realtor.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives realtor.com one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 88.6. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 88.6 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to realtor.com's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a secure website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning realtor.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between realtor.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of realtor.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of realtor.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. realtor.com is an authentic, safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether realtor.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether realtor.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, realtor.com.
Online Reviews of realtor.com

- Score: 1.3 stars
“Website freezes”
Website is infuriating, freezing up constantly, will use homes.com going forward. Also why do you say house prices drop at same time sq footage price is up? Horrible website
“Trash company refusing to remove pictures of my house”
After I bought my house I requested them to remove the pictures of my house and it took them forever to get back to me saying they cannot verify I am the owner. They never had the right to keep those pictures on their site after the house is sold in the first place. Zillow and Redfin quickly removed all the pictures after I claimed the ownership. What a trash site. Service Value Quality
“Leads are Trash”
I spent $12k and got 100 buyer leads. Lots of Realtors, dreamers looking at manufactured homes, and people pissed off I called. Total waste of money. I tried to cancel since I didn't sign anything. They said the phone conversation was binding. Going to collections now. They can pound sand. Worse than flushing money down the drain. Products used:Lead service Service Value Quality
“Made empty promises and refused a refund”
The sales agent assured me that it was a risk-free investment to try them out for 6 months. I gave them over $500 and received a number of leads that were simply curiosity and not vetted at all. In addition, I was never able to use the app on my phone and all they would say is this is who we are and this is what we do. This was definitely a tremendous waste of money for me as a realtor and I will never use them again. Tip for consumers:I was assured by the sales agent that I would be reimbursed if the product did not perform as expected. He told me I had no risk. That was not true. Once I signed up, he stopped answering emails and the people who reach out to me simply read a script and did nothing to rectify the situation. Products used:Lead service Service Value Quality
“Huge waste of time”
Anyone who can click a button will count as a lead. You will get tons of leads for the least expensive listing in your area, which will typically be an old mobile home on leased land which isn't even actual real estate and almost impossible to finance. It won't matter though, because the "lead" is usually a bogus number and/or email, or they don't answer, or they tell you their credit score is 420 but they really want you to help them. When my year was up (don't think I wasn't counting the days!) Realtor.com sent me an email that for some reason went into my Spam folder, saying I would be automatically charged and re-upped for another period of time if they didn't hear from me in a matter of days. Imagine how surprised I was to see another $480 charge on my CC statement! It took hours of time and trouble with both the bank and Realtor to get the charges reversed. Products used:Leads Service Value Quality
“CUSTOMER SERVICE”
I tried to get an issue on my consumer profile, called the customer service and after sending me to 4 different people and 56 minutes on the phone, they said they have to create a case number then someone will reach out to me via email or? Within 48 hours...really? No one to talk to now that fix the issue? Professionalism...NO! Use ZILLOW THIS SITE STINKS! Service
“Don't even deserve a 1 star!”
I gave this company a chance a year or 2 ago and it was bad. Afterwards they called over and over for years till the point I decided to give it another try. Well jokes on me! Leads are even worse now. Leads are duplicates that they also SELL with Opcity. (Have proof of that) leads that will kit even qualify for $10k. Leads that are so aggressive because there info has been giving to 100's of realtors so they are just pissed you are number 101 to contact them! I reached out to them, AJ Tizigbar in specific. He called me once offering me more leads! Yeah no thanks, more effort and time on my end and still the crap quality. He said there's nothing they do, at the end of your contract you can submit a review but out of previous experience I know that never happens and they will come up with a reason to decline you. All together a piss poor company with the worst customer service! Service
“Application Fee Frauds”
I was interested in an unit in Delray Beach and it was available on the realtor.com website. The website wanted me to pay an application fee of USD 52 and after the payment was made I received a SMS that the unit was unavailable. Is this a swindle, or not? If a unit is unavailable the website should not be asking for an application fee!
“Buyers agent the worst Yorky Corcho Suarez”
Our agent was amazing. This agent Yorky Corcho Suarez, La Rosa Realty, never came with buyer to show our house and not even walk through. His negligence cost us more than $4000 in out of pocket expenses because of the agent and the lending company. He finally showed up after so many delays of closing and it was time for commission. So many unethical responses I wish I could refuse his commission part and our agent deserved his as well. The lender Chris Estevez was just as bad thank you for our out of pocket expenses due to your procrastination.
“Stop listing timeshares!”
