orvis.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives orvis.com one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 88.8. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 88.8 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to orvis.com's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a secure website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning orvis.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between orvis.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of orvis.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of orvis.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. orvis.com is an authentic, safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether orvis.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether orvis.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, orvis.com.

Placed an order on July 2nd and Orvis acknowledged that it wouldn't ship until July 12th. July 12th came and went and still no shipment. Went online and discovered that the ship date had been pushed out until July 26th. Contacted customer service and they advised me that they still did not have the product but tried to push a bait and switch claiming that instead of the $18 fly box I ordered I could purchase a fly fishing pack at $119. This was a birthday gift and was required prior to July 26th. I asked if I could cancel the order and they only offered a store credit. Awful delivery and customer service
The sales person was so rude to me.I am beginner fly fisherman and I was looking for maybe rod combo set for me .while discussions with sales person after a few minutes a new customer walked in looking at fly rods and he left me standing there alone while he started working with new customer ,he never said anything to me but just abandoned me after I drove for 30 minutes to get there. After standing there 10 minutes I left and went to Quest outdoor and they were fantastic. This was in Louisville ky off of highway 42
I am a fan of Orvis products but not of their online shopping site!Their offer of 15% discount "next order" and free shipping are , at least , confusing! My last attempt at ordering $238 worth of goods at checkout totaled more than $300 with no free shipping and no discount! I could go on...
Very surprised to hear these reviews. I have always found their customer and after sales service to be excellent, including two high end rods that I broke completely through my own fault (car doors etc). They repaired them - one as recently as last month - no questions asked at an extremely reasonable price (hardly more than return shipping) and they were both as good as new. Their rods and reels are fairly priced for the quality and my Helios II rods (5wt, 8wt & 12wt) are the favorites I own.
Ordered shirts. After hearing nothing for a week, checked the order. Orvis had cancelled it without even sending me a email. Contacted them and got an email stating: shirts they sell on the webstore do not stock in the webshop, and had to be shipped from a retail store and they do not ship overseas. Despite saying on the store they do ship international. Why even have the option to buy it and place an order? Why even list things you dont sell? Never had an experience like this in any webstore. Nevertheless, switched to Simms, they delivered it in 2 days without any hassle. In retrospect its my fault, i should have read up on the Orvis.com reviews, I can now see that clearly Im not alone having issues with the store/company. Goes without saying I will not use Orvis.com again
Go woke, go broke. I own thousands upon thousands in Orvis merchandise. Along came COVID. Whilst in my home, under lockdown, I began to unravel the truths that have been hidden from me for my lifetime. I took a deep dive into the rabbit hole and when I came out I discovered that we are truly living in a matrix of lies, propaganda, deceivers and subversion. Enter Orvis, a company that is onboard with a globalist agenda that includes a nullification of the social contract. Orvis is not my friend because I am on team humanity. The veil has been lifted "for those that have eyes to see"
I bought an Orvis Helo rod last year and the tip broke in the first 10 minutes of fishing. Now they advertise the new rod is 4x stronger. How about standing behind your product. Obviously a known issue the last rod sucked and I was stuck buying a replacement piece before I caught my first fish. I would go sage anytime now going forward.
Horrible company with customer service reps that don't know how to do anything but lie. I ordered over $100 in flies for a trip and over a week later only 1 fly has shipped out of 36. First they say 15% off your first order, then when you check out you don't get 15% off anything except select items. They charge your credit card for each individual item ordered instead of one charge likely to get around higher criminal penalties for fraud/scamming customers. They just need to close down since they are no longer brand that wants to sell items.
I bought a pair of pants for a safari in Tanzania, the kind with a zipper around each leg so you can make them shorts? Just a few wears in, the left leg zipper failed and became unstuck. Required constant manipulation to keep the lower half zipped to the upper half. Plastic zippers!( REI uses metal zippers) These pants cost over &100 and of course once you are out on safari there is no where to return or replace. Boo! (PS photo safari no animals injured or inconvenienced.)
