Our mortgage was recently bought out by Shellpoint. Payments thru them started 6/1/24. We immediately had 2 house payments removed from checking along with a $20.00 wire service fee. They refunded one of the housepayments but not the wire service fee. We had nothing to do with wire service fee. Our homeowners insurance was due 7/1/24. Shellpoint has it as 10/1/24. It hasn't been paid yet. Called twice. Was on hold for 45 minutes & then opted for the "call back". Never got a call back. Just logged into Shellpoint to review my previous e-mails that I sent & to re-read previous e-mailed received from them. Nothing in the mailbox (outgoing or incoming) Maybe their website is DOWN again???????
They were going to foreclose on my home like thieves in the night! They bought my loan. But Sent these letters that only had Livonia mi. I just happened to bring my mortgage current. Before 7/4/24. At which point they would have foreclosed on my home. It wasn't until I opened one of those unidentified letters that I found out I had only days to save my home. Predator is to kind a word to describe thier behavior.
They increased our payment by over $1,000/month by placing insurance we don't need. They've done this several times over the last few years even though we've sent them our insurance that they requested. They often call to collect the wrong amount even though I've disputed it. Shellpoint and Newrez have wasted a lot of my time. Stay away if you can.
Our loan was taken over one month before we sold it by new rez shell point mtg co. Our loan closed 7/2. Money wired on 7/3 loan closed. On 7/5 new rez shell point took $2054.00 dollars out of our account and bounced our account. Lied about when we could receive reimbursement. Lied and said I signed an agreement which I did not such thing and still refuses to reimburse us for the money they took that we do not owe. Not to mention still have not sent the remainder of our escrow account. Monday they told me I would have all of my money deposited today Thursday. Today it’s 17-30 days and more excuses. In this economy this has made even buying groceries this month very very difficult. They owe us over $5000.00 just another heartless ugly corporation preying on their customers. Bad reviews.
Terrible service, If I could give a 0 rating I would. They make it impossible to make monthly payments - all sorts of technical issues on their website and talking to a person is impossible. U r contineously redirected to one bot after another.
Shellpoint Mortgage (NewRez) is sorely lacking in customer service training. I get a different process to follow each time I call. I’m trying to resolve an important issue and they have been utterly incompetent. The agent put me on hold for over 15 minutes this afternoon and then hung up while I was on hold. I presume it was because she didn’t know how to answer my question. When interest rates drop, I’m divorcing NewRez.
The worst company ever!!! My mother died 8 months ago and her mortgage has not been paid. I finally have a buyer for her home and I have sent all paperwork in to prove I am the executor. I have been calling everyday for the past week with no success. Everyone promises a payoff thru email or at least a call back and nothing happens. The sad thing is these are promises made from Supervisors. You would think they want their money but the employees could care less!!! At this point I am ready to just let the house go into foreclose!!!!!!

Would never suggest this company. Communication is terrible. Every agent has something different to say which leads to miscommunication. They take notes but the caller don't review it before calling. Son fell behind on Loan. I called to pay $10,000 they refused to accept it because it was $11,100. Didn't choose this vompany. Loan was sold to Shellpoint. This will never get paid off unless paid in full. My question is Why refuse any payments? Do you want people to lose their property?
Worst company EVER!! They are a bunch of liars with the WORST customer service. I wish I could give them a ZERO. One star is too generous. They say one thing and do another. I don't trust them and watch my account closely. I HATE my loan was transferred to them. I'm working desperately to find another company and GET AWAY FROM SHADY SHELLPOINT! How Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing continues to operate with so many issues is beyond me. Since my mortgage was transferred from SLS to Shellpoint/Newrez, my previous historical documents have been inaccessible. A representative assured me over a month ago that I would see these documents "soon," but I am still waiting. Additionally, the website frequently freezes when I attempt to make a payment online. If you can avoid Shellpoint, I highly recommend doing so.
It has now been a week, after Bank Of America provided documentation of payment receipt in MAY. I have paid the late fee, paid the July mortgage, AND paid the August mortgage (as the May payment should be applied at some point) - and yet, I am sure that I will not have the account updated during that 60 day window.SHELLPOINT is a COLLECTION agency, they are not a MORTGAGE company, and their approach is entirely geared around excess fees, or the opportunity to press foreclosure when possible. I maintain a credit score between 750 and 800, and Shellpoint is nothing but a financial liability and another dark stain in the mortgage industry
So SLS is now Shellpoint. Nice shiny new name, same old sorry customer service they've been given since my mortgage was sold to them in 2019. I've had nothing but problems out of this company. You can't find anyone there who is helpful or knows anything. Their message about rebranding and better service falls flat. The first thing they did was stop accepting weekly drafts from my bank account. Their website does not work for setting up a new payment method (bi-weekly). I called to set up payments during working hours and voicemail said they were closed. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it still stinks! Changing a name does nothing!
