officedepot.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives officedepot.com a fairly high trust score on the platform: 81. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Fair. Valid. Known.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 81 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to officedepot.com's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Fair. Valid. Known. tags above. Long story short, we deemed this a known website, with a low scam probability. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning officedepot.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between officedepot.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of officedepot.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of officedepot.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. officedepot.com is an innocuous suspicious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether officedepot.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether officedepot.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, officedepot.com.

“FAILURE TO HONOR EMPLOYEE PROMISES.”
I RETURNED 7 USED INK CARTRIDGES ON DEC 16,2024 AND WAS ASSURED THAT THE DISCOUNT WOULD APPLY TO PURCHASES NEXT MONTH. NO MENTION WAS MADE OF ANY RESTRICTIONS. I WENT TO PURCHASE A PRODUCT ON JAN 5,2025 AND WAS TOLD THAT MY RETURNS WERE NO GOOD, AS I DIDN'T MAKE A $10 PURCHASE IN DECEMBER. THIS RESTRICTION WAS NOT MENTIONED OR DISCUSSED IN DECEMBER. IN MY OPINION, A PROMISE MADE BY ANY EMPLOYEE OF A COMPANY SHOULD BE HONORED, REGUARDLES OF "COMPANY POLICY". I HAVE MADE MULTIPLE PURCHASES FROM THEM IN THE PAST, BUT WILL NOT IN THE FUTURE. Products used:NONE
“Unprofessional Staff!”
Upon reviewing all the feedback, it is imperative to consider assigning a rating of 0 to establishments that do not merit even a single star. During a recent visit to procure plastic folders for my students, I inquired about the price-matching policy prior to selecting the necessary items. Upon reaching the register, the attendant appeared unfamiliar with the procedure and sought assistance from the manager, who conducted himself discourteously and unprofessionally. The manager would benefit from immediate training. The folders in question were identical to those available at Target. My decision to patronize this establishment was solely due to its proximity, which, in hindsight, proved to be an unfortunate choice. The Office Depot is located at Grossmont Center. Hopefully, someone from the main headquarters will read it and do something about it. I drove to Target and bought 100 folders there! Bye-bye, Office Depot, you need better staff! Tip for consumers:Enhance your staff training to ensure customer satisfaction! Products used:none Service Value
“Your Reward Certificate is not safe at Office Depot”
I had an Office Depot reward certificate that's expiring on Aug 31st, 2024. I tried to use it in the beginning of August and found out it's been fraudulently used by someone at a store in the state of Illinois. I chatted with customer service twice on their website and explained the situation. They either just pretended they didn't understand what I was talking about or they don't know what to do in that situation. I just feel unsafe being an Office Depot customer when anyone could use my reward at any time without any consequences. Customer service is a joke. I have been shopping at Office Depot since the opening of my business 17 years ago and I will shop somewhere else from now on. Service
“Over priced items”
Today I purchased an Epson 288 Black Ink Cartridge for $16.89 + tax at the Office Depot in Laurel, MS. I also turned in some empty ink cartridges. When I got home I went online to check my rewards account. I discovered that the same ink cartridge was on their web site for $12.99. I called the store and was told that the only way to get the online price is to tell the cashier about the online price when checking out. That is stupid. The system should know what the price of the items are without me having to tell them. Now I have to take the item back to the store (10 miles from my home) to get credited with the right price. This is very inconvenient.
“Printing 24x36 Blueprints”
I was just told I must come into the store and pay for my print job that I emailed into the store so I would not have to wait while it was printed. This seems pretty much a bunch of BS as I could not even give the girl my credit card information over the phone. I was told it's the "stores policy". So now I as a busy independent engineer must go down to the store for two trips in order to get my print order done and picked up. Get with the program guys. This is not rocket science. Service
“Rip You Off”
I went to an Office Depot not knowing it was going out of business. I was looking for a quality chair and thought they would have one. I got one but found out the next day I could have gotten it cheaper if I had ordered it and picked it up or went to a store not going out of business. I called the next morning, and they would not honor the lower price on their own website. Who does business like that? I will never step foot in an Office Depot ever again.
“Delivery Debacle”
Office Depot's delivery service is a disaster. My order arrived weeks late, and when it did, the items were damaged. Customer service was unresponsive and offered no assistance in resolving the issue. Office Depot, if you want to retain customers, you need to improve your shipping reliability.
