metroswimshop.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives metroswimshop.com a medium-risk trust score on the platform: 64.9. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Known. Vetted. Low Risk.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 64.9 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to metroswimshop.com's industry. The algorithm detected a slightly lower risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, noted in the Known. Vetted. Low Risk. tags above. Long story short, we recommend staying vigilant and using common sense when engaging with this website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning metroswimshop.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between metroswimshop.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of metroswimshop.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of metroswimshop.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. metroswimshop.com is likely a safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether metroswimshop.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether metroswimshop.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, metroswimshop.com.

As of October 26, 2024, their website at "storehours" for their Glen Burnie store says their Saturday hours are 10am to 5pm. But their main web page says their Saturday hours are 12pm to 5pm. I was there on Saturday, October 26 at 1220pm and they were closed. I guess that's what I get for trying to support a local business.
Buyers Beware. This company will rip you off. Do yourself a favour and buy elsewhere. They have no customer service skills. The website does not work properly. They advertise and sell items which are not in stock and don't bother to inform you. They don't inform you of the postage charge when completing online orders and their rates are extortionate.
Prices and products offered are good, but service leaves something to be desired. Placed an order on a Monday. I was notified via email a week later that the item was unavailable. I guess the website is not updated often. When I called to find other options for the original order, the employee still couldn't guarantee another product was available until she "got her hands on it". Bottom line, if you want to be sure you get the product you order and receive it in a timely manner use another company.
I purchased an expensive Arena tech suit for a Championship meet. My son wore it once and it split wide open when he tried to exit the pool (He's 19, very embarrassing). We are an Arena sponsored team and he has been fitted correctly for his suit and was wearing the correct size per arena. It was clearly defective. After talking to other swim parents they have had the same issue with the same suit. Swim outlet stood behind their product to keep a customer and refunded the money. I have reached out to the with photos taken immediately after the blowout, and have gotten no response. They have horrible customer service. At the very least respond!
The web site itself is not up to modern standards. (For example, if I'm buying branded Speedo gear, what does the gear look like? what does the branding look like?) The options for shipping turned out to be misleading (this batch of branded gear could only be shipped in one way, for $12, even though there is an option for free shipping for more than $40). The navigation stuff all over the screen was distracting and irrelevant if the team purchase options only cover a couple of dozen items. Since I haven't actually received the shipment (8 days past the placement of the order) I can't actually say whether the whole experience was ok.
This is one of the worst if not the worst designed website. The layout is below sophomore ability, and it seems as if a high school student designed it for the first class project. Even worse then that; there is no logic to the total order amount I am being charged. The Metroshop home page (and every pages thereafter during the order process) states that shipping is FREE for orders over $40 and for orders under $40 shipping is $4.50 for the 1st item and $1 for each additional item. There is absolutely no logic to the checkout process. I am trying to buy 1 swimsuit and 2 silicone caps for $97.50, and Metroshop charges me $11 for shipping!!! Get your stuff together, Metroshop.
Ordered an item and had to ship back for a size exchange. Called for specific instructions twice before returning the item, order was received by Metro Swim Shop and no one followed up. I sent emails but did not receive any feedback. Finally, called after two weeks only to find out that they do not have the size I needed. Poor customer service. Don't waste your time and shipping costs, shop elsewhere. I wish I read the reviews prior to making a purchase.
We ordered a swim suit and received a bag in the mail. Called on Saturday but no customer service during weekend, so had to wait till Monday. When I called on Monday, mistake was acknowledged (without apology) and was asked to send back the bag before they can ship the suit, or otherwise I will be charged twice. They send me the postage though, but I was hoping for at least an apology, and maybe even some kind of refund or discount.
Read the reviews. Really. This is a pretty sketchy retailer. Their web site should be a clue - it's hard to navigate and poorly designed. My order looked fine once I finally got it together. I used a holiday coupon they promoted. My order showed the discount on all items. Once my order processed (days later), the discount was only applied to one item. This was COMPLETELY different than my original order showed. I tried to contact "customer service", but NEVER had any response at all. It was only a few dollars difference, so it's not worth more of my time to keep trying to fight it.
While a nice person said the item was shipped, the post office said the number was incorrect. Never received confirmation of shipment, so am canceling. Totally and unexpectedly worthless, as I had heard good things about Metro Swim
