puritan.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives puritan.com a medium-high trust score on the platform: 75.8. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Standard. Valid. Common.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 75.8 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to puritan.com's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Standard. Valid. Common. tags above. Long story short, this site's trust score still warrants a little caution. Use common sense when using this website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning puritan.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between puritan.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of puritan.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of puritan.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. puritan.com is a likely trustworthy website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether puritan.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether puritan.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, puritan.com.

“Did not ship order, don't answer 2 weeks already”

I made order and waiting 2 weeks already, it is not shipped yet. I didn't receive confirmation email when ordered, but have confirmation number. I emailed them many times, no any answer. I called them, was told that order will be shipped and I will get email, nothing again, even email, during many days. Just when I need one of products urgently. I bought their products for thousands dollars during many years, have highest status, and now they spit at me.

“Order Didn't Ship and Requested Credit Not Issued.”

A partial list of my Puritan Pride vitamin orders is attached as verification. My last order on 11/28/2023, although shown as having shipped, had not been sent by 12/17/2023 when I emailed customer service or by 1/2/2024 when I talked to a customer service agent. He said one of the five items I ordered was on backorder. I was given a case number, and he agreed to cancel the order and promised that a credit would be issued within, I believe, seven business days. As of 1//22/2024, 20 days later, no credit has been posted to my account, so I sent another email request. I view these failures to respond as symptoms of a company having operational and control problems. Even if they have a quality product, it's not worth the price if you don't receive the goods or a refund within a reasonable time. I would think twice before ordering from Puritan again. Products used:Vitamins/Supplements Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Out of stock”

While Puritan makes good product and I have seen good results from using their supplements, the major problem is they are all too typically out of stock. On my last 4 orders with them, there was always at least one item that they were out of stock for. I've gone elsewhere each time as the wait for the items to be back in stock has averaged 3 to 4 weeks and I don't like keeping months worth of vitamins on my shelf. Tip for consumers:Plan your order 4 to 6 weeks in advance. They are now also selling through Walmart and Amazon and frequently run out of product. Products used:Vitamins and supplements Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“They used to be great”

They haven't had product stocked in many months! I used to rely on them, but frustration sets in after 6 months and I've gone elsewhere. Not sure what is happening, maybe they are closing down? Who knows, but they are no longer a reliable supplier Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“OUT OF STOCK ON EVERYTHING!”

I ve been a customer for decades and, for the first time, everything was out of stock. The customer representative was very nice and very patient, even though I was angry. He assured me that the promotion would be available when the items come back into stock regardless of the expiration date on the catalogue; however, I have to wonder whether Puritan's Pride has not been paying its bills and is on its way out of business.

“Very unhappy customer”

Was charge 4 times for one order, was credit for two still waiting 3 credit been well over month. I have call several times, why should this be my problem. When this company mess up. Lost me for customer. Buyer beware

“Stay Away”

I don't know what to say. I just got off the phone with a customer service rep and they basically told me they couldn't help me and go back to Ebay - even though they are the sellers. They have a selling platform on Ebay and will not help. I bought a bottle of CoQ-10 in Oct 2021. I always buy and keep a supply handy and not wait for the last minute. When the bottles was opened it looked like someone poured a teaspoon of oil into it. What probably happened is that one of the gel-caps broke resulting in the oily residue. They wanted nothing to do with my problem and again directed me to contact Ebay. Now, since it is over 60 day I know nothing can be done. Oh well. Last time I deal with this company. They could care less about customer satisfaction.

“They were once awesome”

I was a 30 year customer.Recently they are out of stock on many popular item and they did ship my recent order for a week. Wwhen I called customer service they immediately gave me the option to cancel the order. I definitely sounds like the company is experiencing internal issues. I only wish they would be honest the the consumers.

“Great Company, Great Customer Service”

It is a company that respects its customers. I had a small problem with the products bought from them, I opened a case on Friday at 10pm, they immediately asked me for some information, I sent them immediately all the information they asked for and on Saturday morning when I woke up my problem was already solved. All representatives were professional, nice and ready to help and satisfy the customer. Congratulations on the way you do business. Service Value Shipping Quality

“Coupons”

We just ordered from puritan pride and had a 25% off coupon that was not expired. Clerk told us it was not for the catalog we were ordering from even though it did not say on coupon that it was only good on a certain catalog. This is very poor advertising and I was not happy with them. I think I will order from some where else next time. The coupon we had came to us in the mail, not internet. We had a very large order! Quality

“Bad service0”

I have placed the same order 3 times. It has been canceled 3 times. I even spoke to them the last time and they said everything was good. Then 30 minutes later I get an email. Saying their was a problem with my billing address. I only have one address so how can there be a problem. This is not the first time but it is the last time. Products used:None Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Went down hill”

This company use to be very reasonable and have good products, recommended them ti many family members and fridnds. But the last few years they went down hill. They have tripled their prices, one of my vitamins have been out of stock for over 8 Months, and I was sent probiotics a 6 month supply that expired in a month, returned them and waited for 6 months To exchange for a better expiration date, then they wanted to charge more. I found a better vitamin company, won't be returning. Either will any of my family members. To bad they let their company go bad. Products used:Had to go elsewhere, still waiting after 8 months for products they keep saying are out of stock and tired of receiving expired vitamins. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Updating address”

I updated my new address with Puritan and with my recent order it was shipped to the old address. I went online and it was in fact updated. So I went to live chat, Chloe, and she said I had to go update the address in the auto ship category. I looked and there was no link under auto ship to update my new address. Chloe blamed me for this even though I had updated the address on the site and had already received an order to the new address. I don't believe she knew what I was requesting and I had one other time tried contacting them and did not get anywhere. I canceled my auto ship and remove my credit card information.

