I am so disappointed in rural king..and how stupid they are ...I ordered a birthday gift on the 9 th of October...by the 23 I still hadn't got an email telling me item was shipping..I called canceled my order told them to return my money to a gift card ...they had moved my item to 3 different warehouses. My money is still not returned...don't shop with them!!!
Rural King (Huber Heights) is the PITS !! Check out cashier is rude, arrogant and nasty. I attempted to return 3 (5W30) quarts of oil and the cashier yells that one quart of oil has been opened. She proceeded to insist that the oil had been used which was totally false. I politely requested to speak with Store Manager who readily accepted the return since 2 quarts were never opened and the seal was unbroken.
When you walk in the store they have clearance and sale items at your reach. My husband like your popcorn(free). You had a big bag next to the free popcorn for $3.99 and he brought his big bag.
This is totally different from your other complaints, but I raise and sell bunnies to local rural King. I call and ask if they need any today since they haven't any in the store and was told since they're not broken color they don't want them. I would give them zero stars if possible, constantly selling things online when they have zero in stock to sell to begin with. Over hour hold times just to get a RUDE cust service rep, then they blame all of their terrible business practices on their "suppliers". I talked to a customer service rep, a super and a manager and all 3 were extremely unhelpful and RUDE!

Their online ordering system (through their website) is a complete and total dysfunctional disgrace. Kept on adding my address and credit card info over and over again, only to receive error messages saying that I havent selected a billing address at least 5 times. I bought 6 Buff Brahma chicks Saturday May 6, 2023. 2 died on Sunday May 7, another died on Monday May 8. I have not contacted Rural King today. I'll update my review after I call tomorrow. I have shopped here before & was very pleased, which is why I came back as a repeat customer. This was my first time buying livestock.
I was at Rural King today, we had a few things to pick up. I went back to look at the ducks wanted to buy a few. But when I saw the condition they were in I decided not to buy. No water, dirty cages and some looked to be almost dead. I did however speak to an associate and asked her to get someone to take care of them, She said she would get a Manger. I never once heard her call for anyone. I went back to where the ducks were and stayed around nobody showed up. I wanted to turn you all in for cruelty to those animals I still wish I would have.
We don't go to Rural King a lot because of distance. We buy a lot of Feed for our dogs cats chickens every week. Prices seemed good there workers were nice. Seems workers at these type of stores are friendly. Got Sportmix dog food to try for our dogs they love it. Chickens like the feed and scratch grains.
As far a the store goes i love it. But if have one of the credit cards and try to find out about your rewards the custom service is not good at all. You will get the run around all day. they will send you to another department that will then forward to another department and then back around the block again. we have spent a few days now and still havent gotten good results.

“Terrible customer service”

I'll join the 1 star crowd. Last night, 12/2/24, I filled an online cart with various items, then tried unsuccessfully for an hour to complete the purchase. I chose PayPal which wouldn't work, then my Visa card which didn't work either. I use both for years, never a problem anywhere...except Rural (King?). A chat box appeared so I tried that only to get a message I would receive an email and call which I never got. So this morning, 12/3/24, I tried their customer service number. What a joke! I was on hold 38 minutes before giving up. I had the same experience others had which is why their reviews are so bad. I called or closest store, 90 miles away, no manager but after 12 minutes got to speak to an assistant manager who said she "cringes with calls about online ordering" from so many problems. I tried corporate in Illinois which was lots of dead ends, never getting to speak to anyone. Out of exasperation I emailed RK asking to close my account and remove me from mailing list. RK has a good variety of merchandise and good prices. If they fixed their online site and ordering problems as well as answering their customer service phone calls we would consider returning. All RK corporate needs to do is check out Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, Tractor Supply or any retailer to see how well their customer service is. RK is the absolute WORST! Applied for new credit card was approved same day. Tried to purchase a 5 foot tiller online was unable. Called store thinking they could or would help! Ha! “Order Online Pick Up”