Do not expect this retailer to stand behind what they sell. I ordered a pair of Speedo swim goggles from Metro Swim Shop on May 16, 2018. It is now June 30, 2018. The goggles began to leak around the eyepiece within the first few wearings. I was delayed until today in contacting the seller regarding a refund or replacement due to work commitments. The response back from the company: "Metro Swim Shop Online has closed the return request listed below. Reason for the closure of your request: Expiration of returns period." So, a product that should last at least 6 months (my last pair, not purchased from Metro Swim Shop, lasted over a year), is considered beyond the "expiration of returns period." No sense on the part of Metro Swim Shop that they should offer a replacement or even an apology. I will share Metro Swim Shop's lack of respect for its customers with others.
Purchased a tech suit that was clearly defective - split down the middle. Sent picture to Metro Swim shop and was offered a ridiculous 15% discount on a new purchase. Metro Swim shop has seen the last dollar from me. I will gladly tell everyone about our experience here.
Prices and selection look good. Site impossible to navigate due to CONSTANT web errors "HTTP: 404". Can't click from one suit color to another without this error. Two days in a row now. Would have already made a purchase if not for these issues. Guess I will go elsewhere.
For a second time Metro has listed a tech suit that when ordered wasn't available. The first time we needed it for an important meet, so was counting on the suit. By the time Metro got back to us saying they didn't have the suit, it was too late to order a new one. It was very disappointing to say the least. Then, giving them another chance, we tried ordering, this time during the slack season so no pressure, but again, without success. They didn't really have the suit that was listed. Please, Metro, try to list only items you have. I like your prices, so am seduced into your site, however, I don't trust what I see online anymore. You've lost a customer.
Poorest customer service I have ever experienced (VINCENT?).I ordered a champion suit in August and needed to exchange it for a different size. I immediately returned the suit and it was back in their hands the next day. 15 days later I am still trying to a get a response where my new suit is? I sent emails, I placed calls, I was told I'd receive communication that it shipped from TYR. And still nothing but ignored. I am out $410!!! And have spent way too much time and energy trying to get a suit. Still waiting.....
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SHOP. They first sent the wrong tech suit color knowing that the one they listed on the web site was wrong. Then after I returned the suit (now they have it for 2 weeks now), they still did not issue a refund even after I called then a week ago. When I called a week ago, I asked them to call m back with a status when it is refunded. They did not call me. Now they say that their refund person is on vacation. They will not give me the number to the person who issues the refund and he is the manager. I will be filing a formal complain through my credit card company tomorrow if I don't get the refund issued tomorrow.
Ordered a tech suit. They sent me an entirely different suit in a different size saying they will give me a %30 discount if I choose to keep it. Why not just cancel the order if they didn’t have my item? And why advertise and item they don’t have?!
Horrible Customer Service. I purchase a few items from here after recertification of my Lifeguarding certification. I purchased two of the CPR rescue kits(I’m guessing the stander ones they sell). I was carrying one to the stand for my shift and it opened up spilling the contents all over the including one part rolling into the pool. Well this was only the being, it doesn’t close right keeps opening when ever touch picked up or touched. I call Metro and inquired about this problem, first it took me forever to explain the problem. The customer service person just did not understand how hard was this to understand. I was on the phone for about 25 mins. And the final was they were sold out of all Lifeguarding equipment. Well, I hung up just called again yesterday and asked if they knew the manufacturer again different person still she did not understand what I wanted I asked for someone else and didn’t even understand that I was told to call back tomorrow. The run around is horrible DO NOT supportMetro Swim Shop please.
Honestly, I probably won't order from this company again. They took 72 hours to ship out my order, even when I called asking what the delay was. Unfortunately they had the swimsuit my daughter was dying for.
Order did not come on time, refund not issued in timely manner, wrong size cap. Rude customer service . Inability to reach anyone at the store. Need I say more?

“No customer service”

Called 2x long distance to verify they'd be open and working on a Saturday. They did both times and the hours. Never answered the phone for both the long distance and 1800 #'s, never showed up. They've lost my business forever. When I complained, no answer.

“Be careful with Metro Swim Website tricks!; When buying...”

Be careful with Metro Swim Website tricks!; When buying from Metro Swim Website, at the end of the purchasing, the website will prompted you to answer questions for reviews granting the customer with $100; this gratitude is for magazines and if you are not careful will be paying up to $171.00. It happened to me; When I contacted Metro Swim they alleged they are not connected to the Magazine Web but admitted they got review from them. This Magazines Website (www.magcustomerservice.com) has No contact person, No phone number, No address… I had to contact my bank for help... to see if the can cancel the transaction.

“DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUSINESS - DECEPTIVE AND NON-RESPONSIVE”

New comments after Metro's e-mail to me just now: They now say that they cant refund my money as the credit card I bought the suit on is not associated with the order and they are asking me to give them another credit card so thy can refund on that one. Are you kidding me?!? My credit card company is telling me they are being deceptive. I am going to file with the better business bureau. Products used:Technical Swim Suit Service Shipping Returns

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
