royalbank.ca Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives royalbank.ca a medium-high trust score on the platform: 78.6. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Known. Standard. Fair.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this above-average score? We came up with the 78.6 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to royalbank.ca's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Known. Standard. Fair. tags above. Long story short, we deem this website low risk, but you still need to pay attention to details and use common sense when engaging in online transactions of any kind. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning royalbank.ca, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between royalbank.ca and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of royalbank.ca. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of royalbank.ca, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. royalbank.ca is a low-risk website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether royalbank.ca has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether royalbank.ca boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, royalbank.ca.

This bank repeatedly puts you on hold hoping you will hang up. People with accents can't talk properly. Aren't trained and put you through ridiculous exercises to prove you own your account.Way too long of intro talking. Bouncing you around re verifying yourself 10x.New thing is rude people just hanging up on you at 5 on a Friday. Much much more. Tellers arguing with you about things they think you aren't telling truth about with larger funds.I keep asking people to put complaint in and no one does, but offers to. Immediately calling ombudsmen, they have cost me and my family time and money and late bill payment by putting ridiculous holds on my account for no reason!!!!!! more than twice in two months what is the point of me even having a card. RIDICULOUS!!!!!! I am a professional with no time for this. Also the rude guy in the fraud and theft department, that I time stamped yesterday at 2:50 pm who conveniently hung up on me after he decided he said enough and couldn't be bothered, I now have your name. You personally will be contacted.
Awful phone service. Seams like there call are forwarded to other countries to personel without trainning. Impossible for my girlfriend to get proper help. I had it bad for a car loan but she's having it worst right now, third call for no result and hours of waiting time.Never again!
The worst banking experience ever. Client service is a joke (when we can reach them at all)
As an exHSBC Canada customer swept into the Royal Bank my experience so far has been abysmal.Online Customer Service staff have no idea of what is in their web application. Do not appear to actually know anything about the products. They just read through their scripts. I have been told more than once the bank will investigate and then contact me. The ony contact I have had is when I folllow up and ususally the answer is, sorry we have no record and then they read through the scripts again. When talking to bank employees in the branch they have to refer to mysterious people in Central Canada and have had no more luck than I have. Branch employees try hard but obviously have no support. Lastly no one in th RBC takes responsibility for liasing with the customer - they all seem to be hiding under their desks. It is the worst bank I have dealt with anywhere (including institutions in 3rd world countries)- period.
You guys are terrible I come in to get my account unlocked and only my savings does then I come in to get my cheqings unlocked and it does and now I'm gunna have to come In to I get my online visa unlocked it either u guys are brain dead or Retarded
I travel a lot so when I use my credit card online transaction they ask to verify my credit card through my phone number so it will be extra charge for the international text message. I asked to change the verification to my email they said no .. so I'm going to cancel the credit card
Recently, we had to activate the Power of Attorney which did not appear to be an issue then RBC would not accept the witnessed signature of one of my siblings because they lived out of province. My mom had updated her will after our father passed almost 4 years ago. All of us were on the POA to act on her behalf, we all went to the back together and we all have RBC accounts. There was zero reason for this request! Before we could deal with the request our mother passed and now RBC is being more difficult.
RBC no longer has a specific Business teller, this is horrible for businesses and very poor customer service. I cannot stand and wait in lenghly lines. Apparently personal clients were complaining because we have a separate line....we pay more $$$ so it's a slap in face.
RBC is a useless bank. My father passed away and the family made efforts to claim the funds that was left in the account, but they did not approve the withdrawals. Close to half a million dollars. We were able to claim his investments with Solic-Unity without any issues although it was not in Fiat currency, however the process was seamless. I wish all investment banks could be seamless just like that. run far from RBC if you care about your funds.
Crystal I just like to say ur a poor excuse for a manager. And also ur staff seems to be clueless like urself. Went in the bank to close an account and some other things and was told they can’t do it. Called Rbc explained what happened voila it was done. So crystal go back to school sweetheart.
