outlook.live.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives outlook.live.com a fairly high trust score on the platform: 81.8. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Fair. Valid. Known.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 81.8 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to outlook.live.com's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Fair. Valid. Known. tags above. Long story short, we deemed this a known website, with a low scam probability. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning outlook.live.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between outlook.live.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of outlook.live.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of outlook.live.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. outlook.live.com is an innocuous suspicious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether outlook.live.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether outlook.live.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, outlook.live.com.

Im affraid they are in a bit of a mess at the moment, someone at Microsoft need to take control and manage this. Moving to Thunderbird and its free.
The app is an absolute joke. Had to uninstall and reinstall due to the app not responding, when I've come to add my email account I am being told I have entered my password incorrectly too many times and my account is now blocked. It is impossible for me to recover this account as I am going around in circles answering security questions and personal information to be told the information provided is insufficient, and I am now being told I have requested for this account to be recovered too many times and this is now blocked. Absolute joke!
The daily volume of spam to my inbox and junk mail is crazy. Microsoft must have stopped managing/ filtering the spam because it only got bad a couple of months ago, before that I had none. Now it's a bad product to use; I have to manually delete them everyday.
I used to really like Outlook, the interface is clean and easy to use. But the past year I've had so many issues. Everything from emails not loading properly, tons of junk mail even after I mark it as junk, some emails I'm receiving are coming in twice. Even when pulling up Outlook website, getting a message saying the link is bad...what?
Abselutely awful costumer support. I have had my email for over 20 years and have been locked out for no reason. I have important very important documents, medical records and reports for my disabled son on the account. It would take 2 seconds to verify it is me with a phone call but after hours in chat with support I have gotten no where. I have completed over 10 recovery forms and no response in over 4 week despite u saying I should here back in 24hours. I have spent hours on char with support who just say that will chase it but nothing actually happens. I am now considering legal action as you are nit giving me any ither option. very very disappointing and very let down by Microsoft. Of I could give 0 stars I would.
Worst ever everyday I get the same spam email every day I put it in the spam slot and have been for several months yet still comes in my inbox. Started Oct last year everyday since sometimes twice
Not ready for prime time. This is an absolute cluster. Microsoft took a reasonable product and added confusing features, no synchronization with the native Windows 11 mail product and now I have to switch back and forth between a “classic Outlook” inferior product to a “new Outlook” even more seriously inferior product. I have to create new signature blocks for each product and drafts are constantly lost and found. My productivity has suffered immensely by Microsoft force feeding this terribly inferior product on us. If it were not for needing certain apps that only work on the MS OS, I would toss my HP PC into the garbage and never look back.
What a complete joke Outlook email are ... I forgot my email password to login to account & to change it they sent a code to the email address I am trying to open ... Outlook bring a new meaning to stupidity
Just junk. The way they now organize emails into "conversation" groups makes it near impossible to search and find anything from past emails.
hotmail (outlook) is literally the worst email software I've ever used. Recently had to move our email box from outlook elsewhere due to privacy concerns and the software doesn't send a verification code so I can verify my account in order to just FORWARD our emails to the new one. It already took a wait of 30 days for the email of the account to be changed to our new one (it was stuck with some old one from 20 years ago)Now this.. Its a nightmare. its like its done on purpose to prevent people leaving. Seriously lame.and I haven't even started on the UI. Can't see the header when you're typing your replies.. a horror all round.
The product has gotten dramatically worse over the last couple of years. There are now adverts that look like unread emails which seems like it should be illegal. Obvious spam is getting through to my inbox which is ridiculous for a company that's meant to be on the cutting edge of AI. I'm auto forwarding emails to an iCloud email and Apple is able to identify Spam that gets through the Outlook filter without issue.
Don't choose Hotmail or Outlook if you'd prefer a spam free life, whatever filters they use are totally not fit for purpose! I am now on the verge of closing this account as it's become ridiculous.
I was happy with Outlook Classic, for several months I was able to revert to this format from the new simply dreadfull version. Now the toggle is missing and I appear to be stuck with the very irritating version. I receive adverts supposedly tailered to me. I have never played Bingo and at the age of 80 am unlikely to start now. I have also no interest in the much promoted Ocean Credit. Having changed from tailoured ads to total random ones there is at least some variety! The text in the new version is small and the appearance is of a jumble rather than the clear logical version of Classic. I have completed the questionaire re the new version many times with no response. I am now in the process of moving my emails elsewhere.
Als telefoon app!!!I think Outlook phone is a bad product. In several cases I cannot find the email, neither in the words of the email nor in the subject. I even tested!!!! To find things, I created a similar email address in Gmail, which indeed makes searching easier. I send a copy of my mail to this address ALSO, it is not possible in OUTLOOK, unlike Gmail, to select 2 or more MESSAGES and mark them as "unread"... This must be done 1 by 1. I'm going to phase out Outlook.... Just bad product!!!!🛑 Don't do it! As a phone app!!!
Less features and now they are trying to make people pay for their email service to get the full "experience". My spell check does not work either, really disappointing.
After decades of using the Windows Outlook desktop client, Microsoft suggested the "new Outlook" as a new desktop interface. I must say I reverted to the legacy version which is more complete. This review is about the web interface to Outlook, which looks a bit like the desktop New outlook.Yet as a web client, I find it fabulous as an extension to the desktop client. I'm using it on my outlook.com email account and the experience is just great. The search feature is impeccable once you get accustomed to the syntax and decide where to look for (left of the search prompt) and use the advanced options (arrow right of the search prompt). It can be set to have a dense (yet clear) interface. Everything I like on a large screen. As a user who likes to sort emails by folders, I find the rules to work flawlessly (although 90% of mine run on the desktop client). And filing emails to a given folder is a breeze (type V and enter part of the folder name).I use it both on my pro and personal accounts as a companion to the desktop client. Two things I think Microsoft could improve :- Add a bit of contrast in the separators (eg somewhat darker "today" or "yesterday" horizontal bars in the inbox)- The 2DO app is bulky and its presentation is not dense enough. Why doesn’t it look more like the mail window?
I think there is 0 review because outlook mail have to be the worst mail have ever opened. Expecting code for over days now because I want to login but I couldn’t get a code till. I one time have issue with there robot stuff a while ago. This is rubbish and I am tired of them. Don’t! Don’t use outlook mail unless they refines it
Absolutely confusing, because it keeps reverting to Microsoft Exchange, and it’s so tragically challenging to locate, sequence the fields properly and confirm that outlook is in fact outlook and not exchange, because they look so similar. There has be an easier option than outlook. Setting up outlook is definitely for technical people who know what they doing. Very, very unuser friendly.
This is about Trimova weight loss drops. Ordered and never received 😞 says it was delivered in Georgia and I live in Oklahoma. They won't give me a refund and they keep saying it is on the way total scam.
Took perfection and destroyed it with by forcing change that was never asked for by literally anyone. I want the old view back, it was literal perfection.