This company acquired my mortgage lender. Since then, they have blocked my account from making online payments and they have failed to provide my most recent statement as they are legally required to do. I'll update this review with my complaint number for the BBB as well as the Ohio Attorney General's office.
Worse Mortgage Company, They lied and every time you call you get a different story. This business should be held responsible for their actions and shouldn't be allowed to get away with such behavior.

I just got off the phone with two agents, because Shellpoint took 3 mortgage payments out of my account within two days and did not return the two they took out nor did they notify me of the error! It wasn't until I was about to write a check (I know I'm old school) and decided to check my account and I was almost in the red from them taking 2 extra payments from my account. I asked them why didn't they send out a mass email or phone call alerting customers of this so called "black out" period, the answer was 'crickets' and I'm sorry. Cary seemed like the only one who was able to assist me, but why do I have to email you a copy showing that YOU took out MY money? They know they took it, so put my money back! Oh yes, the BBB will hear about this. If there were "0" stars that's what they'd get!
I am the executor of my mother’s estate I informed shellpoint of her death and I am also the one who has been paying her mortgage. I sent all the documents that was asked for twice. Every time I call they are telling me 7 to 10 days before I can be added to her account. When I called on May 31, 2024,I was informed by a manager that it will take up to 30 days for a review to see if I can be added to her account. I am trying to sell the home and get a paid off, in which they are being a hindrance so they can continue to collect that high interest. They are ok with taking my money but not documentation to add me as user. Everyone needs to stay away from this unprofessional bank. They did not deserve a one star rating.
I have a mortgage with Shellpoint Mortgage Newrez. They have many forebeafance plans to assist home owners (customers). My account rep Erica Dawson has always gone above and beyond to help with any issue I’ve had. They communicate effectively and efficiently.
Run!!! Unprofessional, rude and not helpful at all. I actually had one loan officer that was having a conversation with a coworker while I was trying to get financing information.I will pay more refinancing fees and get a mortgage from another company simply so this company doesn't get my hard earned money. Court Case 2022 CV 00931 Stark County Court not only ignored the laws provided only seem to manipulate them to try to steal my property with the help of all involved ,including Beach City Police, HUD, Shellpoint Mortgage Group, Dan Law, Stark County Court System, Akron Canton F.B.I., ABN AMRO MORTGAGE GROUP, as well as others as my documents will show. I believe that I am a victim of a on going crime regarding the foreclosure actions that was on property that I own, and believe there was substantial \"SECURITIES FRAUD\" fraud as well as other crimes. I have discovered that there was what appears to be a \"COUNTERFEIT \" (copy) of the Mortgage Note presented as proof of claim by a certain group of people, including but not limited to agents of the Mortgage Company. I believe there is a conspiracy to take my property unlawfully through foreclosure using (COUNTERFEIT SECURITIES)as evidence and believe there multiple individuals in this crime including those above .I had made demands that the individuals involved provide proof of their claim through the presentation for my inspection of the \"ORIGINAL\" documents signed at closing ,they refused to do so and instead have only made a \"COPY\" of the documents allegedly signed at closing for my inspection, these copies are in fact ( COUNTERFEIT SECURITIES) as described under 18 U.S.C. -474 and multiple others have been or are currently in possession of multiple copies of said (COUNTERFEIT SECURITIES) .I believe the \"ORIGINAL \"wet ink signature documents (SECURITIES) have been bundled and sold for profit and are not able to be produced as required by law and this is fraud that was committed to steal my property through the counterfeiting of (SECURITIES) as provided documents will show and this does not meet the requirements under 18 U.S.C.-474 as a (COPY) and therefore a (COUNTERFEIT SECURITIE) presented as evidence to attempt to defraud me .I also believe that this activity accrued through communications across state lines and falls under \"RICO\" statute violations as a result. Accompanying this letter and attachments is much more comprehensive information with substantial legal citations explaining my concerns which seems to not be a isolated situation and I am not by any means the only victim of this kind of fraud.
