While some are self-explanatory concerning myheritage.hu, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between myheritage.hu and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of myheritage.hu. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of myheritage.hu, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. myheritage.hu is a dubious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

“MyHeritage support stands out as Extremely Poor”
They blocked me without warning. I understand that it should be due to my VPN, but on the other hand, I've been running on a VPN for many years, and this has never happened before. And I refuse to explore myself on the internet just for their sake - it is their duty to keep up with the times... But the worst thing is, they do nothing to help me with this. They don't answer emails even though they say they will, etc. etc. And every page or link that refers to contact or a phone number just leads to a knowledge base. This is ridiculous - Their support is so BAD. Kindly, //one of your (former?) best client NOTE: the date of the start of the problem is earlier, this screenshot is a later retry to log in.
“LIMITS WHO CAN JOIN”
My adopted daughter and I went to MyHeritage.com to explore membership for her. They ask you for information (names of parents), ask you to import a family tree from sites like Ancestry.com, etc. Kind of hard to do if you're adopted and don't have any of this information. Nowhere on the MyHeritage site did we see the option to simply join and get a DNA test kit. They did offer a trial membership, but that required giving the same information about parents, etc. too. Ancestry.com on the other hand was very easy to join. We considered MyHeritage.com based on reviews saying that it gives more information in regards to European matches. Oh, we also tried contacting MyHeritage Support. You either have to log in as a member, or create a membership using the information that an adopted person probably wouldn't have. No way to actually contact someone. Tip for consumers:Sticking with Ancestry.com for now. If MyHeritage.com ever makes it easier for someone who doesn't have information about their families or ancestors to join or easier to at least ask a question, we'll consider them again. “I bought it and didn't receive it”
On November 24th, I bought a DNA kit and I still haven't received it. I have already sent an email, but I have not received a response. I also tried to contact the virtual assistant, but I didn't hear back. Upon checking with USPS, I found that the kit was not delivered due to an insufficient address. However, I verified that the registered address is correct. I am very disappointed! I still haven't received my money or my DNA kit. Shipping
“Incompetent organization and people working here.”
Incompetent organization and people working here. They are unable to send us the correct DNA kits. We pay to send it to them and they cancel the dna kit code for no reason and don't want to compensate anything so really not recommended. Ridiculous, laughable and incompetent! Tip for consumers:Incompetent organization and people working here. They are unable to send us the correct DNA kits. We pay to send it to them and they cancel the dna kit code for no reason and don't want to compensate anything so really not recommended. Ridiculous, laughable and incompetent! Products used:DNA kits
“Disregard with client”
I bought a kit, they charged me the amount of 159.00 for an annual subscription, I asked for a cancellation and a refund of the money. They tried to give me an answer after 7 working days, but they didn't answer me, total disregard with the client. Products used:They charged me an annual plan worth 159.00 which I have no interest in and did not give me a refund or cancellation of the plan. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Great support by Sharon, very friendly and professional”
My DNA test KITs got outdated (my fault) and I contacted support using their CHAT BOT. Sharon (a human support), came back to me quickly and was very friendly and very professional. As I couldn't get any replacement KITs to France, because of a law change that made it somehow illegal, Sharon offered a refund immediately, which I really appropriated, and after some difficulties refunding to my old Credit card that was not in use anymore, Sharon managed to find solutions, make the refund and solve the issue. The whole communication was very pleasant, fast and professional. Truly, the definition of a great support. I will defiantly buy new DNA Test KITs once I'm out of France.
“Features do not work properly”
I paid 200.00 for the full access package to Myheritage. Animation feature does not work. Other features work randomly. I've reach out to customer support and just get replies saying "a ticket" has been made for my issue but they aren't doing anything to fix the animation problem. I've found this to be a total waste of money. Service Value Quality
“Very kind and helpfull help”
I have unlimited storage, but my website said, that there wery no storage left. The person I talked to, she explained and solved the problem with kindness.
“Bad customer service!”
I ordered the DNA test kits and they never came. Tried to get ahold of customer support and could not. I sent an email and left my contact information and concerns about being billed for the tests that I never received. I will have to dispute the charges with my bank. Bad bad service.
“Stay away! Miserable customer service, just a rip off.”
Miserable customer service! They lost my kit and made me wait for more than two months, before a bot replied that I could claim a replacement. But MyHeritage never sent a replacement kit! When I tried to contact them they did not reply to any of my emails or messages. I got only generic nonsense from a bot. When I tried to contact them through the website they put me on waiting hold forever! Hands off! This is not a serious company. They charge a lot but they dont care about their customers. Once you paid you are dead for them!
“Supports does not respond … Feels like a big scam!”