In my opinion... the absolute worst and most overrated company on the planet in regard to their fishing products. Orvis is truly clinging to their old identity when they were the only player in town. This is the go to for clueless old men who had no other options, wanted to show off for their old friends and online shopping wasn't available. If you need anything fishing related, buy Simms, G Loomis, Scott, and Hardy.
My question:"Please can you tell me how to care for my Orvis Field Coat? In particular, I would like to improve its water repellence, which has deteriorated over time"Orvis customer service response:"Thank you for your email I am sorry we do not offer a re waxing service for the field coat.We would suggest, even though this is not dry cleanable seeking advice from a professional dry cleaners to see if they can advise further Apologies we are unable to assist you"You judge for yourself how many stars this deserves.
Horrible customer service! Purchased 5 shirts that I ended up sending back because they weren't what I thought they were. Used their supplied return label and tracking number. They say they never received them and that I'm sol because they don't keep track of their return tracking numbers! I'm disputing this thru my CC company!
I stopped by the ORVIS flagship in Manchester, VT last fall with my wife and was aghast at the drop in quality and selection, throughout the store. What was once a wonderful source for clothing, house items and outdoor equipment is now a joke. It appears that the new generation of the Perkins family does not know what they are doing and running the iconic brand into the ground. Very sad indeed!
I bought the Left Bank double knit sweater coat #GE24NT. The catalog says it is Merino/nylon/alpaca/silk/cashmere/spandex. Calling it a lush merino/alpaca blend. When received, the tag inside states that it is 30% wool, 35% viscose, 35% nylon. I spent a considerable amount of time sewing snaps on before I found this, so I don't think I can return it. I only wanted natural fabrics, this is disgusting. I have always loved their quality, but now I don't trust them.
I agree. I once considered it an upscale brand but their marketing turned me off.I received a catalogue a few years ago and every model had a tattoo.I’m not judging anyone with a tattoo but no one in my family, including my children, have one.We are a conservative , educated upper middle class family that shops for quality and support companies that share our values.Too bad, it was once Iconic but is making its move to the masses, poor quality and a woke mentality.
I have used Orvis products for years - but no more. The quality has fallen far below acceptable. A pair of waders that leak this year and then I tried the Hydros Cold Water Intermediate and the loop at the end of the line separated on my second day out. Very poor quality.Additionally, the shipping is awful. $9.95 for a small box - a fly line. One order took 11 days and the next good 12 days.Orvis has lost it.
I purchased the Trout and Frog Animal Squeaky Toys for my two small dogs (mini size). I also have two large and one medium-sized Australian Shepherds that love to tear the stuffing and the squeaker out as soon as they get a new toy. Well, these toys can co-exist with all five dogs! They have yet to pull out the stuffing or the squeaker and I've had them for 10 days now. It's a new household favourite and I will definitely be purchasing more from Orvis.
After receiving the correct order, I returned two shirts, as they were too large and made of a heavier material than expected. I didn’t do an exchange, but was expecting a full refund. I was charged full shipping, returned shipping, and tax on shipping. Almost $27.00 for TWO shirts!! During a pandemic when online shopping is a must, I will be more selective where I shop. EVERYONE is offering free shipping. I cannot recommend ORVIS for this reason.
Haven’t used Orvis for many years so I thought I would treat myself to a new belt, ordered it Tuesday by PayPal.Phoned customer service to complain about delivery charge of 5.95.Was told that is their standard delivery charge.I queried that at that price it should be a quick delivery, told it would be delivery middle of next month. After reading all the complaints I wish I hadn’t used Orvis, certainly won’t be using again, rubbish company.
Orvis has a gem of a sales associate at their Eastern hills mall location in Williamsville, new York! She is rosemary smardz. Hope the spelling is correct. A round of applause for rosemary s assistance to me during my feeble attempt at gift buying for my wife for Christmas. She matched colors , found sizes, made accessory suggestions and even, yes, gift wrapped my purchase, just like when I was a kid ! All these tasks and even remained pleasant through out the session. Okay, I spent less than 200 bucks but she treated me like a million, not too common these days......go see her and tell her I said hi ! D.Bloom, Williamsville, NY

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.

How To Stop Third Parties From Tracking Your Devices

The second most powerful fraud prevention tool you should consider is Surfshark. Here is why you should get it now, as the first 5 months are free:

  1. They have an award-winning VPN service, protecting your privacy and preventing third parties from tracking your device.
  2. They will notify you when your personal info is leaked online so you can delete your private data from the Internet immediately.
