We came up with the 15.4 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to smith-newyork.com's industry. The algorithm flagged its seemingly suspicious success, even with a newly registered domain. It also detected high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Controversial. High-Risk. Unsafe. tags above. Long story short, we recommend staying away from this website. But let's explain in more detail.

While some are self-explanatory concerning smith-newyork.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between smith-newyork.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of smith-newyork.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of smith-newyork.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. smith-newyork.com is a suspicious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status

Do not buy from these frauds. Their advertisement is bs. They give hours for their showroom -there is no showroom. The show the owners- elderly Caucasian couple…they are not..the owners are Chinese. The pictures of products have little resemblance to the crap the send…
Total scam. They are in China, not New York. The coat was not even close to being the correct size. Return shipping was not worth it. PayPal rejected my claim saying what I got was not materially different from what I ordered. I have no idea how they determined this. One of the worst purchases I have ever made.
As all the reviews stated, the company is a scam selling substandard goods from China. Not a New York company but chinese. Never heard back from customer service. I disputed the charge with my cc company. I've learned my lesson. Check the reviews before you buy.
Totally a scam company by selling the worst quality products at supposedly bargain prices. Received a jacket that was marked down from $350.00 to $55.00. Just received it and it was made of plastic and fake material. Shipping it back to China is more costly than your funds returned. Someone has make public their scam on Facebook and Instagram.
Received jacket January 2, 2025 and immediately wrote to return. Was told the next day January 3rd that it was too late. Ripped off for $49.95
Total scam. Product very poor quality, nothing like the picture. Cost of return to China is more than the product - and I doubt they would refund anyway. Opened up as Taylor Classic
The photo of the jacket looked good. The ad said it was marked down from $250 to $50. “Final Sale!” Red flag? Of course but I bit. The jacket looked and felt cheap in every way. And they sent the wrong size. They said I could ship it back at my expense (to China) or take a 5% credit—$2.50. I took (and received) the credit. Don’t buy from Smith-China York.
THEY ARE A CHINESE SCAM!!! THE US GOVERNMENT SHOULD SHUT DOWN ACCESS TO THIS COMPANY IN THE USA> INSTAGRAM SHOULD SHUT DOWN THESE CHINESE SCAM COMPANIES> EVERYONE SHOULD ALSO FILE A US BETTER BUSINESS BUEARAU COMPLAINT AGAINST THEM SO WE CAN SHUT THESE CHINESE FAKERS SCAM ARTISTS DOWN> THEY HAVE NO RIGHT SELLING STUFF IN THE USA> THEY SHOULD JUST SELL THIER STUFF TO THEIR OWN BILLION CHINESE PEOPLE IF THEY WANT TO SCAM SOMEONE. DOWN WITH CHINA!!!!DO NOT BUY CHINESE GOODS!
Not cashmere, no product labels inside. Most likely cheap polyester. Not worth returning.
Do not be misled by this company. They use false advertising to lure customers into buying sub-standard garments. I ordered a cashmere sweater and received a garment that was not cashmere but one that feIt felt like burlap. When the customer wants to return an item, the return shipping and custom’s fees are so high that it is not worth returning the item. Buyer beware!
Chinese drop-ship scam. Posing as a going-out-of-business New York City clothing store, complete with stock photo of senior white American couple on a Long Island beach, the supposed owners who are retiring and closing the store. This a China-based operation, with a fake American front. The clothes aren't worth half of the 80% discounted price. Complete crap, not even matching the photos of the clothes, materials off, colors off, details off. Return policy is fake, since practically impossible. Asked for return form and address. First response asks for extensive photos and 'evidence', next response, about two weeks later, includes the return address in China and a reminder that the return has to be processed within 30 days of delivery. In the return instructions, SNY points out that between shipping cost and shipping time, the return is so onerous that most customers opt for a further 5% discount instead. The business is organized to avoid returns at all cost.
Don’t be fooled. This is a complete sham and the product is absolute junk. Their marketing is BS and AI generated and the theme is a complete lie.Since it will cost $66 to return this $2 item to “Our Warehouse” in Guangzhou China, instead I will cut it up into strips and use it to wipe my ass. It has the same value as Toilet Tissue.
Not a new york company, did not ship with UPS as claimed and item was much poorer quality than pictured on the website. The “deal” i got- i clearly overpaid for this item.
Like one of the other reviewers, I also bought a sweater (before I'd read the reviews). First, I learned the company is in China (not New York.) There's no option available for canceling (as there is with most reputable companies) I tried to cancel the order the same day via email and, after a couple days, received a response that it was not possible because it was being prepared for shipment. The sweater arrived and it was poorly-made and cheap looking. It's now among my workout clothes.
There is nothing true or trustworthy about this company. I generally research unknown vendors but was totally suckered by the slick website, the name and the backstory of an old trusted store going out of business. Total fiction. The product is cheap Chinese crap. The garment is very cheap material and construction. Even on "sale" it is vastly overpriced. I had followed a Facebook ad which I have since reported and have subsequently been told by Facebook they found no issue and will continue the ads. None of these companies have any shame.
I bought what I would call a 'shabby chic' jacket/blazer from these people. The Dylan. It looked soooo good in the photo. It arrived, and showed itself to be made from the crappiest-of-the-crappiest materials imaginable. The only way it could have been less desirable is if it were made from old newspapers upon which hobo sex had been engaged.NO amount of money . . not one near-worthless cent, could this "garment" (fish wrapping) be worth.Requests for a refund have gone unanswered.Let the buyer beware.
Received 2 orders weeks later, from China, despite warehouse in NYC claim. One jacket seems like it might be functional, but cheap. Other jacket is cheap junk and the sweater just has print designs rather than the website appearance of various knitting styles (cable knit, etc.). Rip off.
I ordered two of the same item. Both items Dylan Vintage Jacket are a beautiful design, but the materials are low quality. They seem Halloween costumes. The company was very responsive with an offer of 5% back or return the shipment to China for about the cost of the order. I am disappointed that I fell for the scam of an actual New York clothier closing their business.
Purchased 2 sweaters, they are cheap and flimsy. Filled out the return form and sent back to China a month ago, still waiting for refund. They have no phone number and the emails I sent keep coming back..Do not buy from them! I also had to pay $30. To send them back. Someone should look into this fraud company.
This company is fraud, they ship directly from China; item I purchased as "cashmere sweater" has nothing to do with cashmere, extremely poor quality and unpleasant synthetics material. When I tried to return it, they only respond to my third request with instructions to ship item to China, value it for 2-3$ to avoid custom fees, and pay 20-30$ for shipment. Such companies should be banned in US. DO NOT BUY!
