Risky. Danger.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this low score? We came up with the 10.4 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to plantingtree.com's industry. The algorithm detected high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Untrustworthy. Risky. Danger. tags above. Long story short, we recommend staying away from this website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning plantingtree.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between plantingtree.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of plantingtree.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of plantingtree.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. plantingtree.com is a suspicious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether plantingtree.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This is a fantastic place to purchase your plant needs from. I have purchased multiple times and the integrity and availability of someone to talk to when I have questions is SPOT ON. I highly recommend them. Have never not been pleased with my order and will continue to purchase all my plants and trees from The Planting Tree!
Received root bound ornamental grass back in Decemeber 2022 and Elvis in Customer service said to go ahead and plant they would replace if it didn't grow by April. It all died.. but when I contacted them the changed their mind and wanted me to buy some insurance to cover the loss. Lynda was the new CS person and she would not honor Elvis's word even though I had the email from him!
I had 3 years of good experience until October. I paid for the grass seed they recommended & it was delivered(50lbs.)to a neighbors home on a different street, blocking the front door the day of her daughter's wedding. My neighbor was understandably furious. I got my wheelbarrow & hauled it up to my house. I called FEDEX they said plantingtree paid for shipping to contact them. So late on Friday afternoon nothing happened-ever. The seed never germinated like before(only clover). The latest from plantingtree is I had been using the wrong seed for 4 years.
I recently bought a 5-6 profusion crabapple tree from plantingtree.com using a 1 year guarantee credit (paid extra for that) for dogwood tree that did not survive this past winter. The shipment was stuck in warm weather for five days. It arrived in a distressed condition, but planting tree refused to issue a refund (because of this issue and the previously dead dogwood tree). I will not buying from planting tree again - for the price they charge, one would expect more mature plants that are of high quality
Last August we purchased six Limelight Hydrangea trees. They came with just a few leaves, but we were told it was fine as they were trimmed for shipment or some other reason. Our very professional landscaper planted the trees immediately on delivery. The trees did not grow any new leaves before the winter. And now only one looks +/- OK and one has died. The company could only offer 50% on replacement.
Lost some Loropetalum during the extended hard freeze in Gulf Coast of Texas. While waiting to see if they were dead or dormant, Planting Tree advised me what to do and how long to wait before replacing. Excellent communications with Lisa. My plants were out of warranty but Planting Tree went the extra mile and offered a substantial discount for those plants and any additional plantsI need. This will be a big help as we lost a number of our established plants too. I continue to highly recommend Planting Tree. Milton
Plants sent are large, and even had a few buds. However, I purchased two 3 gallon hydrangeas and they were packaged together in one box with minimal packing material to secure them. One plant was completely out of the planter! For the price, I would think more effort would be put into making sure your purchase arrives securely.
PlantingTree has now filled out our new front yard with their plants - almost 50 plants in total, so far. Every single plant has been of very high quality and expertly packaged and shipped. Their prices are competitive with local nurseries - and we can get exactly the plant we want from PlantingTree's extensive selection. I highly recommend them! Now on to the backyard...
Fantastic quality, fast shipping. I was leary to order online, but the Royal Purple Smoke Tree 3 Gallon and the Bloodgood Japanese Maple 4-5 Feet were in pristine condition and had been packaged extremely well! A few reviews mentioned "pricy," but I don't think so. This business and its products rate 5-star value! My new favorite green house!! Thank You!
The plant is alive, but the tips were cut off, the root ball was much smaller than the container, and leaves were falling off. May have even been some dead branches (this plant shipped to a friend as a gift). So far, I am unimpressed, but hopefully they will offer some sort of compensation. So far they have been responsive but are requiring evidence rather than immediately trying to make it right. I splurged for a "large" plant and my friend received a dinky, unhappy one for her birthday. :(
I purchase 6 boxwoods and planted them late September 2020. Spring and into July 2021 they were heathy. in late July they all died for unknown reasons. I contacted Planting Tree to try and get new boxwoods since I payed for insurance on the plants. I was asked to take a picture and only 3 were showing int he picture and the landscaper removed then before I had a chance to correct the pictures. Planting tree.com refused to provide me with new boxwoods or reimburse me for at least 3 of them.
I am on order to receive one of your products as an appreciation gift from one of our counterparties. I received an email notice from Planting Tree re: its delivery. Customer Information on the email had my address as the Billing Address. I simply wanted to confirm that I was not going to be billed for the item. Eileen S and Melissa J responded to my email expeditiously. I only wish Sprint and Cox Cable would be one-tenth as efficient as these two!
Experience so far has been awesome - Bare Tree/Branches, Soil Mix and Fertilizer all arrived promptly and well packaged. I planted the tree within an hour of its arrival, following the enclosed instructions meticulously. Only a week later, small multiple bud clusters are beginning to blossom from the lower and middle branches closest to the trunk, so it appears as if the tree is already coming out of hibernation. Since this tree was purchased as a memorial to honor the very recent passing of our loyal, 17 year old family dog, I am hoping beyond belief that this tree continues to flourish. Fingers crossed & many thanks to PlantingTree.com!
Great plants and customer service. I ordered a couple of Redbuds "Forest Pansy" to complete a focal point composition and one arrived with the main lead branch broken. Not PlantingTree's fault, the box was mishandled during shipping. The trees otherwise look good and healthy. I summited my concern regarding the damaged tree through the website and Customer Service immediately replied and processed a replacement to be sent out. I'll definitely be using PlantingTree again. Kurt: Winston-Salem, NC
I was skeptical about ordering a small tree through the mail, but I was more than happy with the fig tree from Planting Tree which arrived in perfect condition in a three gallon container. Not only were all branches in perfect shape and all leaves green and healthy, but there are about a dozen small figs and buds in the tree! Can’t wait until Spring!
NONE of the plants arrived healthy. Package in terrible condition. One plant was a root, when a tree was advertised. 2 were supposed to be grasses, again, only roots arrived with a couple of green leaves that were unhealthy looking (containers in a terrible condition, mangled and pieces of them were mixed into the dirt. When asked for replacement, they said that there was a miscommunication because they only offer roots for the tree. I went back on their page and nowhere does it say that you get roots instead of a tree.
Planting Tree garden Center is tops. I've tried others and never received anywhere near the service provided by them. Product description accurate, price very competitive, ordering super easy, delivery on time, packaging and shrub were superb. And, best of all, email updates from PTGC, were timely and accurate. I'll be a lifelong customer!
Buyer beware!!! Do not go to this company! You will lose all your money and never get your products or only partial delivery. The customer service is horrible and they do not care if you didn't receive your product. It doesn't even matter if you have the insurance!!! Buy your plants somewhere else.
We bought a Japanese Maple from Planting Tree in the Autumn of 2019. During a rough Spring season, I've been in contact with Angela from Planting Tree's customer service team. The level of commitment, courtesy, and knowledge is stunning. This is coming from someone with an extensive customer service background. Planting Tree and their team have found an ongoing customer(s) with me my family/friends.
I spent days searching at local garden centers for the plant material that I was looking for, but I was never happy with the selection or the prices. Then I stumbled upon my friends at Planting Tree! The selection and prices were only overshadowed by the tremendous staff! The staff is willing to take the time to talk with you about what you are working on and then to give ideas and suggestions. You feel like you are speaking with a knowledgeable & caring individual that is giving you genuine input. Their variety of plants is tremendous too!!

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