“Fraudulent Business Select Trial”
I received an email, thanking me for signing up for a trial of business select. Office Depot must be compromised as I didn't sign up for any such thing. Tried to call them and their message says they're having technical difficulties. I bet. There's no way to chat, there's no way to communicate with this company at all. Get ready to monitor your credit Office Depot customers. Service Quality
“Worst Customer Service Experience Ever”
They delivered my order to the wrong address….TWICE. It took hours on the phone (several hang ups on their end) and via text to get the product finally delivered, 7 days after expected. Promised a credit, but it was "over-ridden" several times by an employee they would not identify. Again, hours on the phone & via text to seek resolution & due credit. 10 days after the initial promise of a refund was made, and I've yet to receive it. On a scale of 1-10, a 0.25. Staples from here on out. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Buyer Beware”
Purchased a bookcase on their website with next day delivery. It did not arrive and there was no tracking information. Contacted customer service twice but was only told there was a delay, they had no idea when it would arrive. After 10 days I asked for a refund. Customer service cancelled it and sent me a refund confirmation via email. Refund was never received. Contacted customer service about 10 days later and they said there was an error, they corrected it and I got a second email confirmation for a refund. Never received it so I contacted customer service again and talked to a "supervisor". She explained she had now corrected the "error" and my refund would be forthcoming. Got a confirmation of that via email. Still, no refund. It's been 40 days. I have paid and received no product. Spent hours trying to get my refund but they show no signs of refunding my money. Buyer beware! Products used:None
“$140”
I have now gone in circles with this company. First off I think that it is absolutely ridiculous to have to wait almost 3 weeks for a refund. When I purchase something they want the money right then and there. Once I finally received the refund it had the wrong name on it and the corporation sent me back to the store to get it fixed. The store was confused but sent the work order in and now that it has been a few weeks I went back to the store and they told me to call the main number and they then sent me back, So, please enjoy your free $140 which is nothing to you but hey I guess I helped pay a few lunches. Products used:retractable banner Service Value Returns
“Office Depot Office Select program”
Stay away from this program it is impossible to cancel it is not worth they give the great sales pitch in the store and tell you easy to cancel... NO it is not so do not sigh up for it in the first place! Tip for consumers:Like shopping there just do not use this service Service Value
“Making copies”
I wish I had her name but the survey code is 76KW GO4Y P1F4. The employee working in the copying area at Office Max in Mansfield, Ohio was so helpful. She helped me make some copies in record time. Plus I was in a hurry (like we all are), in and out of the store in a flash. Really nice lady. The date and time was 10/24/23 2:56 pm. Thank you, Deb Reese
“Not a good experience”
I am a remote worker and I needed a filing cabinet. I ordered a file cabinet to be delivered to my home from Office Depot. After ordering, it did not show up in the website tracking. It also did not arrive on time. I had to chat twice to resolve it. It arrived with major damage. I had to chat to arrange a return. The return pickup never showed up, I had to char to resolve that. The pickup finally showed up and had no paperwork or receipt. I had to chat to resolve that. Every part of it, other than the tech support people, was unprofessional. I do not reccomend them to anyone. Tip for consumers:I am a remote worker in Fort Lauderdale FL Products used:none, the cabinet was damaged and I had to return it Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Rude, Ignorant Manager Named Theresa”
I was looking for self adhesive laminating sheets at store located at ******* Jaggery Road, North ille, Mi *******. I asked Theresa who introduced herself as a manger about it. She said it is on the wall. I asked her if she could please show me the exact location. Theresa raised her voice on me, the customer, and said "I told you it is on the wall." I left without spending any money to support the existence of idiots. I am a doctor and do not appreciate anyone who more likely does not even have a high school diploma to raise her voice on me. THERESA SHOULD BE FIRED. Do yourself a favor, spend your money where the employees will respect you. Thank you. Tip for consumers:Shop somewhere else Products used:I left without any purchase Service Value
“Bad Customer Support”
I bought an almost $500 desk. The unit was not available at my local store so I had to purchase online. It was literally DROPPED off while I was a work - damaged with the end of the box destroyed. I immediately sent pictures and called OD and my CC company trying to get them to pick up or for me to bring back to the store. OD is stating I never contacted them and are pushing now for payment. Do they not realize people keep emails and phone records? Horrible customer support. I will never buy from here again. Tip for consumers:Pick up local - DO NOT SHIP TO HOUSE Products used:Office Desk Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Used Product Sold as New”
We received a used desk from them sold as new. When we gave an honest review on their website about the product, they refused to publish it. So, do not trust reviews on officedepot.com. They only accept good or decent reviews. The desk we received had children's marker drawn all over it and obvious wear and tear. I am disappointed to know that Office Depot doctors their reviews. Nothing about the review was inappropriate and we were actually kind about how they handled the return. I would deduct at least 1 star from every product on their site to get an idea of the real review. Tip for consumers:Deduct 1 star from all of their reviews because they only accept the good ones. Products used:Realspace® Broadstreet U-Shaped Executive Desk, Cherry Item #475994 Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Visibly Damaged Product”
I received the package less than 15 minutes ago and I'm already working on the return/refund process. Three of the four corners are damaged. There are various nicks and gouges along the sides. There is a sticky substance covering an area by one of the corners. The biggest problem, however, is that the board is visibly bent. This product needs bubble wrap or some other kind of padding to ensure safe delivery. As much as I would like to have a whiteboard, it is not worth hanging this product on my wall. Extremely dissatisfied with my Office Depot experience. As a side note, I tried to submit this review (with photos) to Office Depot. I was notified via email that this review could not be posted because it "mentions shipping complaints". A vendor should be responsible for ensuring safe delivery of an order. A separate email also informed me that they cannot pickup the item or issue me a refund until they contact the shipping vendor and work something out with them.
