We came up with the 10.9 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to michaelhill.com.au's industry. The algorithm detected high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Untrustworthy. Risky. Danger. tags above. Long story short, we recommend staying away from this website. But let's explain in more detail.

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status

While some are self-explanatory concerning michaelhill.com.au, let's look closer at the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between michaelhill.com.au and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of michaelhill.com.au. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of michaelhill.com.au, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. michaelhill.com.au is a suspicious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether michaelhill.com.au has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

The sales person product knowledge of earrings I was looking to buy for my wife was very poor. The earrings I bought were in fact helix earrings which my wife cannot wear. Upon returning to the store, I was advised they could not process a return and I should contact customer service. I subsequently emailed customer service along with photos of the helix earrings against my wife's ear and was told I could not return them to buy a pair my wife could wear (they were $300). This was extremely disappointing considering I have purchased more than $6k of jewellery from MH over the years. They have lost my business.
Nearly 4 weeks waiting I now have my Engagement ring 💍. Thanks for my surprise Grizzly and proposing to me all over again💋. No Casey Barnes wasn’t involved this time around! My Fiancé Gav pulled me up on stage at a Casey Barnes concert on the 1st of June and popped the question in front of hundreds of people #specialorder #MHJ #lovemyengagementring #mydreamring #somuchlove
This $2,400 diamond bracelet has just broken for the fourth time. Yes, we have life time cover to get it fixed but I am SICK of getting it fixed. It breaks from very gentle snags (design fault) and then I'm told it's not designed to be worn all of the time? What is the point of having jewellery if you can't wear it? This isn't the first faulty product I have purchased from MHJ either. The diamond in my engagement ring has fallen out on 3 separate occasions. MHJ masss produce and fail to deliver on quality. I will never purchase from this company again. Over 2K wasted and for what? I never get to wear it because it always needs to be fixed!!!! I have a photo I am happy to attach to this review. We were told we could not get a refund, and I would like to know why! We were sold a poor quality product that cannot be worn. BUYER BEWARE
Received a MH chain as a gift. Not my style so went to store to exchange. Was told 30 day limit in exchanges. This was not written on the receipt & the staff did not mention this to my grandmother knowing this was a gift. The Sherway Gardens store said need to call the 1-800 customer service in Australia. Called was told nothing they can do. Not even a simple exhange that was 3 days past the 30 day mark. The Sherway staff knew this. Awful company who don’t care about customer satisfaction. DON’T SHOP THERE!! Money Grab Company.
Absolutely disgusting service. After being a life long customer, they refused to exchange a pair of earings my husband had bought for my 60th birthday. I now shop at an opposition store that happily exchange if needed
Stay away from Michael Hill… they don’t honour their return policy on wedding bands, and now stuck with a $1200 wedding band that will sit in a box forever, when you buy your rings they say you can come back and get the rings soldered together then when you go in to get it done they say no… the men’s wedding band is HORRIBLE quality, was worn for the ceremony and pictures and is now in awful condition and the Regional Manager won’t even take 5 mins out of his day to contact us!! Save your money and go elsewhere unless you want to be treated like trash and have nothing done by any staff
Stay the hell away from this "jewelry" retailer. Being somewhat of an expert in jewelry, my beef with this company is the extremely shoddy quality of their products and the quality of gold they use in manufacturing. This company is shockingly bad. I would permanently avoid this retailer , in the branded world of jewelry where the price to material ratio is always super high, unfortunately Michael Hill falls very short. This is basically junk jewelry that's dressed up as premium jewelry. This is not anywhere close to Tiffany, Cartier or David Yurman quality, this garbage is leagues below. Read what I wrote again: the jewelry they stock and source is garbage quality. Stay away for that reason alone!
The policy was not communicated clearly to me at the time of purchase,I have visited your store three times for different purchases, and upon checking with one of my colleagues who is also a customer, they mentioned not being aware of this condition either for lifetimewarranty. This is misleading advert to increase the sale. Other part is ring cost me 2100 and Diamond didn't even last for two year ring wasn't rigid enough to hold dimond for 1 year 6 month. Quality vs pricing does satisfy the value of the reknowned brand.upon taking this issue to customers care their response was "I can appreciate that in the excitement of the moment, communications can be missed"" and dismissed . Never going back and I asked my circle to do the same. This situation is quite disappointing, and I want to ensure this doesn't happen to other customers.
The service we received from Melanie at the Penrith Michael Hill store was exemplary. She went out of her way to look after me and my engagement ring needs. She took my experience from working with any Jeweller to working what felt like ‘My Jeweller’. A feeing that won’t be forgotten next time we’re looking for more jewellery.