“Slow as treacle, devoid of functionality”

Everything here takes forever, be it opening an email or uploading a file. Reminds me of dial up modem days. It is that slow. Low quality spam filter. Can only block things by email address - no other options I've found. Few options to sort or filter anything. Wish I hadn't given it out as my email address.

“Ten Minutes to Load Emails”

I dread having to use my hotmail account. The email is divided into Focused and 'Other,' but all the important emails is in the 'Other' section. When I click on that section, it can take up to ten minutes to load. I've missed important government job notices because of how slow this website is.

“Sebastian Campo”

My name is Sebastian Campo and Max just helped me cancel a subscription. He was very well spoken and had great manners doing his best trying explain me different options during the process. He deserves a raise, not many customer service workers have his patience and understanding of their job. Once again, thank you Max and thank you guys for this amazing website to build my resume. “Outlook Live is not a good package”

Problems just don't get fixed now two years since it was updated. Nowhere near the quality of the original Outook. I don't understand why Microsoft hasn't demanded this newer version be brought up to acceptabel performance. As a mater of choice, use gmail instead!

“Great email service”

I really like this email service. It is smooth and it never blocks. I think together with gmail it is the best choice you can do.

“OUTLOOK 365 IS TRASH!”

I purchased Outlook 365 about six months ago. Starting about one week ago, the program started freezing up! I called Microsoft support and they could not help! The tech said he needed to take a break and would call me back. I was very pleasant and did not offend him. He NEVER called me back! After about two hours, I called back on the support line and waited about 30 minutes to get another tech. I explained my situation to him, and the line went dead. Of course, he did not call me back either. Would never use this program in the future and will be looking for an alternative!

