite men too thank you so much again Andy and Darren (plaster men)

Electricity fuse board stopped working. Booked in as so called emergency 24 appt....can't use anything, can't cook, can't heat house, told sit in car as long as possible to charge phone, lucky I have a car then. Need to go to work..they don't seem to care about long term residents only about getting new houses built and money. Let people live in damp and don't worry about improving old homes for people. Increase rent on homes that aren't really up to standard. Housing associations are just about money and not to help vulnerable people at all. They actually don't care at all, it's all just lip service.

I genuinely believe Sovereign (trading as SNG) to be a criminal organisation. I am convinced this will come out one day. I see others suspect the same thing, you need to reach your own conclusion. There is nothing positive I can say about them.

Sovereign van fly tipped an enormous bag of rubbish outside my house yesterday afternoon. We don't even live in a housing association area and this guy was clocked removing the rubble bag from his van at the top of my drive and actually walked down my driveway to leave it outside my front door! It's a complete violation and trespassing on private property

I have had the plans drawn up for a new kitchen since 21/3/22, as my I am in dire need for a new one with several things wrong. I phone at least once a month to check on the progress. I have a cooker that is slowly breaking that is only a size 50 and don’t want to buy another one as normal sizes of cookers are size 60, but I only have room for a 50. In March 2024 I was told they were ordering the kitchen. Still nothing and no replies from anyone. This is all so depressing.The counter sides are all caving in where water has made them soft etc etc, other things wrong. I would have saved up by now to have things repaired myself, but they said I was having a new one.Every month I phone, a different person answers and says they will try to find out what’s happening, but I never get a reply. My husband is now going to get in touch with our local MP to try to get an answer. 😢😢😢

Issues with damp and mould in my friends property. This is affecting their breathing an mental health. They have had no help from this disgraceful association other than sending someone to look at the damp, take some photos and then do absolutely nothing about it. I have raised a complaint on their behalf and have the most ridiculous emails stating we’ll hear something in 10 day, but of course nothing is done.They do not care whatsoever for their tenants.I am completely disgusted!Do not go with these people, they’re only interested in the money they get, not the people they’re housing. If I could give less that 1* I would!

A bunch of thieves and fraudsters they always try to charge you much more than you should pay them. They offer you the worst quality of services after begging them to do the things they should do as landlords and they don’t take it as it’s their duty to do these things and keep their tenants happy safe and satisfied.It was that worst choice I have ever made moving to one of your properties.Stop thinking that you’re on the top of the people. God damn sovereign and the day I moved in into your miserable place.

The houses are built incredibly cheaply and with shoddy building work. Customer service is none existent. You can’t get through to any of the teams you need to speak too nor do you receive a response upon complaint. I am now being forced to go through the housing ombudsman and will need to seek legal advice regarding the detriment they’ve caused to my mental health

More expensive than market for ensuite roomRooms' ensuite have broken shower and sink tap, reported faulty and were not repaired despite multiple requests over SIXTY DAYS. Carpets are filthy with all sorts of stains, complained but response was, because it has a light color.Flat door had a hole instead of key lock, managed to access the room, coming from the road without using any keys

Third time within 7months our basement carpark flooded. They donot even have courtesy to arrange a team to clear the water. The water level is so high that it is going in the lift pit. They do not care about anything except money they get in service charge. All they are saying it is TNQ who deal with it. First we are being discriminated by TNQ and second SNG is doing nothing to fix the issue. Both companies lives doesn’t matter. For them emergency means a team will relpy in few working days if they happen to read through the email.

Call themselves a housing association what a load Called in today our central heating is stuck on 21 degrees and will not go any lower now using gas so have difficulty putting heating on In this time when gas and electricity is sky high been told they cannot fix it until January

Firstly, Allow dysfunctional tenants to keep the locked dogs in the garden without having access home. One is already whimping. Rubbish tenants don't get any consequences!!! I have already spoken to the Sovereign about it.Secondly, other type of asbo tenants can bring about whoever they want to live in Sovereign's propeties while asbo tenants are away. Nobody takes any control.

Been waiting for a roofing repair for over a year, had 5 plus visits booked. Always turn up with out part, now booked for 7 months time, even ask for my late partner who they have been made aware of, terrible service and horrible uncaring staff advisers, honestly one star is too many.No excuses will be good enough, heard them all.