I recently had an extremely frustrating experience with Michael Hill, which I believe potential customers should be aware of. I made a substantial purchase of jewelry, including a ring and earrings, totalling over $9000. Despite the high value of this order, my experience with their customer service and return policy was deeply disappointing.Within hours of receiving my order, I found the quality of the ring to be unsatisfactory and decided to return it. Although I acted swiftly and followed the advice of their sales agent to initiate an exchange, the store manager claimed he needed approval, and my request was inexplicably denied. It’s worth noting that neither I nor the store manager could identify any defects or signs of wear on the ring without a microscope, calling into question their claim of significant wear caused by me.This incident has left me feeling trapped and cheated by Michael Hill. Despite their advertised 30-day return policy, my attempt to return a high-value item due to dissatisfaction was obstructed by what appears to be deceptive sales tactics. The lack of transparency and accountability in handling my return is alarming and suggests a pattern of behavior aimed at trapping customers into keeping unsatisfactory products.I urge anyone considering a purchase from Michael Hill to be wary of their customer service and the actual quality of products versus their high price points. This experience has demonstrated a disregard for customer satisfaction and ethical business practices, making it hard for me to trust or recommend Michael Hill.
Can I give them zero star ? Avoid MH seriously. Worst company ever. When I wrote comments in IG they deleted comments as well. Looks like Just show fake comments in their page. This is a response I received from Michael Hill when I enquired about being able to extend a gift Foucher purchased in December 2019, just before Covid, and which expired in December 2022. I have always been a loyal Michael Hill customer, And overlooked the expiration date of the voucher. Of course during Covid I could only use it online, which wasn’t much use, but I have receive no luck in trying to extend it so that I could use it in person now. I would’ve thought the least Michael Hill could do would be to offer some kind of benefit, even if they didn’t Want to credit the voucher in full? I won’t be shopping there again…
Have shopped with Michael Hill all our life. My husband has recently bought me a gorgeous pair of earings for my 60 th birthday. Unfortunately just by looking at them, I can tell they would be way to small. Went in within hours of recieveing them to be told no we can't exchange. I know there are rules but not once was he told he couldn't change them. Girl and manager couldn't have cared less. Sorry but after all the years of always buying my jewellery there I will take my business somewhere else. Waste of hundreds of dollars
0 stars. Bought an engagement ring Dint within 4 days of wearUnder their "care plan" sent away Cannot be fixed Told just like driving a car and having a crash day one, this is wear and tear, bad luck So now I have over $1,000 ring with a dint Head office useless and dismissive
I purchased an anklet that never arrived. I had to make several attempts to get to customer service and went through terrible experience. Luckily I got my money back. I should have come to trust pilot first before attempting to buy from this company. My question is, if it’s this bad,why are they being allowed to operate?
I bought 2 expensive chains from this pitiful company. After the 30 days return policy expired, strangely enough they clasps failed. I am veteran and spent alot of money to tell me my how special she is to me and that I would have died years ago without her. Apparently Michael Hill does not want to know us. Can you fix it, answer no, your problem now. Can I get another jeweller to fix it, answer we can but we void the diamond warranty! I will never buy anything from this disgraceful company for the rest of my life! Enjoy your party on our coin. You are terrible, you company is terrible and you destroyed something very beautiful between my wife and myself. But if my country ever calls again , I will defend even people like you! You hurt us! Why?
Dont waste time buying from the scammers, bought the necklace took it there for repair after 7 months , the warranty does not work , since you have to take it there for inspection every six months otherwise the warranty does not work. No scene they just rip off people.
Very bad customers service. Took my rings in to a store in Melbourne to be enlargened (a service available with my care plan) and the two women behind the counter told me this could not be done because it would compromise the stability of the diamonds. They rudely went on to tell me that if I had the enlargement done elsewhere, my care plan would be forfeited. So basically, the rings were no longer wearable! Fortunately, after attending on a separate occasion, a different salesperson served me. She was able to get the rings enlargened with no problem. Suddenly, the compromising of the diamonds was no longer an issue. I believe the customer service people need to be trained on how to treat their customers, and keep in mind that they do not possess the expertise and skills in determining whether a jeweller is able to perform a job or not.
My advice is to avoid Michael Hill like the plague. After several very poor experiences, I will never spend another dollar of my hard earned money in any of his stores. Our latest experience was with a ring that had a sapphire that fell out of it. After returning it after only14 months and it having had all its checks under there lifetime warranty. (Not worth the paper it's wriiten on or the money paid for it) They tried to tell us the ring was beaten up. It wasn't. They then told is they couldn't get the saphire required to fix it. Not good enough. They then found a saphire that was to small and tried to tell us it was fine. In the end the replaced all the saphires that they intially couldn't find after I kicked up a massive stink. It took them 3 months. This is just one incident of many. I suggest going anywhere else to buy your jewellery.
If I could give a no star I WOULD!!! Terrible products that break and customer service that is horrible. They do not stand by their products or warranties. I will never purchase from Michael Hill again and encourage others to do the same. I ordered online and when I received the product, it was broken. I had to jump through hoops just to talk to someone and fight hard for a refund as they did not see the problem as their fault. They also cleaned my ring in-store and the diamond fell out, then they said it was not their fault or responsibility.
Extremely happy with my purchase! Many thanks to Bryce who assisted me and managed to find the perfect combination of white pearls.Unique pendant on an 80cm sterling silver belcher chain. And stunning stud and drop earrings to match. All at an amazing price.Highly recommend Brisbane City store - I was taken care of.