“Jumping Through Hoops”

So, I had to set up an Outlook email account for work. No problem, set it up just fine and it worked well. However, I no longer work there, so I decided to go into it and delete it. Figured it would be simple. Take like 3 to 5 minutes. Was I ever bloody wrong. It was PAINFUL trying to delete it. First off, I had to look up how cause it's not like Outlook makes it straight forward. So I do, and of course get outdated information. Once I find the right info, I click the link to where it'll pull up a page on closing me account, and instead of going straight to the page, it wants me to put in my other email so it could send a code. I try that and the code never comes through. So then I try an alternate method with me phone number. I do that, but then apparently that disrupts me security settings, so now the account deletion page won't pull up because settings changed and I have to wait 6 days. Wth? So then I cancel that, and revert back to trying to get them to send me the code via email. After 10 more minutes of bs, the code suddenly decides to show up. I type in the code and hit submit only to get a sign in window even though I am already bloody well signed in. After signing in with my "alternate" email twice, it finally decided to direct me to the page where I could finally after 30 F*****N MINUTES delete and close my account. I was livid and we scottish lasses are known to have fiery tempers. All I wanted to do was close my account. Not jump through a $#*!e ton of hoops to do it. It should have been a quick simple and easy process. Something that takes like 3 to 5 minutes. But no, no, it took easily over 30.

“Honest opinion”

Unable to update. Constantly dealing with issues. Many times unable to use it for important purposes. Nothing but problems from day 1

“Have had it for years!”

I love outlook so intuitive and easy to use. It has been my primary email account. It is free, you can purchase more space if needed. And I like that it moves the junk emails automatically to a different folder. Great experience! Service Value Quality

“Outlook ongoing spam emails”

I'm getting fed up with Outlook emails that knew it was spamming. I blocked the senders but it yet keeps on clogging up in spam folder when I found out it was from same senders. There's a term of use but they don't give a stuff about it. Shame on Outlook email services.

“We use it at our company”

We use outlook at our company and I am very happy with it, it's reliable and the web application works very good

“Bad CAPTCHA”

I spent a solid 20 minutes trying to do the CAPTCHA required to make an account and even if I got them all correct, it would fail me at the last one and give me more every time.

“Good Email service”

It is a good email service with many different features, I use it for all my business and I prefer it to google gsuite

“Отличный сайт”

Отличный сайт! Лучший и надёжный сервис! Единственное, что хотелось бы, так это больше тем на весь экран! Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Outlook is trash”

It is completely unintuitive, and like most of Microsoft product, inferior to others. Some things that have not been inferior, are Microsoft word, Teams, and Windows (but this is sort of a monopoly anyway). Microsoft outlook is just the only available well known office program that people have become used to through work related exploration. It gives people the false sense that it is intuitive, when it is not intuitive at all. Example: The signature requires html coding, instead of attaching the same tool in word ("wrap text"). Why is this the case? Probably the same reason why Edge, Explorer, Bing, and other Microsoft programs are inferior. Incompetency and market choke-hold. Service Value Quality

“Thanks Brio.”

I visited BRIO for happy hour and the place was very busy, I ordered the shrimp appetizer and wine. The waitress that serve there on May 4/17 for happy hour, was really nice serving everybody. I called the Manager and pointed to him that, that, the waitress serving us was supper nice. The Manager Mr. Will replied, "thanks, I will send you a free glass of wine". The services at BRIO is good, food was delicious and the Manager and the Waitress, two excellent people. Thanks both of you, at Brio, locate: Hallandale Gulfstream Park. I give 5 stars for your excellent services. Natalie R.

