puri.sm Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives puri.sm a medium-high trust score on the platform: 77.6. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Known. Standard. Fair.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this above-average score? We came up with the 77.6 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to puri.sm's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Known. Standard. Fair. tags above. Long story short, we deem this website low risk, but you still need to pay attention to details and use common sense when engaging in online transactions of any kind. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning puri.sm, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between puri.sm and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of puri.sm. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of puri.sm, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. puri.sm is a low-risk website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether puri.sm has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether puri.sm boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, puri.sm.

I placed an order with Purism back in September 2020. It's now been four years of waiting with no product, only delays, and empty promises. I've repeatedly reached out to their customer service, but they either don’t respond or give misleading updates that go nowhere. Not only did they fail to deliver, but I’ve since moved, and they still haven’t provided any realistic information on the shipment or a refund. Trusting this company was a huge mistake, and I feel my money has been stolen. They took my payment and vanished—don’t waste your money or time on this company.Stay away if you value your hard-earned money.
Got my Librem 5 about a year ago. Awesome phone just getting better as time goes with new updates as promised.Only negative thing for me is that battery life is a little bit short, but it maybe get better with new updates.
Ordered a phone in March 2021, and they did not deliver the phone. That's it - basically, you give them money, and they ignore you.And yeah, trustpilot, the experience is still ongoing...
Two Years of waiting, no contact, no return of the $1400.00 owed. All items return with receipt for proof. This started in Aug. of 2022. this will continue till Purism refunds all owed, I would be happy to say Purism conducted business fairly. But this is where we are. As you search for your electronic, save time and money by conducting with business with highly rated company's. One star needed to post.
Ordered my phone in 2021, have been strung along for 3 years and now Purism wont even respond to my emails. I have paid in full, have evidence of that, have emails back and forth saying they are going to ship the phone and nothing. Now I dont even get a response back to my request to either refund my money or ship the phone. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE THEY ARE LEGIT.
Bought a Librem 15 version 4.- Battery life was never longer than 5min.- Couldn't get part numbers, or replacement parts from Purism.- Multiple hardware failures in the first two years.- Impossible to repair due to lack of replacement parts. - Lack of knowledge about the laptop despite having apparently designed the hardware.
After one year the battery went down. I contacted purism support to solve the issues. We tried, but the result was that we needed to change the battery. The problem is that Purism does not sell batteries outside of US, so I can't buy a battery to make my 1500 euros laptop work.I find it very unfair that Purism sells laptops outside of US without selling parts that can breaks. Like the battery in my specific case.
They take your money, don't allow you to cancel until the product is shipping, which never happens. I've been waiting 2+ years and still nothing. I think the company is a scam. They recently got back to me and said they couldn't give me money back but can give me credit... which I could only use for other backorder products that will probably also never come. (facepalm)
They forgot to let me know my order would be delayed significantly, and as the original deadline came and went I decided to contact them. I spent the next year (during the pandemic) trying to convince them not to steal my money. Fortunately I eventually got the refund after them telling me numerous times they wouldn't. If you want a niche Linux device that doesn't destroy a year of your life, buy from Pine64, they actually care about the community! They also offer support and will gladly get back to you! No run-around needed
Just some updates on Purism for anyone else who has been burnt. You can contact most of their head of staffs on Linkedin, including their CEO Todd Weaver.I am also contacting the IRS as I suspect they are trading insolvently, and an investigation needs to be started. I would highly suggest anyone else out there burnt, start contact their staff via LinkedIn, and the CEO's email is todd.weaver at puri.sm
So I would like to write the 1rst review on this companyThey take your money providing fake informations saying that your product purchased will be send early Q4, and at they don't want to refund you when they plan to ship it in December. They re definitely scammer, they currently stole me 1400USD and don't want to refund me, I NEVER accept to wait till DecemberF*** PURISM
I ordered back in February of this year (2021). As others have stated, I believe this is an elaborate scam to defraud customers. Their sight gives you a 10 - 60 day lead time… but this is not true. You can expect excuses, continual delays, changes in policy in an attempt to delay complaints. I fully expect that one day their website will go offline and they will take the money and run… assuming they ever had an operation to begin with.
Bought myself a refurb 13" Librem laptop back in April 2020 with international shipping to Europe. Came a couple weeks later. Really great product, happy so far!
I like many others order a Librem 5 in 2017 and have not received it. Just a string of emails saying it'll be here in X months or weeks and those dates roll by with no product delivered.I've had a year old email chain with João Azevedo at this point and all I get is broken promises and I have no new information. I even threatened to sue so they forwarded me to their manager, who didn't get back to me even 6 weeks later.I am disgusted by this company.
I had to send my Purism laptop back to the vendor because of a hardware problem. On my dime, BTW. That was about 1 year ago. Then, about two months ago it broke again, this time software. After a recommended update, the system stopped booting in Gnome and instead I get the shell now. When I asked support for help they sent about 7-8 different suggestions on how to replace or reinstall some components out of which none worked. When I complained again they stopped communicating with me. This product and in fact the whole company is total trash.
I bought a second Librem 5, it is just the only phone made with real Linux in mind and with direct software support from the manufacturer. Ordered and had it in my hands in Germany 10 days later. AMAZING. Now, if I only could order directly from a European seller, so I can skip the customs experience.
This website has been accepting orders with no intention to fulfilling them. The amount of people reporting that they have been scammed by this company is amazing (more on this later). The company relies on the fact that it is a registered business in the United States to gain credibility. I am beyond shocked that it is still being allowed to conduct business taking advantage of United States market in such manner! If you look at this their subreddit you will be amazed by the number of people that have been scammed. PLEASE beware of paying them money, you will NOT get it back, nor will you get the product shipped to you. While majority of people who are scammed were buyers of their mobile phone product, I am one of those who trusted their US brand and bought the laptop product, trusting them with over $3500.
Order from 2019 refund request:First of all, we would like to thank you for your patience and for your support. We do acknowledge that things take longer than we all want and we apologize this.Sadly, we do not process any refunds at the moment (not just pre-orders), but we do offer two other options. One is to get the phone which you have pre-ordered (we could ship it within several business days). Another is to receive a store credit +20% gratitude on top of the amount paid.As I do not have any timeline for the refund. All the information I currently have indicates it will not be processed any time soon. I'm very sorry and wish I had a better answer for you.Still they put me on hold and never wanna pay back my 599 dollars
I bought a mini PC from these people and later I decided to cancel the order, when they had only sent the key. I told them that they could keep the key and the expenses of the anti-interdection, but that they would give me back the mini money. They abruptly broke the communications and stopped answering me. I made a claim with Visa that has not yielded any results despite the fact that, supposedly, they guarantee the security of the purchase. Now, three months later, I don't have the mini, nor the key, nor have they returned my money. 1,317$. So that you keep it in mind before buying
Bought and paid for the Laptop and Phone at the end of 2018...I received the laptop in 2020, absolute rubbish, keyboard was faulty and within a month it would not switch on.... I received the phone at the end of 2022 and it won't charge or turn on... Rubbish scam company with rubbish staff... when you can't comment on their videos you know something is very wrong... when you see that the "Team" section in the Purism website has been removed, you know something is very wrong.... AVOID PURISM, save your money and go elsewhere....

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

  1. They have an award-winning VPN service, protecting your privacy and preventing third parties from tracking your device.
