Is rspca.org.uk Legit?

I have just called your 24hr animal cruelty helpline because there is a dog trapped outside in this freezing weather & the poor thing has been barking & crying for hours. your automated system tells me to call back at 8am. I have phoned the police 101 number twice, the local council & an out of hours veterinary surgery but can't find anyone to help this poor dog! I am absolutely livid.

To RSPCA : you are absolutely appalling people every single one of you vindictive nasty, down low pathetic bastard's what you have done to my family is worse than being tortured by satin. I'm going public to shut your pathetic Nasty animal and human torturing business down. Because all you have done to my family is murder. To the lovely people in society DO NOT PAY THE RSPCA IN CHARITY OR THEIR PRODUCTS because with that money they ruined my life and many other kind people's lives. Please reasurch the bad side of the RSPCA.

Absolutely useless! As a dog is kept on a farm on a short chain with limited movements as a result it literally lives on a pile of horse manure!. It's dirty, neglected, stinky, and cold. I've been trying to sort out some help for it since August this year and I've been fobbed off by them telling me to contact the local council. The people from the council refused any help saying that it was not in the capacity. I just rang them again, sent the pictures, and was told for numerous time that is not a crime to keep a dog in the dirt. Yes, it is neglect! as the dog is jeopardized to all sorts of diseases that might result in its death. You have this poor pooch on your conscience!

Amazing organisation! So pleased that we have a charity like the RSPCA in the UK. I recently came across a very young deer that had been hit and left in the middle of the road. Its injuries were horrific. After a few unsuccessful attempts by myself and another person to try and suffocate this poor young deer to end her suffering ( I’ve since learnt that it’s almost impossible to suffocate a deer) the RSPCA turned up and ended the suffering. I was so grateful to him. It was a truly awful thing to witness seeing this beautiful creature coming to such a brutal ending due to being hit by a callous, speeding driver. My friend, who’s a vet nurse told me that the RSPCA receive such a lot of flack from the general public which I find staggering. Upon hearing this then prompted me to write this review to sing their virtues. We are so lucky and privileged to have a charity such as the RSPCA in this country, they should be applauded and appreciated by all. They do an amazing job!

They don't do anything these days, after asking lots of questions tell you to contact the police, not fit for purpose

The UK supposed to be an animals lovers country, but nothing I see around telling me this is the case. The RSPCA should be the leader, taking positive steps in helping animals but they seem to be, not a charity, but a money making company, they even pay the RCVS.Do you know we have no ombudsman for animals! Just lots of expensive adverts to donate to companies who refuse to help when an animal is in danger and injured. Shame!I am an elderly pensioner and even received a text from the RSPCA asking me to leave my home when I die to the RSPCA! If the RSPCA has no money how can they afford so much adverts?

A dog living outside with just a crappy open ended cardboard box for 'shelter' was reported repeatedly by several people yet they said there was nothing they could do, the six month old German Shepherd was freezing cold and wet with no love or proper food yet they wouldn't 'prevent' this cruelty, it took the neighbours to organise a protest to get the dog some help from the police removing her from her hell hole. The RSPCA are not fit for purpose, they wait till an animal is suffering to near death or actually dead before they act, prevention is not a priority to them.

No help whatsoever, not fit for purpose and should be ashamed to advertise asking for money when they don’t care!Recently called when a neighbour passed away with no family leaving 2dogs abandoned in the property. RSPCA were not a bit of help and not interested in helping. They were quite happy for the animals to be left locked in the property with no food or water! Luckily after many hours on the phone the police and cinnamon trust were very helpful I used to donate monthly to this “charity” but I’ve cancelled the payment and will donate to a charity that really cares and doesn’t just want to pay their boss the big bucks!

Agree with others. I have concerns about a neighbours cat with bad injury to head and in danger of losing an eye. Phoned RSPCA, answered lots of automated questions and received no useful response. Tried the Chat and spoke to a machine who again offered no help whatsoever. RSPCA obviously have no concern for cats in need of help. Agree they are not fit for purpose.

Dreadful organisation that puts down healthy animals on a regular basis. I wonder how many of your donors know this. My advice, donate to a more worthy charity that does not put down healthy animals. Defund the RSPCA!!

Absolutely livid. Wasn’t home was at a hospital appointment ( 32 weeks pregnant) and seen on my ring door bell someone from the RSPCABanging on my door/ windows LATE at night when any other night both my YOUNG kids would be fast asleep! Note: No pets in my property!

The RSPCA once helped me but I had to go through a third party who had contacts. My beef with the RSPCA is the top execs aren't short of a few bob especially now that there is a tip applied to all donations. NB Do a bit of digging and you can change this tip. Also this new tip practice does not appear on all RSPCA websites. Odd.The recent headlines make for sad reading but apparently they have gone from strength to strength over the last 6 years if you believe RSPCA propaganda. I would like to know where. Did you know that if you donate £1000 to the RSPCA through their Canterbury website they add £100 to the donation which they call a 'tip'. £10 would cost you an extra £1. 10% in old money. This is to help with costs apparently. They use a company called ENTHUSE to help with harvesting money etc. There's no obvious explanation of what the actual costs are.It appears that the RSPCA needs to go back to its roots and help animals. Britain is not a nation of animal lovers and the RSPCA should be prosecuting but instead they may be passing on this responsibility. Possibly kowtowing to a higher authority?Finally how can any man justify being paid over £150k a year. What did you do to deserve that excessive salary. What other compensation did you receive? What did you actually do? Sickening.

They do not care about animals and condone the slaughter of innocent animals! RSPCA-assured farms have been allowed indefensible cruelty. They should be ashamed of themselves.

They simply do not care. They are fixated on getting the personal details of the person reporting the issue and not on the issue itself!! Contact the police instead. Not that they're much better, but marginally more tolerable than the RSPCA! Never mind who I am, deal with the cruelty!!There are multiple reasons why someone doesn't feel able to give their details, but it should not impact the cruelty report! If I ring an ambulance, they don't refuse to send one unless I give them my personal details. Do your job! Help the animals.

The rspca wouldn't come and inspect 4 horses and 5 pigs that were in and still are in a dreadful condition, they said have they got water, then that's OK. I would never give money to this charity they don't care

I was walking my dog this morning at chapel St leanords .and I noticed a baby deer stuck in a metal fence .it's back legs were bleeding it was in obvious pain.i rang rspca they took all my details then said they couldn't come out too busy. it would have died if it was left there so some campsite workers managed 2 prize the fence open using a jack.so at least we cared .

RSPCA does Not Deserve the Royal Title they are absolutely heartless when you report anything, just give you Vets Numbers, recently reported a Dog with an Electrified Collar on to stop her Barking, did they investigate??Hell No!!! Their advert is so caring about animals, total lie!!!! No way would I give them any money!!!!

I give a donation to the RSPCA every month but I am with drawing my support because as the other people have said on here they do not seem to careless about animals and it sickens me. They put heartbreaking incidents on TV asking for donations but that is all they are interested in YOUR MONEY!! I feel they let the public down by not coming out to attend to a animal in need and don't care about the animal suffering they are heartless. They are always going on about limited resources so why don't they employ more people to help they have the money but choose to waste it on other things less important instead of reaching every animal that is in distress.

Rspca assured meat comes from an animal slaughtered and butchered, how it lived its life before that will be irrelevant to those who consume that as food