Made an online order for pick up at 9am and at 6pm my boyfriend came to pick it up. Not ready and they took forever to even find the order number. A special needs boy was at the counter and was treated poorly by two employees in front of my boyfriend. They ended up not have things on my order and had to cancel and redo the order twice. Please go elsewhere for purchases. I ordered a swing for my grandson and was never notified if it shipped. Called Customer Service and they said my order was flagged as fraud. Ordered a sprayer + weed control. They cancelled the order because sprayer not available and immediately shipped weed control for $38 shipping cost. The managers of the store are on top of things I sent an email about some pants I was trying to return for a different size but they never had my size received a call within 10 minutes. They offered to exchange my jeans even for a more expensive pair. I declined because I like the pants that I bought so they are ordering them and going to have them at the store for me to pick up. After two weeks of waiting for shipping information on some firewood I ordered I called to check the status and was told it was placed on hold for verification, I was told if I hadn't called I would have never been informed! I realize I had the best customer service on Sunday than I ever had before. I think his name is Larick. I hope I spelled his name right. He has an extremely unique name, and personality. All I have to say about him is he's phenomenal and helping me discover things around the store. He even went out of his way to help my husband get something outside in the cold weather. “Poor customer service on returns”

Purchased a Champion generator from Cape Girardeau store in December of 2023. Tried to start in Jan and would not start. Tried to return to the store and they refused to take it back. They said it was their policy. The problem with that is their policy is not displayed where the product is in the store. The assistant mgr also told me it is stated on the back of the receipt. “Uninformed Employees”

My two complaints are as follows: I've ordered a couple things from Rural King and have found that the people who take the calls for product information are quite clueless when it comes to the products they sale. It seems as if you have a question about a product you better do your own research because they can't really do much more than tell you if it is in stock or not...even that isn't a for sure thing with these people. I just got an email saying that they no longer ship anything at all to California. I thought it must have been a mistake so I called and was told that in fact the 40,000,000 customers (potential or established) in California can order from other companies but that they in fact no longer ship anything to the state of California! Not only are they a company of uninformed, under performing employees but it seems that the management is somewhere between "really dumb" and "totally stupid"! That's ok, we have lots of other online choices.

“Best customer service is in the world.”

I stop at Rural King any time I am within 50 miles of one of their stores. We were recently at Rural King in another state that we were visiting. We purchased a couple of the summer sausages. They are amazing. When we returned home one of them had some mold on the inside. The vacuum packaging had not sealed correctly. I contacted Rural King through their website and asked what we could do about it. Less than an hour later Rural King called me and pleasantly asked for a little more information. When they found out the entire story, they apologized for the inconvenience and asked for my address since there is not a store anywhere close to me. They then rush shipped me a new one and another surprise was in the package for the inconvenience it caused me. If all retail stores were like Rural King the world of shopping would be a much better place. Thank you Rural King for being amazing at what you do.

I purchased "Heavy Duty" tomato cages from Rural King. I received the cages in a fairly timely manner. These cages were anything but heavy duty, they were so flimsy that two of them were broken when I received them. Unfortunately I decided to keep them because my plants were already in the ground. I filed a complaint with RK customer service, at this point it has been two weeks and I have yet to receive a response. This was my first and last experience with RK. I went to our new Rural King today in Georgetown Kentucky, and I won't be back. I counted eighteen customers and two employees with no mask, and I didn't see any encouragement to keep social distance. This store didn't even open until the pandemic began, so there is zero excuse for your lazy response. People on ventilators and in coffins don't buy farm supply, guys. Wise up.

“Worst place to get a credit on a back order 7 months”

I have tried many times to get a refund on a tractor sunshade that I have never seen and paid in full when I ordered it told me it was already credited to my loan. But they told me 6 different dates and no proof as yet and loan company has never heard from them either. It has been 7 months so far

Purchased screwdriver sets marked "on sale" check out time and rang up regular price! “Amateur hour at Rural King gun counter”

Placed order based solely on price. Rural King has no systems in place to track or confirm your order is ready for pick up. This lasted over a 28 day period. My order was at the store for over 7 days, but they didn't know that. Corporate customer service was no help. I had to dispute purchase with my credit card company to get money back. They still got away with charging me shipping on an item I would still be waiting for if left up to them. Check other sources, a local sporting goods store matched the price and I had my item in less then 45 minutes.

“Doesn't ever have anything in stock just takes your money.”

This is the worst website ever. They advertise very low prices to draw traffic. Then they take your money for an item they don't ever have because this has happened to me 3 times.