“I closed my account with Puritan's Pride after ONE order!”

I closed my account with Puritan's Pride after ONE order. They have my email address, but yet they start sending me SNAIL MAIL Cards and Magazines. I NEVER Signed up for ANY of this crap. I hate companies that waste Paper, Man-power making the crap and fuel delivering JUNK MAIL that will only add to the trash, when I didn't even give them permission. IF they were a decent company, they would see that I am on the DMA (Direct Marketing Associations) Do not Mail List. They also ADD (OR CURRENT RESIDENT). That just shows what an ARROGANT and INCONSIDERATE Company they are. I am just glad I was smart enough not to give them a phone number. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Stick with companies that respect how you want to be communicated with AND Mother Earth!

“12 Year Puritan Pride customer's value = $61.01”

I have been a Puritan Pride customer for over 12 years. After a 'trial' for their personalized vitamin packs, I was forced into a subscription program that I did not sign up for, or was made aware of. I purchased additional vitamins and noticed my CC bill had an additional charge. When calling customer service, I called 4 days in a row. Each call was over 30 mins and had at least 3-4 transfers to additional people. The first call resulted in the lady 'promising' to call back... never did. The last call, finally they said they'd refund my money, then they called back 30 mins later saying that they can't, they need to call the manager in New York. I even logged into my customer dashboard and checked the 'active subscriptions' tab and nothing was active. I was completely taken by surprise for this. To put things into perspective, we're talking about a $61.01 purchase. I didn't ask for any discounts, no free product request... I even wanted to keep my other purchase of $65. No Good... they would do nothing for a 12 year customer who spent over $5,000 and sent 4 paying customers to them. Please do yourself a favor and go to Costco for your vitamins. This company cares nothing about loyalty, or their mistakes. Tip for consumers:Please be careful! They will not give a refund no matter what. Please do yourself a favor and go to Costco, Sam's Club or BJ's... Let my experience be your warning story! Good luck, Tim Products used:Multivitamins Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Absolutely useless”

Items never arrived. Promised a refund 4 times, this never arrived either. Many months and emails later had to report them to my credit card company. Absolute charlatans... avoid at all costs! Tip for consumers:It's a scam and the "customer service" staff are worse than useless Products used:None arrived Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Affordable and Variety”

Love this website. Has all the vitamins you need and more. Beauty creams both Puritan Pride's brand and other brands at a low cost. Puritan brands have super great deals. The shipping for free is only around $20.00. Ships fast too. Recommend this site.

“Order placed 1st Nov, Email to confirm order followed...”

Order placed 1st Nov, Email to confirm order followed by "Products shipped" No products as of 22nd Nov. Sent e-mails they bounced. Filled in on site contact It would not submit... Has anyone got a phone number? Are they still trading? Or are they just a scam? Oh and why does an American Co have an Australian web address? puritanspride.com.au

“Good place to buy vitamins if you're not in a hurry & free shipping without a minimum order”

They have free shipping on all orders, but this appears to have driven up the price of their products a little, but I think it's worth it in the long run. I often don't want to buy the minimum to get free shipping on other sites (like Swanson; I'm unhappy with them). Their shipments are a little slow, but I just make sure I plan accordingly.

“Billed me, won't send order, won't acknowledge order... ripped off”

Same problem as the last person. I ordered 4 days ago, was billed, never received an email confirmation but i have the order # saved. I have emailed every day for the past 4 days asking for a confirmation email with my recent order # and when it will ship and they keep sending me the email confirmation for the order prior to that and saying that it was delivered... but won't send my recent order. These are supplements that are vital to my health. I hate puritan's pride. I've been a loyal customer for years but now they are getting worse and treat me like garbage. Avoid them! They flat out stole my money and won't refund me or send my order. I've emailed them the confirmation # so many times!

“Info, sales, service, pricing”

I have been dealing with Puritans Pride for over 10 years. In that time I have never received a damaged product, incorrect product, or a miscount. Their prices are really good and it is hard to beat their sales. I have no hesitation telling people about their site.

“I've lost all trust in them.”

If I had written this a year ago, it would have been a rave. But there was a mistake in my order, and instead of fixing it, they just lied. They said they had changed the size of the pill, and that it was still the same product. I pointed out that the catalog still gave the old size pill, and they said they'd fix it for the next catalog. Except they didn't. There had never been any size change, they just lied about it. Since the supplement industry is so unregulated, trust is more important than for other products, and I have no more trust in Puritan's Pride. Updated 8-11-2016: I take magnesium and calcium to prevent night-time leg cramps. While I was taking the Puritan's Pride products, the leg cramps got worse and more frequent. Since I changed to a different provider, I haven't had a single cramp. Same supplement, same dose, totally different outcome.

“Order Cancellation / Refund is horrible!”

I placed an order on 1/12/16 and immediately called to cancel it (another negative for not having an option to cancel online). They cancelled it and said a refund would be issued. I still have not received my refund as of today 1/27/16. I called previously to inquire and they said a refund would be issued in a few days. To me, this is absolutely horrid compared to all other online shopping sites. I don't have time to have to keep calling in to ask for my refund! Will NEVER shop here again.

“Never trust your bank information to this company”

I being client for this company until 7/20/23 today, they enrolled me in a membership with out my consent, and resend an order because they liked, they said I was in a membership to receive every 3 months same order and charge to me wherever they liked, Its a pity because I will never back to buy nothing from this CORRUPTED company, Never trust given them your bank information, or this will be happen

“Poor system at Puritan”

3 years in a row now Puritan says they signed me up for the rewards program. Then every year they say Nope your not signed up. Very Poor system. Products used:Lycopene Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