Tried to switch to RBC when creating my business. a few months in and I still have had zero access to my business account. Can't even put money into the account, nor has any RBC rep been able to help when asked. Although they have no problem charging the account and putting it into the negatives.Worst banking experience of my life. I just want someone to make this right.
This horrible bank is more like a mafia organization than a bank. They recently reversed an inurance payment 8 hours after it was processed by the bank. They told me a purchase that I made later in the day using my debit card put the account into overdraft. I stated the obvious in that the debit transaction should have been rejected. They then dinged me $45 for NSF. I regret ever opening an account their and will move to another bank.
My recent experience with RBC has been incredibly frustrating due to unprofessional staff who were unable to resolve a relatively straightforward issue. I was trying to make a payment to a hotel outside of Canada, and the payment wasn’t going through. I called the RBC credit card department for assistance, but the staff didn’t seem to understand the problem. After spending over an hour on the call, I was repeatedly transferred to different departments, each time, I had to wait in the queue. The experience was time-consuming and frustrating, leaving me with the impression that the customer service team is not adequately trained to handle even routine issues. RBC needs to improve its customer service process and equip staff with better problem-solving skills.
We applied for morgage protection insurance and was quoted $160.77 for critical and life per month but when it was approved yesterday it was $237.00. I called and they said that I never spoke to an insurance specialist and was quoted the wrong amount. Now we have to cancel the critical and apply for disibility instead because it's too much.
Royal Bank iroquois falls....Disgusting service! went in to open an account...only 1 teller working...second teller and manager playing with photocopier....10 minutes at desk, no service...finally get called to teller to be told "come back tomorrow" Will NEVER open account there now.
Shame on this office! Last year, they aided in the manipulation of a frail, forgetful, elderly man by agreeing to accept a document that was signed (or forged) on a date after he suffered two seizures which severely hampered and negatively affected his cognitive ability to make a fair and reasonable major financial decision. As a result, one of my siblings was able to steal the hundreds of thousands of dollars in my dad‘s 401(k) account! Not only did this office allow her to do that, they refused to show me the form my dad allegedly “signed.” Awful. Matt Kehoe never would have allowed this to happen, he was the best!
This bank only robs its clients. I’ve had funds in my account to cover payments. I was told the payment was returned because the opening balance for the day was not sufficient? Payment is due on the 15th, at 2:30pm I made sure the funds were in the account. Next day at 3pm they returned the payment and charged me 45.00. The payment did not go out of my account until the 16th at 3am. So funds were in the account without a doubt! This is just wrong!
An agent blocked my credit card since they deemed there were suspicious activities whilst I was travelling. This left me stranded in a foreign country and although I spoke to a dozen agents I still have not heard back from them (nearly 24 hours atm) the issue is left unresolved.
We have been dealing with Shelina at the McLaughlin/Bovaird branch of RBC. She has been nothing but friendly and extremely helpful. It is as if she is living through the house buying process with us. I would like to thank her for all her help and her understanding of the pressures we were under. I would also hope that not only her immediate supervisors but also RBC in general, would recognize her as a truly valuable asset to the organization.
Worst Bank EverI went to the teller to deposit a cheque, I was told if they put it in there will be a five day hold and if I use the atm there will not be a hold. I deposited it at the atm no hold, I went back a couple weeks later and put a cheque in from the same company and they put a five day hold on it instantly. I called RBC and was told high call volume tell us what your calling about and I did to get told it isn’t important and to go online to the help chat and they hung up. When I went online to help chat they said one to hour wait to talk to someone. I called RBC the next day to get told they cannot do anything because I deposited it through the atm. They said the teller was wrong and I should have went to the teller and they only thing I can do is wait 5 days for the hold to come off. POOR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. They do not care about their customers and they are one of the worst banks to deal with. Do not open an account here. If you actually want a bank that has customer service.

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
