Is mynd.co Legit?

I have been a licensed real estate agent in Texas for 25 years. Mynd is by far the worst management company in the state of Texas. They break almost every tenenant law and their tenant contract is illegal and will never stand up in a court of law.

I would like to shed some light on Ashley G. She has been communicating, answering and just a breath of fresh air when it came to renting and moving out of our rental property . I never got the sense that I was bothering her and opposed or a few other people i have spoken to , She has given me faith that good property managers are still out there and a possible chance to renting another rental in the future using Mynd. Ashley that you for caring and excelling at your position!

THE WORST rental company to work with. HUGE SCAMMERS. We pre leased with them under the assumption that we would have a clean livable place to move into. They wouldn’t let us see the inside, pushed our move in date and didn’t tell us. Held us for a month then said we could view it and it turns out the inside is disgusting. There were termite infestations, rat droppings, holes leading to the outside. The company said it was cosmetic and that the place was livable. Then when we sent picture proofs of the problems they said that they were sorry we weren’t renting but they couldn’t give us our full refund.

Poor communication and response time for urgent issues. You cannot call your property manager, they only communicate through the portal. Everything is done remote. If you need them to look at an issue or verify and issue they will not physically do so. If you want to talk to them you have to schedule it on their calendars, which have little availability and it's several days out. All they are only interested in is keeping their profits high while ripping off both tenants and owners.

My condo had a leak in the toilet and was flooding. Jason D diligently and with an incredible speed jumped on top of it and resolved and situation within hours. He submitted a claim and got the entire thing resolved in less than a day. He was professional and kind and I am so grateful for him. Thank you so much.

DO NOT RENT FROM MYND, they will keep your security deposit for prior damages from other tenants, they do a horrible job on addressing any issues and at the end of your lease, they will charge you for the issues. My heat did not work on the first day of winter and they did not send anyone out for two weeks, the AC constantly broke and it took just as long to get them to fix the issue, the pool rarely got cleaned, nothing but headaches dealing with MYND!!! Be prepared to be disappointed and scammed out of you security deposit when dealing with their property mismanagement!!!!MYND response to every complaint with the same form letter (see below), and we all know what this implies - MYND: ‘We're sorry to hear about your experience and would like to connect with you to discuss it further. However, we couldn't locate your account using the information provided in your review’ they can’t locate any account because they haven’t looked nor will they address the concerns - typical response from their property mismanagement 🤷‍♂️

When we moved in we had a huge list of things that we cleaned fixed abd the whole house smelled of marijuana. We planted a whole new backyard since there was no grass to begin with and recleaned the whole house. Fast forward 3 years on our move out we were charged over $550 for landscape cleaning, $300 for cleaning of the house even though we did a huge deep clean before we left. Not super pleased with how much work we did to maintain the area and then having all these huge charges for things we did to improve the property.

The company failed to charge us for electricity, so our electric got turned off and all of our food in the fridge went bad. we were never reimbursed for the food. the charges “disappeared” and no one could tell me how to pay them. now i am being contacted from debt collectors about bills i was incapable of paying.

This Company is Piss Poor they only care about Money and Will Keep your Deposit for Mysterious reasons when moving out that can be up to 5x the rent DO NOT deal with these sorry greedy pieces of shit

How smooth the process was and the communication was top notch. Charlene was very personal and she reached out to me every step of the way. There was no long drawn out ordeal with anything.

Mynd took over the company that I initially signed with which was RentVest. Mynd did okay for a while but recently it seems they have reorganized and its a huge mess. They dont communicate well internally and seem to have lost their ability to do anything with ease. We have had service requests open without authorization, inspectors that didnt know how to turn on a light switch, pool service accidentally cancelled and more. Its a nightmare and we will be moving forward with a different company. I would NOT recommend using them. Both the tenants and the owners are super unsatisfied.

I love MYND ! the experience was wonderful ! I had a pleasure working with Charlene she was helpful and aided to every question I had she made my experience what it was and I thank her for it .

Terrible . Disorganized, poor communication and resolution . Have had two tickets and they kept making me take off work/make arrangements to be home and then cancel or just not complete repairs. Property owners should not use them if they want to retain tenants. I’m embarrassed for them. The techs are also contracted and inconsistent .