“F THOSE MICE”

Way to go Outlook. I can't use my f-in email. I tried to send an email today and it wants me to verify my account. So outlook pulls up this puzzle for me to solve to "verify" my account. Ok. I've done these puzzles before... TOUCH THE MOUSE THAT CAN'T REACH THE CHEESE Well now. That's new. Oh but wait... there's a time limit. And if the time limit goes out, I have to restart the puzzle entirely. So I have to quickly look at 6 different mazes, and figure out quickly, what mouse can't reach the damn cheese, before the time goes out. Oh, and it makes me do this puzzle ten separate times. And I better choose correctly those 10 times cause if I miss one... one mistake... I have restart. Well, after 20 tries where I guess I keep getting one or two wrong and having to restart, I decided to stop and give my email a break, cause now I CAN'T SEND EMAILS UNTIL I PERFECTLY SOLVE THIS STUPID PUZZLE. The puzzle itself isn't really hard. It's the time limit that get's you for you have 6 mazes to look at and figure out and you have to do it 10 times to 'verify'. I'm no stranger to Captcha verification stuff, but this is by far the dumbest one I've seen and considering I can't send an email until I nail it perfectly, it's extremely annoying.

“Typical "Scam"! What you see is NOT what you get!”

Fell for a China company pretending to sell quality clothing by posting photos of "actual" quality clothing. Nothing fits properly, wrong color, extremely cheap materals. Should have known better, live & learn!

“Faulty TV BOX - meecool BB2 PRO.”

I contacted Banggood re: faulty Item. I received good communication. After describing the nature of the fault Banggood advised they will send a Replacement. I will continue to purchase from Banggood with confidence. Gordon.

“Be careful!”

So if you read my review about Microsoft you know what I am talking about. But you need to be careful whatever you do do not sign up for Microsoft promotional emails because of some reason they temporarily susped your account! By the way this has happened to me twice, beware when making a new account! Buy the way you also got to not temporarily suspend your own account(trust me this has happened to me before by accident) take my advice seriously until I say they fixed this security issue I contacted them bye email but never herd back (only one would work I tried others but it said it could not reach inbox or something like that). Beware, be careful please. And if you don't have a phone number and you created it without it asking for one beware. Tip for consumers:Beware, be careful Service Value Shipping Quality

“Buggy”

Cons: -It signs you out out of nowhere. When you sign in, sometimes it signs you out. It's weird. -If there is an error in sending the email, you will not get a notification about it. So if you send someone an email they may not get it. Especially emails that have attachments. -Emails that you have already read may still come up highlighted in blue as if you have not read them yet. For someone with OCD, this can be really annoying. -If you use it as part of an organization (ie: college), then once you sign in on outlook. Office, you have to sign in on your organization's website too. So you're signing in twice just to check your email. Pros: I honestly can't think of any. It's just another faulty project by Microsoft.

“Con artists”

Ordered charging leads some 12 days ago no sign and to rub salt into the wound they sent an email asking if I was happy with the purchase, when I attempted to send a reply what a surprise, it wouldn't allow me to log in and send my review!

“Wow”

My bracelet arrived today and i was sitting in the sun when I took it out of its little pink bay the sun caught it and all i could say was WOW THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUl

“Sorry but unlike other reviewers hotmail does not get...”

Sorry but unlike other reviewers hotmail does not get my vote. The simple reason was because I signed up on hotmail and one day while trying to get on to my account I found out that the site was not accepting my password. It was simply frustrating trying again and again I contacted the customer support and used an alternative email for them to contact me and nothing happened and they never did contact me. For me hotmail is the worst and I am not going back with hotmail ever again. I will use another email site but I guarantee you it won't be hotmail that's for sure.

“Stunning”

Beautiful dress and very quick postage to Australia...

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.

If you own outlook.live.com, we’d love to hear from you. If you'd like to challenge the trust score we’ve assigned, we’re happy to take a closer look. However, please be prepared to provide solid proof of your business's legitimacy. Introduce yourself with your name (not just "Admin").

When domain owners contact us to dispute their trust score, we kindly ask for the following:

* Business documentation that verifies your legitimacy (e.g., certificate of incorporation, business registration, or official records with the site or business name).

* Your personal LinkedIn profile and the business's social media accounts (e.g., Facebook).

* If available, proof of satisfied customers (e.g., screenshots, not just testimonials on your website), evidence of inventory, or records of handling order cancellations properly.

We’re more than willing to update your review based on the evidence you provide—the more proof, the higher your trust score. Please note, however, that we cannot verify non-operational websites or those redirected to other URLs. Additionally, we do not verify websites involved in high-risk financial services, gambling, adult content, or illegal activities.

Please send the following via email to [email protected].
