I like the various designs they provided me with Ellie was a amazing project manager not to mention how fast they were with communication highly recommended if you want some yard work done I wanted to add photos to show my final design but I don't think you can on here either way thanks guys you are awesome!
ShrubHub has created 2 residential backyard designs for me. I find their work to be both high quality and inspiring. Good value as well. Empowered me to make better and more confident decisions about these investments.
I got my design last week it was well worth the wait my wife is super happy with the final draft I have gotten in touch with some of their contractors to stop by this week awesome job guys thanks!
Alex Smith was great to work with and was able to help me finalize/improve a full backyard renovation design. She accommodated my needs and her renderings turned out better than I could have expected. I would definitely use her services again.
I had a very positive consultation call with my designer, Nina. She listened to my ideas and design goals for the area in my yard we wanted to landscape. They explained their process and, although they offered many up-sale services, were pleasant about me declining everything but the primary package purchased. Nina and Adrian completed an excellent design on time, incorporating all our discussed items. It was a very positive experience.
I was pretty disappointed in this process. While they did give me 2 revisions from the initial design, it just did not hit the mark. Scale seemed to be ignored, and when I finally got to the plant consultation, I mentioned I did not like any of the plants, but did want evergreens, but no juniper, the revision came back with replacing the pine trees with deciduous, and junipers with perennials. The exact thing I said I didn’t want, because my goal was winter interest. I could have bought a decent size tree for this consult. Now I feel I’m at square one.
I spent a lot of time uoading photos of the entire site and providing input on design requests including preferences on shrubs etc .. I got back a design that put an outdoor kitchen on top of steps leading out of the house and a bar looking into the kitchen instead of the view of the pool !!! Don't waste your money !! When I contacted them about correcting their errors they said they would need more money ! What's scam.
In some weird auto-fill glitch, the shipping address was updated to a completely different state, despite the street address being correct. When I reached out about the issue, they said it was already en route and couldn't be rerouted. FedEx said differently when I talked with them. When I followed up with Shrubhub, they said the plants wouldn't handle the rerouting and "Apologies for the inconvenience" ... that's it. $170 order and less than zero effort to get it right.
I had a very satisfactory experience using ShrubHub. I uploaded the requested photos of my yard along with pictures of plants and trees I preferred. I also provided my ideas for the design itself showing the type of stone with grass checker board pattern I wanted and a center focus Japanese maple with water feature. All the items I stated were important were incorporated in the rendering and then they added additional suggestions that looked very attractive. I just wanted a good enough plan that a landscape installer could follow the design and create what I was looking and they did that. For the cost, it was money well spent.
Good experience, very easy communication and process for getting a backyard design. I did get my first design but needed adjustments which I received after only a week or so. Second design was right on point with what I needed. Not all material is perfect in the design but it’s a good representation of what my backyard can look like. Now I can change material to meet my needs. Overall for $500 it’s worth the experience. I would pay more than that though. Nina was very nice and helpful with quick responses.
Super scammy. Phone consultation went over everything I had already told them in the questionnaire- certainly not value additive. Then I was told I would have to pay extra given the size of my yard- which was something that I could have been easily informed of up front (and probably would have paid had they been transparent). I cancelled immediately.
Be aware that they are really good at upselling! Still worth the money if you spend some time to understand what you are buying. The first version of the design was excellent, good ideas were incorporated and it was visually appealing. I went through 3 iterations to get what I needed but I knew the first try won't be perfect so I bought unlimited changes during 1 month.
had them do a basic design provided them plans and full photo documentation as requested. took several weeks they asked for more money and then what was provided was useless. furthermore it was not even buildable as there was no consideration the the topography of the yard. It was a nice thought but to good to be true.
Shrubhub is everything as advertised! Absolutely the best investment I have made for design services by far. Saved me thousands of dollars in design fees. Every design suggestion I made was captured and I was able to make multiple design changes until the design was exactly what I wanted. No hassles. No issues. And the drawings are absolutely beautiful. The 3D stuff is amazing. When I shared my backyard design with family they were astonished. Can't wait to get it built.
Purchased "3d Design Package - Back Yard" ($237) then upsold "30 Day Design Revisions" ($87) and "2D Satellite Design" ($77). During initial design consultation, I was informed I would need to ugprade to their "VIP 3D Design Package" due to the size of my back yard. Not only was this not clearly disclosed before purchase, but I was only asking for a small portion of the yard to be designed!It became clear to me that ShrubHub was just looking for opportunities to upsell, so I asked for a full refund since I was within the 30 day window for that. They said someone would have to call me back and I've been getting the run around today via email and chat trying to get a manager approval for what should be a simple task. Check the number of complaints at the Better Business Bureau -- do yourself a favor and steer clear of ShrubHub!I came to find out that ShrubHub is just "a communications platform for enabling connections between Users and Designers". In other words, they are just outsourcing your project! Quote: "ShrubHub does not have control over the quality, timing, legality, failure to provide, or any other aspect whatsoever of any work provided by Designers, nor of the integrity, responsibility or any of the actions or omissions..."
I found this app right after I signed up for Shrubhub and agree with previous comments. The 3D diagram is accurate to the dimensions I gave them but did not follow my description at all. The “30 day free consultation” really means it’s a window to upsell you other services. Asking questions about shrubs, wanting a revision are all added charges. Going to my local nursery should have been my first and only action needed.
To anyone considering hiring this company, I would consider other companies. Yes, they make beautiful renderings however, in their contract, they promise to give you links to the furniture you can buy that fits in your area. This did not happen and after many many months of going in circles, they came back with furniture that won’t fit in my backyard. They certainly don’t care about the end result and only want to provide a pretty rendering. Save your money!
I worked with Helen from Shrubhub and would recommend her work. She did incorporate all my inputs and I was very happy when she was able to work on some of the minor follow-ups that I had.4 (and not 5) stars only for how SH packages aren't super transparent with the pricing upfront.
I got exactly what I was expecting- a great plan to use for our newly built house that does not have any landscape. Eve was great to work with and made sure all the items I requested were included. I am doing a few revisions- but they are very minor. A great experience!

I had placed an order for Shrub Hub to send me plans for completing the landscaping of my front yard and my backyard. I paid $129.75. A few days later they sent us an email saying that a consultation had been scheduled and someone would be calling us. We spoke to a representative a few days later who very quickly explained that we needed to fill out all kinds of information on the website and when that was completed we would get our plans. We completed all the information and we never got our plans. We tried calling them and got someone to answer, after being put on hold, and he pretended that their connection is bad and he couldn't hear us. I've gotten no response from their chat feature online nor email. Stay away. SCAM.