I want to buy a property, not a timeshare. If I wanted to buy a timeshare I'd go to another website. I'll go to another site to buy because it's too much trouble filtering and reading ALL the descriptions. Tip for consumers:NA Products used:NA Service Value Quality
“CALLING ABOUT A PROPERTY I NEVER LOOKED AT AND DO NOT WANT”
Company is good for spam calling random numbers to ask about properties states away. Would never use these incompetent bozo's as there site info is out of date. Service Value Quality
“Way over priced homes”
The site gives a ballpark figure of property value & it's not even close to real appraisal they overpriced, there's no housing shortage they make this stuff up as they go. I'm a cash buyer searching since March and all I see is overpriced junk looking for a mark and allow realtors to post false prices. I know you can charge whatever but your estimator should be close to actual real life value. Your misleading and fraudulent Tip for consumers:Search county records and always ask relitor who came up with price? Most go by what realitors say what they can get which is always overpriced. But realitors wouldn't do that if realitor.com was honest about value. Look at other home value in the area that sold in the past 6 months if nothing has sold then county appraisal. Why spend hundreds of dollars for a appraisal or waste your time or banks if you need a loan just for them to ask for a difference Products used:I haven't bought anything yet because over priced issues and lack of on market off market pending and the relitors are shady Service Value Quality
“Real Estate Agents Poor Lead Generations”
I have been using Realtor.com for lead generations and to say the least I am not happy at all! They sent me a lead and when I called the lady she was so irate because I had called her. She stated that she has had several real estate agents calling her which according to her she did not request. Another area of concern is that realtor.com will send messages on your behalf to the potential client stating such things as, "I will call you tomorrow". I was unaware until I looked at my messages. So say you didn't get this message, maybe you were on vacation or out of town, this looks bad on the realtor if no phone call is returned. I don't want anyone speaking on by behalf! I tried to cancel my contract with them however; to no avail. Poor customer service and they (Realtor.com) try to put the blame on the consumer. I will never use their platform ever again. Realtors and Real Estate Agents BEWARE! Tip for consumers:Do not enter into a contract with this company. Products used:Lead generations for real estate agents Service Value Quality
“REPORT SCAMMERS”
There are many people who are dedicated to stealing and defrauding small companies across the country using false information like these people. They call you and offer you business opportunities in the real estate market and property cleaning after construction. I am a realtor and company owner in South Florida with over 5 years of experience and I advise you to take a minute of your valuable time and report these people to your local police or directly to the FBI in your area. Provide phone numbers and emails where we are scammers contact you Service Value Quality
“Jennie Stephens”
Jennie Stephens made this experience more than I could have asked for. I highly recommend her. Every step of the way she was there and guided us through this crazy process. She continuously went above and beyond for my family and I. If you're looking for a realtor, she's your gal!
“Worst Website Ever!”
The sight is the worst to look for houses on. It continuously malfunction and waste your time. It continuous to refresh in the middle of searching. This happens more often than not the last 2 years. What a crap site.
“Kevin Richter& Co.”
Kevin and his team are Must have agents! We can not express into words how wonderful Kevin and His team are, and what an awesome job they did to get our home bought. Kevin worked extremely hard And was always professional. He is honest and trustworthy, always being upfront in where we were in the process. He went above and beyond to ensure we got the best deal and cut his commission to 0% to get the deal done! We never flinched that something would not get done by Kevin and his team. From Contract negotiations to financing to closing, His Team's professionalism is above reproach and always made sure we stayed positive during our journey. Kevin and his team made us feel like we were always first! I have bought and sold three houses to date with Kevin Richter & company. I would highly recommend him for all your Real Estate needs. Tip for consumers:Go with the best, Kevin Richter And Co. Products used:Contract Negotiation , Financing and closing Service Value Quality
“Very very close to being USELESS”
Oh, so many things to list that do not work on this site. And it has nothing to do with my own computer as I used to imagine. For instance, take a look at the photos I provide. In the first, New York has somehow lost its ability to have a Washington County. In the second, I type in New York in the search bar and they don't even try to clarify State? Town? Street? New York City? What kind of New York do you want? Instead, they give me listing for New Hampshire. Service Value Quality
“Joel Farthing Boone, NC Realtor”
Joel Farthing exudes confidence. Our faith in him was not misplaced. He took on the difficult task of selling an old farm and made what seemed an insurmountable task seem easy. In six months it was sold. Joel has an easy and pleasant manor about him that put us at ease.
“Burn your money instead”
This is not a service which will produce leads- at all, ever. The best they can claim is "X number of people saw your face". One year and $2600 later, I got ZERO leads from Realtor.com Local Expert advertising. Tip for consumers:Don't use this site. There is no return on investment. Service Value Quality
“Take your Bank Account, Cash out all your money, Then Set it On Fire... thats what your doing.”
90% of leads are worthless and or set ups for Con Artists using the system for Fraud. If there are any real buyers, and im sure there are some, they will be immediately turned off when they have 6 different agents calling, texting, emailing like a pack of desperate homeless bums, you can kiss even that small percent goodbye. If i were spending 100 a month maybe its worth it, but anything over that is like burning your cash... literally!
“New Format Is Useless”
The new format is useless because filters are limited. Takes way too long to weed through properties and way too many ads. Can someone tell me why the site was changed. I will be using other sites for searches.
“Pretty good”
Best app available for home searching but I wish they would add more search features such as "no pool" and "master on the main". I wish they would require that sellers put the HOA fees in the listings. I Also experience issues getting updates when new homes come on the market or the price changes but it is still better than other apps.
“1907 Georgia Ave; Winsston-Salem, NC”
Losing my Husband of 50 yrs, living in Buena Vista 45 yrs, dealing with personal loss, organizing liquidation, staging a 95 yr old house--KUDOs! I'm in awe of your "personal" touch to my needs. I did not know what to expect. You guided me step-by-step with your help and your team. Your personal touch of "making my home real estate ready for sale" helped so much dealing with my loss. And it doesn't stop there. My home sold and you continue to follow up in my new residence. You are setting a precedent as a realtor, particularly for the aging population. Than You So Much to you, Beth Hall, and your Keller Williams Team.
“Realtor.com found us our perfect home”
I found Realtor.com an easy site to use, save searches and homes of interest. In reality, this site found the home we bought as it was sent in an e-mail. We contacted our Realtor who met us at the home that evening. There were three bids submitted that night and we won the bid. This home is our perfect dream home. Without the e-mail from Realtor.com we would not have found this house quickly enough to bid on and purchase.

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies this service works and is trustworthy. It costs only $6.49/month but is worth the cost. U.S., UK, EU, Swiss, and Canadian residents only. Click below.