“Do I have to give it any star”
Do I have to give it any star. Same story as everyone else. We should file a class action suite against them since they obviously don't care. Order not arriving. I cancelled and it arrives 5 days later. I called to return it and for two weeks and daily calls and emails still waiting for the promised pick up that never comes. They have the nerve to say I'll get my refund when it gets to their warehouse, like that will ever happen. Asked if I can bring it to the store and they say no. Asked for a shipping label and I'll send it, no response. They are quick to charge your credit card though. This has to be illegal. Products used:Office supplies delivered after order was cancelled Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Customer service complaint”
I ordered a storage cabinet from Office Depot online. I received an email saying it was delivered however I did not receive it. I spent a month and 13 phone calls trying to get this resolved. I finally asked for a refund which never came. I spoke to supervisors etc. Everyone I spoke with would say "You will receive a call back within 72 hours" or "An email within 24 hours" or "I will personally call you back tomorrow." None of which EVER occurred. After they promised me a refund I ordered the identical cabinet from another vendor. Well shortly after receiving that cabinet the Office Depot cabinet showed up. Never a follow up call from the supervisor who was working on my refund. The WORST customer service I have ever seen. Each time I called I had to explain the situation again. Each time they would give me a new complaint number but never follow up on the old number. I just gave up! Tip for consumers:If your product shows up GREAT! But if you have any problems don't expect it resolved with customer service. Products used:Storage Cabinet Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Next month delivery maybe”
Ordered a simple HON bookcase. Was supposed to be delivered the following Thursday. Great. Driver decided not do deliver. Next, it was re-scheduled for Tuesday. Nada. Now, it's re-scheduled for Wednesday. I'll be delighted to get it before Christmas, if not damaged. Otherwise, return, return, return.
“Never received product”
NEVER received item from 11/20/22 order. Today is 12/15. I patiently waited until 12/9 to contact Customer "service". Nothing was done. Reconnected 12/12 & was told would have resolution in 48 hours. That time frame has passed and all I've gotten is email saying "pending". They won't allow picking up nursing product from local retail location, they aren't concerned about getting it to me. NEVER trusting or using this company again! Tip for consumers:That Office Depot does NOT identify 3rd party sellers on their site and DOES NOT stand behind poor / no service from those vendors. Products used:Can't use any - never shipped it!! Service Value Shipping
“Stay away. They are a drop ship site now.”
This was a learning experience. I had to order some home office supplies and saw a discount available through my credit card so I opted to go with this site. They initially put the charge through in September, while the offer was still valid. Now all of a sudden it's been changed to October, conveniently after the discount expired. Also, their site is rife with so-called "dark patterns" so that you need to re-select your shipping options every single time you enter a new line of data (address, card info, etc.), otherwise you'll pay for what is supposed to be free shipping. Finally, the site is drop-shipping from various vendors so I was startled to see notifications from a business I didn't recognize. One of these businesses threw a box of plastic pens into a plastic shipping bag and one end was crushed. I do not recommend this business. Tip for consumers:Don't. If you do, have a cup of strong tea or coffee first and pay attention to every click or it will steer you to the more expensive shipping options. Products used:Pens, file folders Service Value Shipping
“Good place for printing needs”
Office depot in my opinion is a good place to get small office stuff done. I use it to do lamination, printing, sending faxes etc... Unlike other big box stores the staff is well trained and available.
“Pretty Neat”
I think this is a pretty great store, especially in you need supplies for your child school presentation or like a science fair. Easy to navigate through and helpful staff. Just not my all-time favorite craft/supply store. I still prefer Michaels craft store

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies this service works and is trustworthy. It costs only $6.49/month but is worth the cost. U.S., UK, EU, Swiss, and Canadian residents only. Click below.