Horrible property management company!! Do not rent from them! They are a property MISmanagement company. Good luck getting any work order done in a timely manner. I just moved into my home 2 months ago and we have had TONS of issues, and it took about 1-2 months to address each one, some as simple as new fuses for the fuse box that keeps popping has taken MONTHS. A swap of my broken garbage disposal took WEEKS (this really should have been a quick turnaround). To get my A/C fixed they had two vendors come several times each before actually fixing the issue (again, took months). Their communication system is atrocious!!! It’s difficult to keep track of work orders on their app and their responses are delayed as heck, not sure from the system or sheer laziness. I even bought my rental insurance THROUGH THEIR APP, but the app didn’t recognize it, and I got charged for more renters insurance. WTF!!! Another story: I sent a question about hurricane clips before Milton hit, and the response didn’t come until TWO weeks after Milton had hit us. I really wanted to respond with a sassy comment, “Thanks for the timely response,” but I didn’t. So now, after increasingly frustration with the company, I have decided to warn others to NOT RENT FROM MYND. The property management is the absolute worst I have ever experienced.

Potential renters RUN if the management company you're thinking about renting from is MYND. It's Always the renters fault. The landlord chose MYND because anything that goes wrong will automatically be passed on to the renter/tenant. The worst property management company I've ever delt with

Mynd took over a lease and directly added the fees for a pet and smarthome to the rent cost me lot of time and providing evidence that I dont have these. Instead of do a proper job with reviewing in advance with prvious owners they put it on the renter. Now next month same again is on the rent including a Insurance Master Policy Charge for I have no reason why and they dont inform as I provided the current policy. On the smarthome agreed to leave off so now for next period they charge a 1% fee of not having the Smarthome. I dont see it anything else then get more money from renters. Why a fee if you dont have to do anything. Just theft

I rated it 1 star because I had to; otherwise, it would have been zero stars. Mynd is a joke—they charged me a fee for a drawer, claiming it was negligence, and also a trip charge for something they came to fix, which they later said was a waste of their time since we had already handled it due to a safety hazard. Plus, rent is due on the 4th, but if payment isn’t received by the end of the day on the 3rd, they add a 10% late fee and a $75 notice fee.

I wish there was minus star rating - MYND is the worst rental property management company. They do not take any responsibility. They have excuses for everything. Their response is tenant did not pay after our follow ups and emails and calls so it not our fault. Why are we paying them. They do not even bother to do Moving out Inspection. Since I am not continuing to rent with them they do not care about me and my property . Tenant left the property messy. WORST EXPERIENCE -NEVER DO ANY BUSINESS BUYING AND RENTING PROPERTY WITH MYND. Horrible experience .

This company loves to take your money. Our apartment was lacking in certain areas upon moving in. Namely, the doors and windows where not properly weather stripped letting pests and hot/cold air in, the vents had dust all over them and random objects were thrown into the floor vents, paint was chipped and peeling off of doors and ceilings, and last but not least; my roommates windows where covered in hundreds of spider webs. All of this is an issue, but what made it borderline insulting is when we requested maintenance for one of the issues above. We gave them a list of available times and they confirmed a time. We sat in our living room (3 feet from the door), with the TV off, just sitting on our phones waiting for the worker to show up. We proceeded to wait over an hour over the scheduled visit time for someone to show and no one did. I had to go back to work, but my roommate waited even longer to no avail. We contacted Mynd the next day to inform them of the no show, and they proceeded to blame and deny responsibility. Leading us on a multi-month goose chase of emails and texts back and forth where it seemed like a new person responded every time, having zero clue of what was happening. They then waited until interest was set to accrue on the payment and responded the day that the interest charge was set to be released, just giving us another cookie cutter response on why they have zero clue on what is going on and blaming us again. I do not understand how a company can claim to be "tech savvy and customer focused" when they literally could not read or respond to our messages on THEIR OWN APP in a timely manner. I am deeply disappointed in this experience and will have to set up a camera in the house for all future maintenance visits to prevent this sort of trickery again. I shouldn't have to fight with the management on an issue as simple as this, but now I know they cannot be trusted.UPDATE: (Changed to 3 stars from 1) I have gotten a response from the customer care team (the ones responsible for responding to issues brought up here) and they got the ball rolling. I am still disappointed that it took this long for this issue to get resolved, but regardless, it was solved by one very kind S. Gillies. Thank you.