I wanted to experience this website last month (((for once))) and therefore I ordered the DNA test and that was it for me. Now am surprised of cutting 129,50 € from my account! I do not agree on any subscription and I am not interested in that and never have been. Thus I wanted to receive my money back and cancel all kinds of subscriptions! But I tried to contact the support and no one answered me! Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Got absolutely nowhere with this site”
I had my own sketchy information for my family history and was hoping I could see records etc to help me get more information, but No. I have spent 2 days building a family tree with information provided by me! MyHeritage just copied what I have provided, and I got absolutely nothing in return - just occasionally confirmation that my information given to them was correct. My partner re-activated a competitor site which he'd used in the past and in just 5 minutes I got more information than I got in 2 whole days. I would not recommend MyHeritage - a complete waste of time. There is a close competitor site which is infinitely better... go for that one! Value
“Awful customer service”
If you get a trial and decide to not continue, be very sure you actually canceled. I emailed requesting a refund and for some reason they're requiring me to talk by phone "to help me with my request." My request is very simple, the kind normally settled even with a chat bot. I want a refund. Also, when I initially contacted Support, I was told I would receive an answer in 5-7 days. That was not the case and I'm having to constantly follow up with them to get someone to be helpful. Service Value Quality
“DNA-kit lost under transport”
I got the DNA-kit 7 months ago, and sent it back in January. I didn't hear anything back at all. I contacted support and it turned out it got lost in the transport. They offered to send me a new one right away without any additional charges. Products used:Waiting for the new DNA-kit
“Late Arrival and Refund Delays, but Employee Sophia Saved the Day”
Although my experience with MyHeritage was initially disappointing due to the delayed refund and delivery, I eventually received a full refund for both the DNA kit and subscription fees with the assistance of Sophia. While I appreciate her help and am grateful for the eventual resolution, I still have reservations about recommending MyHeritage to others based on my personal experience. While it's possible that my negative experience was an isolated incident, as a resident of Germany, I would urge others to approach this service with caution. For now, I plan to explore other websites for genealogical research in the future. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“They fixed it.”
After reading my reviews (the reviews really do have impact), myheritage.com refunded the balance of my subscription fee. I will give it 3 stars because it fix things -- but took a lot of work on my part to get them to act.
“Scam”
Exorbitant yearly fee 260$ charged after free trial is over. No way to cancel and receive refund. Scammers... don't go near them Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Great source of knowledge”
Good and efficient support, lots of sources to browse. I am working with my heritage as a paying member for one year now and have renewed my account. Service Value Quality
“Scam for $$”
I searched for free and some Discoveries came up. When I tried to view the Discoveries it said I needed a subscription. I signed up for the PremiumPlus Plan and still couldn't see the Discoveries. I called Customer Service and was told I would need to upgrade. Such a scam. I requested a refund but will take 7+ days to hear back. Service Value Quality
“Terrible Customer Service”
Ethnicity estimates keep changing. My original estimate was more accurate, Also Now nearly 10% Italian, none on any branch of our well researched family tree. Also without warning they have deleted DNA research tools such as comparative ethnicity Charts. When I reached out to customer service with questions all I got from the front-end reps. Was lip service. They kept promising I would be contacted by an expert, but weeks went by without A contact. Had to call several times over a period of weeks before I finally received This contact. It was an email form type letter that answered none of the questions I had raised with customer service. Finally, their website was useless. I had gone There first to find a customer service no. None was listed. I had to search the Internet to find it. All they offered on their website was a chatbot and some Articles, neither of which were capable of answering any but the most general Questions. I realize that these estimates are guestimates, and that haplotypes And other factors can skew accurate results. Still when the updates say that your Over 50% Scottish, dads from the Netherlands, and I only had one maternal great Grandmother who was Scottish it raises questions. Then when they List you as nearly 10% Italian when there not one Italian ancestor on any branch of your Family tree going generations back, it makes you question the distinction between A somewhat reliable guestimate, and totally useless unusable info. All in all my Experience with them was very frustrating and disappointing. As one who in retirement Loves doing genealogical research this may help explain the venting nature of this review. Service Value Quality
“Avoid scam”
Extremely disappointed with this service, I sent my DNA test in January and have still have received nothing back. Not only that but I have now been charged a further £114 for an annual cost when i cannot get a reply regarding my DNA test. No updates or correspondence at all, I feel like they just want the money with no interest in providing a fair service. I would avoid and try elsewhere and am now raising a dispute with my bank. Tip for consumers:avoid scam Products used:dna test Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Don't use”
I was keen to do a DNA test so I paid £40 for the kit and signed up to the 1 month free trial. They deliberately waited 3+ weeks to send the kit which was their way of getting me to extend my free trial and pay an annual subscription fee. During the free trial period I tried to create a family tree and none of the records available were accurate. Absolute con artists. Service Value Shipping Quality
“No customer service unless you pay”
I wanted to download my raw DNA file and attempted to do so using the instructions listed on the MyHeritage website. The option to download was not there. I then attempted to find out why this is by contacting their customer service but it only gives me the option to use the knowledge base which gives the same instructions that don't work. In order to speak or email a customer service representative you have to pay and go premium. Stay away from this company. Their results are basic at best and you cannot do anything with YOUR DNA as they keep it under lock and key evidently. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Worthless”
Beware. They will post your private information on public web. Took me months to get it removed. They offer family search in their fee, but that's free to anyone. Maybe why they joined with Geni. Would Not Trust
“No response”
Customer help? Rubbish. You can't physically talk to a representative. Impossible. Emails? No response. I emailed one month before renewal of membership was due, informing I was cancelling subscription and did not give permission for an "automatic renewal " They did take my money...$251. Well... I know police are helpful and will answer my call.

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
